Sandra does amazing work and is prolific! Her gallery is chock full of wonderful paintings of Adirondack landscapes. If she is not at the gallery, she is probably out painting. You can see her passion for this lovely corner of the world in her art. Saranac Lake is a cool town and her gallery is a must-see if you are in the area. read more

History

Established in 1995.

I am an independent artist with a studio/gallery in my home in Saranac Lake, NY. Hours are by appointment and during Studio Tours. Comfortable with both oils an watercolors, I love to paint Adirondack and other wilderness landscapes “en plein air”.

Meet the Business Owner: Sandra H.

I moved to Saranac Lake in 2004 and feel like I was meant to be here. Part of a vibrant arts community, I’m also just minutes away from outstanding hiking, paddling, and skiing opportunities. I love painting the Adirondack Mountains - the largest wilderness east of the Mississippi. Plein air painting gives me the chance to both be outdoors, in the mountains, and to paint! Member of the Adirondack Artists Guild where my work can always be seen on display in the Gallery at 52 Main St., Saranac Lake. My home studio is only OPEN BY APPT. Please call first. Exhibit in numerous regional and national juried shows. Have Solo exhibits just about every year. Have a favorite Adirondack view? I will also do paintings on commission.

Really lovely gallery with a great selection of pieces, mostly paintings, from many local artists…read more Located right in the village of Lake Placid, so very convenient to take a little walk through as you're sampling the wares of other local shops. The price ranges vary widely across the pieces and I would estimate that most of the pieces run in the a few hundred to a few thousand dollar range - outside of our current budget unfortunately, but reasonable and expected given that they're original fine art pieces. If you are settled in a home and in a position to invest in a piece, this would be a great place to look for one - lovely variety, with many of the pieces obviously inspired from the surrounding natural beauty. My favorite pieces in the gallery were some lovely sculptures of otters hunting for trout - someday! As it is, I was able to purchase some lovely handmade copper earrings, which I'm very happy with. Would recommend a visit, whether to purchase a piece or just browse!
