Let me start by saying this group was very accommodating and commutative. Our young guides were friendly, knowledgeable, and kept safety and fun top of mind! What's more is, I was "that lady" who brought a waterproof phone protector with a neck strap to take pictures with my family and friends. I was also "that lady" who took the neck strap off to avoid tan lines...needless to say, my phone went into the Hudson River without me realizing it! Ethan and his crew were so kind during my personal meltdown, mostly due to me kicking myself for being so careless. They had a group of 80 after us, but assured me they would all look out for it as they had an idea where I dropped it. We called every half hour in the hopes one of the other crews may have discovered the phone, and at 4:50, my husband's phone rang with the amazing news that the phone was found safely! All 3 of our guides looked and I cannot express how grateful I am to them all!! Personal tragedy aside, our entire group said the lazy river was the best part of our trip, and we have already recommended AAC to friends who are traveling to Lake George in the coming weeks! Despite the water level being very low and parts difficult for the guides to get us through, they worked hard to make it a wonderful float. It was a small group and our two guides were awesome! We did a float last year with another company and this one was twice as long - way better! We had the pleasure today of tubing down the Hudson River! Weather was gorgeous and itt was beautiful! But our guides Avery and Ethan were amazing! The river was very low so it took a little longer to get down river but Avery and Ethan went above and beyond to help everyone get down the river and while having a great time! My husband has very bad arthritis and they worked really hard for 3hrs to help him and everyone else get over rocks and people stuck. And to top it off as exhausted as I'm sure they were.....once we got back they immediately went on the next trip just to do it all over again. They did an amazing job today!! I chose this company for tubing the Hudson River just outside of Lake George. Omg, it was the best thing we did the entire trip! I wish they had longer trips! The guides were excellent, professional, and at times even comical! It was easy for any age over 5, so relaxing and scenic! I could have stayed all day, but a good amount of time on the tubes and island. They discourage bringing your phone but you definitely could, especially with water protector. I chose not to, hence the one picture. I purchased from website. We rented cooler holder and brought beverages and some snacks. The bus ride is a bit windy but it's the Adirondacks, driver seemed safe and knowledgeable of the winding roads. It was amazing, I can't wait to go again! Book it, you won't be sorry. We did the lazy river tubing and had a good time on the tour. Our guides were Emily and Lucas, who told us he would have bad jokes during the 15-minute bus ride and he delivered. They have lockers at the location, but it looked like they weren't working, so we left everything in our car and left the key at the desk. There are also changing rooms and restrooms. If you're going to bring a cooler, it's worth the $10 to rent the cooler tube which can easily hold a 48qt cooler. There's really only two bad things about this place and one is the life vest smell like butt, and they need to invest in actual straps that can keep tubes together rather than have people tie strings to each others tubes. read more

Did the whitewater rafting. Some good dips that will get you wet. There is a approximately 20 minute slow area that the guides allow you to go swimming with your personal flotation device on. However, getting back on the raft might require the guide to haul you up like a fish..... They got me for an extra $10, as the check in personnel told me you can't bring or leave anything on the bus that takes you to the river. Meaning my car key fob would be in danger of getting wet. So I rented a locker to store the keys. As it turned out, our bus driver that day said we could leave our keys and such on the bus. For your information. read more

