Scheduled myself a consult for chemical peel with possible same day treatment. Not only did I not get the same day treatment, they don't do peels this time of year. Thanks for wasting my time. They should've let me know when I made the appointment that there was NO possibility of same day treatment. Very poor communication! I went with a cousin of mine who also scheduled a service. Flavia, the owner, who I had the pleasure of seeing earlier this past fall has obviously worked very hard to make Avalon what it is! Her focus on her business shows! The spa is immaculate! The interior is beautiful! The staff is exceptional and knowledgeable! Everyone is very welcoming. I would like to also recognize Charlotte from the front office. She had such a warm and friendly personality. She was very helpful! I wish I could remember the other girls names from the front, but I can assure you, they all do a wonderful job from the minute you walk in the door until the time you leave. I had a great experience at this spa. I was seen this past Saturday and had some fillers done- just some subtle aging I wanted softened. I am ecstatic with the results! I would have asked and thought I needed more. But the practitioners did a thorough consult, had a great interactive exchange about what my expectations were and what change in my appearance I was hoping for. They did not think I needed the amount of filler that I had first thought. I left feeling so confident. I met up with friends that's same evening. While I did have some expected swelling, my friends first comment was " I thought you were going to look so different but you just look better". Exactly the outcome I wanted. I have been going to Avalon since February 2021. I've sent two friends there and have told many more about it. I have always spoken very highly of this spa, even after one of those friends had a bad experience. Well, after an experience I had there today, I will not being going back nor will I send any other friends or acquaintances there. I was scheduled for an appointment at 3:30pm. I arrived a few minutes prior and filled out some forms and had my pictures taken, like always. That whole process took less than 10 minutes. I was told I could wait in the waiting area. My treatment provider, who is the owner, came down the stairs with another client about 5 minutes after I got to the waiting room. I could hear her discussing products with the previous client at the front desk while I waited - fine, that makes sense. Meanwhile, I heard another client come into the spa and check in and have her pictures taken. That client walked into the waiting area and the provider followed her, gave her a big hug, and proceeded to take this client ahead of me. The receptionist immediately followed and tried to tell her that I was there first but the owner did not seem to care as I heard her tell the receptionist "It's fine, it will just be a few minutes". The receptionist apologized. I chose to wait until 4pm but could not wait any longer. I had taken time off of work to be there for 3:30pm (earlier actually) and clearly this other client's time - a friend of the owners, it seemed - was more important than my time. I made sure to tell the receptionist that it was not her fault but that I had already waited over 30 minutes and that I thought the whole thing was extremely rude. STAY AWAY from this place! I have been a skin care fanatic for years, diligently receiving facials every 12 weeks, have done microchanneling and dermal infusion treatments as well as adhere to a rigorous daily skin care routine. Due to scheduling constraints with the esthetician who has done my dermal infusions for close to 3 years, I decided to try this place. I had certainly heard about how they try to "upsell" and are not the friendliest however, my booking process and my arrival at the spa today we totally fine. I booked a hydra facial close to a month ago and took today off to have it done. When I arrived, I was handed an Ipad with more extensive questions then I have ever had to answer at prior to any facial appointment, Aspire included.I completed them and waited to be called for my 12:30 appointment. At 12:40 the esthetician called my name and I was lead to a treatment room. She began to question that I had documented that I had melanoma and that due to that, they could not give me the facial I had booked. I immediatlely began to question the sheer lunacy of this, again, this has never happened at another place with a more extensive service. Not to mention the melanoma I did have was not on my face, so again this did not make sense. I was able to get the manager Stephanie on the phone who kept saying it was policy, not a regulation of HydraFacial!! I knew this as you cannot research anywhere that if you have had skin cancer then you cannot have this facial. ZERO reasoning except that I soon realized they were engaging in Deceptive tactics, generating new clients and then telling them they need to have a much more expensive service. When I asked for the name of who Stephanie reports to, she laughed and said, "my parents". I contacted the RI Attorney Generals Office after leaving the venue and have filed a complaint with them. In addition I am filing a complaint with the American Disabilities Association. I was denied a service for having had cancer, a complete violation. This place discriminates and engages in deceptive practices to the consumer and I am thankful this will be handled so nobody is ever subjected to this tactic and discrimination!! I strongly encourage to use Aspire Dermatology, you will not be turned away if you had skin cancer (zero reasoning) and tried to be coerced into a more expensive service. read more

