My hair was done by the guy I'm guessing owns this branch. He is a nice Italian gentleman who provides you with tea or coffee and a good chat. He gave me lots of ideas of things that could be done to my hair- highlights to accentuate the colour, a full head of colour in my natural shade to hide old colour growing out, and never cut anything without checking it was what I wanted. I like the fact that, although he recommended I use a heat treatment on my hair, he did not try and sell me any products. Both times I have received many compliments after my haircut. It may not seem like a trendy or fashionable place to go but at least you know exactly what you're paying (rather than from £xx).

I have done with Sara a permanent straightening, a cycle of reconstruction treatments and today my first air extension! She is amazing, everything she does is really professional and well thought. She really cares about her clients hair and their looks and she gives good advices. I was greeted by one of the lovely hairdressers who then introduced me to Sara.We went downstairs and Sara talked me through everything I also had a coffee :)))) whitest chatting. Then the worked commenced . It took just under two hrs and VIOLA I had stunning new corrected eyebrows. Sara took her time and was so gentle with her technice. So on Tuesday's, if you book a cut and colour, the colour is half price! Which is what I always do. And they also give you a loyalty card which does entice you to come back. I arrived and within a minute was checked in and told to sit in the waiting area. After a couple of minutes my hairdresser came over and discussed with me what I wanted done. As I was going for a cut and colour, she discussed with me what colour I wanted and how I wanted the cut, advising me on what would suit me and what wouldn't. She then mixed the dye up in the back and put it on. Whilst it was on she checked it and massaged it in when necessary and took it off at the right time before cutting and styling it. I was also offered and given tea and water (although there was other options available). The service is great and you really do leave feeling like you've been pampered!

I sent an e-mail agreeing to this time. I then got an e-mail back from Lesley Mcintyre a few days later (attaching my previous e-mail agreeing to the time) asking whether I was coming. I sent another e-mail saying yes I was. I then got yet another e-mail back from her (again attaching the e-mail trail with my e-mails saying yes I was coming) asking whether I was coming. I sent another e-mail back saying yes I was coming. And then I got another e-mail back from Lesley McIntyre (attaching the e-mail trail showing all my e-mails saying yes I was) asking if I was coming. In the end I just phoned up and confirmed. I could have set this aside as a technical glitch, blaming the computer and e-mail systems, rather than Lesley McIntyre herself. However, when I did go to the appointment she was rude, disrespectful and unpleasant. I assume that this was because of the e-mail issue, even though she was the one who apparently didn't know how to read an e-mail. Also the haircut itself was really odd - it flicked up on one side and flicked down on the other side - something my hair has never done before. On the whole a disappointing cut and very disappointing and immature personal behaviour on her part. Not recommended.

It never feels as though you're having whatever the cut of the season is, you get what you ask for and what suits you. I've also had my colour done by Mikko at the salon and brazilian blow dry, all superb. The staff are talented, professional and charming which is a fantastic combination. Wiithout wanting to sound vain I usually take a few of their cards with me when I leave so that I have someto hand out because so many girls ask me who does my hair.

I normally delay going to the hairdresser for as long as I can because I usually leave not too happy with the result but this was my first time in this salon and I was very impressed. She actually listened to me and did exactly what I asked for. I'm usually the first person to slag of Toni&Guy haircuts (they only have about 10 different ones…read moreyou know) which their staff are dying to practice on you, as soon as they're back from their seasonal 'key looks' training for the month. Yet, one week I was desperate for a blow dry at short notice so I succumbed to the Muswell Hill Branch. My stylist was a super friendly mum called Sue, who thankfully really doesn't fit the T&G mold. She spent ages blowing my long hair into curls and didn't come near me with T&G's favourite utensil, the dreaded GHD's; I wanted big, bouncy retro curls, not WAG curls. She's such a calm person, so not only did I end up with fabulous hair for the big night ahead, but I felt really relaxed when I left too, something that I would have never associated with T&G. I'd just like to note that in no way am I promoting Toni&Guy. I'm promoting the lovely Sue and as long as she's there I'll keep going.