We had an amazing time. Our tour guide was great and don't miss out on the friendly bus driver. The entire operation is wonderful and incredibly knowledgeable about the area. It may seem a little price for a large family but I will tell you, it is worth every penny!! This is our third time tubing with ADK adventures and can't wait to go again. Also- don't forget to tip the driver and guide. There isn't an ATM there and I always forget to bring cash. There is an ice cream stand up the road that has an ATM. Our guides were excellent - knowledgeable, professional and friendly. Even though a small rainstorm (and a flash of lightning) came through on our bus ride to the embarkation point, it quickly cleared and we were able to set off on our Lazy Tube Ride down the Hudson River. While I never would have thought of lazily tubing down a river, doing so down the Hudson was remarkably relaxing. Being able to kick back at a leisurely pace with a cooler in tow was something that I'm glad I experienced. The group we coasted with was really friendly as well - you don't have to interact with your whole group but sometimes you may be coasting very closely next to someone. It's fun to listen in on conversations and enjoy the sights of the Adironacks. Upstate New York has quite a lot of beauty to offer. The team at the Adironack Adventure Center was epic. Sign the waiver and get to Adirondack Adventure Center!!! We had the most amazing time with Jessica as we battled the rapids and made it back home. Jessica managed the rapids with ease and curated a enjoyable experience that will last a lifetime for our children. The adventure center is about 15 minutes from our campsite. We were able to book a reservation during the last minute of our trip and had no problems with confirmation. We checked in and went to fitting. After a short wait, we boarded a bus and went to the rapids. We were given instructions for safe handling and Jessica took us into the water. Jessica was fluent in all terminology and safety relating to the rapids. Our three children were a little worried in the boat but livened up after we took a dip. The trip operated in 3 sections. . First, the crusher was the first rapids we conquered with many more to come. The second part of the trip we were invited to swim the rapids in the deepest parts of the river. The water was refreshing and soothed the little ones worries. The last part of the trip was the ride home to the boat launch. The rapids pick up in speed and intensity creating a satisfying trip. We came back to do the tree top adventure in the fall and I'm so glad we did. My kids really enjoyed being in the trees and completing the course. I left the Adirondack Adventure Center's Lazy River Tubing trip feeling physically and emotionally drained. It was essentially a forced march down miles of dusty, waterless riverbed while fascist teenage guides patrolled the area, exhorting the hapless tourgoers to go ever increasingly faster. We were packed on a bus, masked and confused, then disembarked on a rocky shore miles from civilization. With little to no instruction from the jackbooted teens, we wearily trudged the length of the Hudson. The weak and old were left behind, and the young will bear the scars both on their feet and on their psyches. Hungry, cold and hopeless, the survivors regrouped at the terminus of the excursion and huddled for warmth in the sun, finally appearing on the horizon as the gray day faded into twilight. I left my dignity on the shore along with my $45, my emotional well-being, and my sense that the universe was essentially a safe place. read more

I love everything about floating the Hudson with Adirondack Adventure Center! They've pivoted effectively with COVID and are open for business, taking every precaution to make it a fun, but safe experience. Everyone there is so friendly, the tubes are in great shape, they let you bring your own cooler (you can also rent them from them), and the views and atmosphere of the float are phenomenal. Most recently, our float guide was Grace and she was great; personable, patient, and always there to give us a push for optimal floating. I look forward to tubing every summer, and with AAC it's easy, relaxing, and always fun. read more

Day was overcast and felt colder than weather forecast predicted. Called ahead and learned that you can't stop tubing sooner than full 2 hours if you're cold. Was also told that we could not reschedule nor apply our tubing fee to a different activity (e.g., zip line). Cancellation policy strictly requires 24 hours notice. ok here goes went for our family weekend which we do every year this year was lake george.. booked this in advance.. rained the day before so ther were not sure if we could go.. after almost an hour wait we were a go.. we could not use the dock so we had to carry the raft over half a mile down hill thru poison ivy ticks poison oak to name a few.. we were seven people three were kids uder 15 two were under seven .. even our guide apoligzed about what was done to us,, they also soak you for water shoes if you are not wearing them.. spent over $350..00 called to speak to owner did not even have the respect to call me back terrible experience !!!!!!! read more

