Like the song, "Where do I begin??" Our experience with Pete and Karen has been beyond complete. Anyone who's read my blather on social media knows that I'm both verbose and intensely interested in many things, not the least of which is how someone treats others. From the very start, Pete and Karen have responded to my many questions and concerns regarding our competent and skilled treatment of our eventual (and that's another story, as I used to row a very skinny boat) purchase of a *used* (translation: low profit - but, read on) Alden 18. That boat was as described: A small ding on the nose, of no consequence to structure, and brand-new, factory-wrapped Oarmasters (the sliding seat and riggers drop-in units) and carbon fiber hatchet sculling oars, delivered competently (I say with some knowledge, as I helped the manufacturer of my then-owned-double-and-single sculls do a couple of springs' worth of deliveries to the east-of-Mississippi US, coast and environs, teaching folks how to do sliding seat rowing). That said, I no doubt was a challenging customer, as I pestered them with incessant questions as the evolution of our eventual storage in our boathouse, and on the configuration of the launch-retrieve platform my son and I built evolved. AND, they didn't ask for payment until the spring deliveries could be scheduled (the delivery folks were already booked for January, when the deal was struck verbally). But back to my questions: Every time, they were happily answered, in detail, including two lengthy phone conversations with Pete - one early on, and just today, what (probably they and I both hope will be the last!) will be the culmination of their insanely patient customer support. There's no 10-star rating available, or I'd use it. If you're in the market for a sliding seat rowing boat of any stripe, maker and competence level, there's no way I can adequately convey my joy at working with them. I have emailed a few times with questions, as I bought a used Alden Ocean Shell 18' out here in LA, and every time I receive a super-prompt, super-kind, super-helpful response. Pete and Karen are "salt of the earth." . You could not possibly go wrong here. Old-fashioned A++++++++ attention and service. What fun! Pete and Karen are amazing. Great customer service. Pete's lessons are thorough and encouraging - and you learn so much! He even will suggest a place to eat if you are from out of town (which we were.) He never pushed any of the particular boats, and helped us through the in's and out's of which boat would suit us. It's a fine line to walk. When we first called to talk about buying a boat, he was so helpful in suggesting that we first learn to scull and THEN think about buying a boat. We were heading down a path that would have to put the cart before the horse. So, we flew out to his neck of the woods to learn and had such a great time that we feel Pete is a far-away friend. Karen keeps things humming in the office and is quick to answer any questions. Super high rating. You won't be disappointed! It's as good as it gets! read more

If you want to learn to scull, Pete's your guy. My sister and I took a two hour novice class, my husband some private instruction. We all learned an amazing amount in a short time. Pete is patient, clear, effective in conveying information. And he found me a boat, brought it up the next day, let me test it and gave me more tips, helped us load it, and we were on our way. I cannot recommend him highly enough--instead of a week of camp, try a weekend with Pete. And Brant Lake is lovely read more

I can't recommend Adirondack Rowing more highly. We stay on Brant Lake every summer, and had no idea we could get a skulling lessons and even rent a skull right on our own beautiful lake! Pete is fabulous and very knowledgeable. We learned so much, got fabulous exercise, and really had fun. Next year, we will book this for our first day so we can enjoy skulling all week long!!