Nice place, friendly girls in the front. However, the Botox personelle injected WAY too much botox in my face. It was my first time getting btotox. I don't have wrinkles, and she pushed 30-plus units on my forehead alone. I have other friends that have gotten botox and/or inject people, and they mentioned probably no more than 20 to 25 for your first time. (This of course i leanered after my treatment, i also learned the FDA just approved a max of 30 units meaning she put the maximum dose on a person with no protruting wrinkles and wanting botox as a preventative treatment on me) Overall, I just felt she wanted to put as much product on my face as possible and not my overall well-being. Staff is very nice, but make sure you know what you want for sure before going there because their goal is just to sell sell sell. I felt like they made sure to make you feel good about yourself but then would just push to whatever they wanted you to get. I personally will not be going back and would not recommend this place. read more

The Owner, Flavia, was warm and welcoming and extremely informative on all the procedures offered at Avalon. Flavia is a true artist and is a Botox pro! I have had injections in the past and each time, my eyebrows lost their arches. Don't be fooled by the beautifully decorated ambiance. I had reservations about going there for lip laser hair removal. I had done it before in Boston and it went well. I just needed a touch up to remove some very fine hair that I still had. I wish I had left well enough alone. Anyway, I'm mixed race and my skin color is IV, I had the lip laser removal done by the owner who burned my lip area and caused me to have immediate inflammatory hyperpigmentation on my lip area. This was in Spring of 2013, I left there looking like I had a mustache. The owner put some cream on it, which did nothing. Since then, I've spent thousands of dollars trying to get rid of the ugly hyperpigmentation. It's lighter than it used to be, but it has been 3 and a half years of trying all sorts of products and chemical peels. I wouldn't go back there if I were paid to go. I would be very careful if I were brown-skinned having any laser procedure by someone who doesn't know what they're doing. read more

The staff remain friendly and professional. The atmosphere caring and supportive and the equipment meticulously maintained. Each and every visit, I am provided consultation and afforded education to the procedures received. The results are phenomenal and I am frequently asked if I ever age. You can't beat a natural and aesthetically pleasing look! I attribute this to the skills of Certified Master Injector, Flavia. Before going elsewhere, ask if the practitioner is certified as a Master Injector. Odds are they are not, as only 3% of all injectors hold this prestigious certification. If you wouldn't have plastic surgery performed by a general surgeon, why would you trust your face to someone who isn't a Master Injector? Also, don't let finances deter you from seeking out the luxury or look you want and deserve. I went to the spa in Bristol, RI and had a wonderful experience. Ryan at the front desk was very informative regarding questions I had about the different services. Sylvia did a phenomenal job sculpting my lips into a shape that perfectly suited my face. I got the fullness I wanted with no "duck lips". I had minimal bruising and she made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. I also received botox for the lines on my forehead and my 11's. I've already noticed the lines softening a bit even though it takes 5-7 days to really start to work. I will definitely return. read more

Very disappointed with the staff and treatment I paid for, botox. Flavia did not listen to my concerns on my face and injected in areas I did not want and I have never had done before. My entire forehead has pain and I cannot even lift my eyebrows and my eyelids are no longer showing because of the botox in my forehead. Very disappointed and will never return there. Staff was not pleasant or concerned about my issues and felt they were pushing me to make another appointment and buy more services and products. I called back 4 days after the botox was injected and spoke of my concern and Flavia just made excuses like it was my fault with the ice pack. Buyer BEWARE!! Please ask for a consult first, and ask what are they going to do for your skin. Then go home and research. I will never go there again and I did not use my last free peel. My skin is dryer and I look older. My Story: I was very excited!! After all this is a medical spa with surgeons, doctors and a nurse. The place is gorgeous and the staff friendly and courteous. I was offered a beverage, then I was taken to another room in the spa by the nurse on staff and shown books with impressive before and after pictures. She said she would give me a gentle peel and then they would get more intense as I returned for more treatments. I went into the room. She did not even examine my skin! That should have been my first sign.That first peel did peel. The second and third, nothing at all. The third peel did not even sting one bit and it was a "4 layer" peel. I guess it should have been more intense. But, nothing at all! Very disappointed. But, that nurse can sell! AND I let myself be sold. I told myself this is a medical place, how can they be wrong? So one 500.00 kit later, which you can find on the internet for 300.00 and a Free peel to defray the cost, I left with great hopes with this new line of skin care products. The product dried out my skin and burned it. I called and told "That is normal, your skin will get use to it." I asked for a more sensitive product, but they said of course you can come in and purchase a new one, but no refunds. Oh that's right I forgot! I am angry at myself for allowing the purchase, I know better. So buyer beware. They are there to sell. No skin examination. I never saw one doctor. No refunds and lesson learned. read more