We have talked about going tubing for a couple years, and decided to check out Adirondack Tubing Adventures this summer after purchasing a Groupon. We had never been tubing before, and to be honest, I'm not a big fan of water, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect.  You need to reserve a spot online ahead of time, and we also filled out our online waivers before heading out. We had no problem finding Adirondack Tubing Adventures, which is less than 10 minutes from Lake George, located right on Lake Avenue / Route 9N.  You can't miss the school busses and heaps of brightly colored tubes right off the main road. They recommend getting there at least a half hour before your tubing session starts, and I agree with getting there early.  The parking lot was already packed when we arrived. We ended up parking on the road, which was not ideal, especially with kids on a busy road and when you have stuff to unpack and carry over (we brought a cooler and dry bags).  However, I was happy the road is wide enough that I could make a U-turn, and there was an ample shoulder for parking. Getting there early also gives you time to sign in, fill out your waivers if you haven't already, make sure you are all set with your rentals or adding anything on, trips to the bathroom, changing, getting sunscreen on, etc.  There are only a few bathrooms and it was pretty crazy when we were there, and I wanted to make sure the kids went to the bathroom before we got on the bus, so in the future I would arrive just that much earlier.   There are also only two changing rooms, so it is probably easiest to be changed before the trip and wear your swimsuit there. The bathroom stalls are tiny, so there is no way to change in there. We got our life jackets and got on the bus promptly at our start time (2:45pm).  The bus is about a 10 minute ride up the Hudson river, and you get out right along the shore where you put in your tubes.  The bus ride was very hot, which made it that much nicer to get out and go tubing! The guides gave us instructions, and we got ready in the water, facing the shore and ready to sit in our tubes - and then with their go ahead, we were off. The guides provide ropes if you want to tie your rafts together (we had brought an extra in case).  This is definitely helpful if you have kids with you, and we also rented a mini raft for our cooler.  I thought I would float near the kids but right from the start I started floating away from my group, so one of the guides pushed me back so I could tie on. I also recommend bringing a dry bag if you bring anything along (I brought a few hats, sunglasses, rash guards, etc for the kids).  We also went with two regular tubes (the orange ones) and two upgraded tubes (the blue ones, which have a built-in headrest).  I preferred the blue raft by far, but my daughter didn't like it (I think because of her size, she was more falling in the center). About 1/3 of the way, there were photographers waiting along the shore to take our photos, which came out nice (but cost extra, I think $20 per pic). We stopped about halfway at an island, where you can hang out.  We checked out the island, went swimming, and relaxed. Lots of folks were wading, eating, and relaxing. The kids found a young frog that still had a tadpole tail, and also saw fish, crayfish, snails and geese.  They brought their goggles so they could go for a swim and see what is in the water. The tubing trip was very well done.  The guides (Ken and Kyle) gave us clear directions, and kayaked along with everyone during the trip to help direct people and offer assistance when needed.  When we got separated, a guide was right there to push us back together, and another time when we drifted too far to one side of the river, the guide pulled us back to where we needed to be. I definitely enjoyed this tubing trip.  It was fun and relaxing, and nice to try something new.  We look forward to going back with friends! My recommendations: Get there early (at least the 30 minute recommended time). Be prepared with reservations and gear What to bring: Swimwear Water shoes / sandals that can go in the water Suncreen Drinks Food - everyone seemed to be snacking at our halfway stop and we wished we had brought some food! I give three stars because a few staff members were very kind and understanding. For the most part, staff were doing their best to make a really bad experience manageable. It was out of their control that the tubing trip was miserable due to an overwhelming attack of bugs the entire way down the river. Made the trip really miserable Staff can make some improvements and here are my suggestions. Don't start a trip scheduled for 2:45 45 minutes late. If that happens, offer guests something to do in your park or play some music and get a game going. Bus driver seemed like he had been smoking meth. Sorry but I don't know how else to describe his driving. It was generally unsafe. Also, don't overcrowd the bus. No one should be standing. It's dangerous. Don't have guests wait in the water until everyone gets in. We've already been waiting long enough. Have staff go out first on the canoe so they can direct guests on their river trip while others are getting in. Also, there was only one staff member directing 30+ people onto the river one at a time. She did a great job but she could have used some help to expedite tubers. Come prepared with bug spray and first aid. No one could have predicted the bug attack but it's good to come prepared so that guests could have been offered spray and ointment for bites on the river. We also could have ended the trip earlier. A lot of guests were miserable and ready to get off of the river well before the two hours. Don't load the bus on a road where cars are speeding through. It's extremely dangerous! I heard a staff member yelling "car" and "get out of the road" several times. This could have been avoided by parking in a safer spot, having staff direct traffic, loading the bus with tubes in a more organized and efficient manner. We also could have been offered waters and games as a distraction from the road so that people weren't just standing in the middle of a dangerous road. Lastly, since our trip was so awful, instead of asking if we had a good time or saying "we picked the wrong day to go tubing", offer us a reason to come back such as gift certificate to your park or a future tubing trip. read more

