As far as the staff, they are ALL true assets to Southcoast's institution. I am a very difficult stick when it comes to IV and truthfully I worry more about the nurses gaining access then the procedure itself. The nurses are true angels! I've been amazed that on occasion a few were able to tap in on the first try. It took 11 minutes for the shot to be administered and my sister said there was virtually no pain. However, Every time I have come here, including today, the physician will give me a run around with no actual explanation of what's wrong, then tell me I need to go to the E.R. Mostly because they don't do any type of labs or tests here, so if your issue requires that you might as well skip the extra bill and waste of time. The actual physician seemed annoyed in her tone, and seriously lacked bedside manner. All she said to me was " well I can't do tests here" "so you need to just go to the E.R since I'm not sure what's wrong with you and you don't have a history of any related issues " I try to avoid clogging up the ER when it isn't an actual emergency, so of course this is frustrating when you can't get into your primary care provider either. Probably will stick to Hawthorn if I ever need urgent care in the future.

Her questions made us feel she was treating more than a patient a human being. At the end she prescribed him an OTC Nasal Gel and referred him to an Allergy/Immunologist, waiting for Allergy Test to guide her to a diagnosis. Her staff is awesome, kind and quick to overcome any obstacle. They even made the appointment for Allergy Doctor. We strongly recommend this practice.

Not enough staff as they try to do their best although 3 times have waited 2 or more weeks since to get a prescription filled and making sure the Prior auths are allset . Back and forth for over 2 weeks and getting incorrect info . Spending over 13 hrs trying to get it squared away. Luckily being on the Medical field I finally got thru to them what they actually needed to do. Wait so long on hold I just put phone on speaker and do chores when I am home since trying to call on lunch break is a waste of time. Now to find Drs in another practice that answers the phone and Drs getting prescriptions called in within a day or 2 . I have to call ahead 2 weeks knowing it will take that long and that's poor patient care. Had to go out of town and even told them that, gave them 10 days to fill prescription and still not done in time.