We floated today with Grace and Kyle, who were amazing!! They helped our group of 12 navigate the rocks and fast waters! The trip was relaxing and lots of fun! Great for all ages, our 4 year old loved the float in her square tube with a bottom! They had ropes so we could tie our tubes together and all float as a big group! Recommend for a fun and relaxing afternoon!! Don't forget to pack snacks and drinks, as you can have them on the river and you stop to snack and swim, too! read more

Sadly, we had a subpar experience with Adirondack adventure center. We showed up and the water cannons we ordered online were "back ordered".. but they're happy to charge money online. The drive to the river was very bumpy and while that wasn't the company's fault, the second bus driver we had was rude when we asked if we could sit up front because our son gets nauseous. Tubes were worn and dirty. There are lots of choices for this type of activity. For what this company charges, they can run a smoother operation. read more

Considering the difficult circumstances with COVID, the staff did a great job of keeping everyone as safe and comfortable as possible. Before we left, the guides reviewed the spots of the trip where maintaining social distancing would be difficult, and offered to refund anyone who decided this trip wasn't for them. Although we agreed we were comfortable participating, I appreciated this offer and transparency. Nate and Zach were great guides, who were interactive and fun during the trip! We did the "white water rafting" experience with Adirondack Adventure Center, and we had a great time! The rapids were class 1, 2, and 3 (apparently, per our guide, they go up to 5, where 6 is a waterfall) so pretty mild - and while I might have liked a little more adrenaline, we still got some fun bumps. The guide was great, and masks were required on the bus, which made us feel safe. In the middle, we went through a calm part, where we got to hop out of the boat and swim around in the warm river water - so nice on a gorgeous day. A really fun way to spend a couple of hours! One note - if you want photos, they take a few at the end, but they're not awesome...however, you'll need a waterproof camera situation to get anything yourself. read more

This is my 5th year coming to Adirondack Activity center. We have done river rafting, I absolutely love the lazy River tubbing. The best 3 hrs of our trip. the staff is very polite, informative and friendly. Our guide this year was Jack & Damian. They both were on point and hard working. We were looking for a family friendly excursion to do during our time in lake George. White water rafting was a popular suggestion by other families so we looked it ip and came across a few options but choose the Adirondack adventure Center honestly because they were least expensive at $36 for adults and $32 for kids under 12. Now some people will say you get what you pay for but I think this crew went above an beyond to make sure everyone was safe but had an excellent time. We checked into the center at 12p and left promptly to the river at 1230p. The ride is on a bus and took about 15 mins. Once at the destination we unloaded the boats and got into our assigned groups. There are 8-10 people on each boat so if your group is no that big they will seat you with a another party. We were on the river by 1pm and the ride down was about 40. There was a small cluster of rapids in the beginning that took about 3 mins to go through then it was like a lazy river for about 25 mins. Our guide Ryan let the kids (10 &11) jump out of the boat to swim in the river which they thought was so much fun. Once everyone was back in the boat we kit another group of rapids that took us about 10 mins to go through. The rapids were not big but definitely enjoyable and we definitely got more than a little wet. Here is also where the company has a camera man set up taking pics of your boat. Right after the rapids you come up to the loading dock where everyone exits the boat and loads up to go back to the Adventure center. I will say that the center offers a combo of a tree top ropes course with rafting package and if We had more time to spend we would have definitely done both! Family fun, this rates 10/10, thrill I would say 5/10, but we would definitely do it again. read more
