Do not use Ye Olde Locksmith if you value your time, because they certainly do not value your time. I had used them in the past with great success. However, when I called them to get a lock repaired and two others replaced, I wound up waiting for days and still do not have the work done. I called on Tuesday and asked whether they would have time this week, as I was on vacation. I was advised that they could be there the following day, late morning. I called at 2pm and was told that the locksmith would be there shortly. I advised that I had to leave at 4pm. The person on the phone said "Well, you didn't tell us that." I responded "Well, you told me you would be here late morning and it didn't seem relevant." At 3:45 I called and they said a locksmith would be by the following day. 1 day of vacation wasted. The next morning, the locksmith showed. He said that he needed to get some parts and would be back later that afternoon. I was hopeful. Naively hopeful. He did not show or call. 2nd day of vacation wasted. Friday morning I call to ask whether today will possibly be the day that I will finally get the work done. I was put on hold and the person came back to say that the parts were in a bag in the office. At this point, I am once again naively hopeful. I say "Great! What time will he be by?" Then I am told that the locksmith is not working today. I explain (surprisingly calmly) that I have been waiting for days and am going out of town the following week and this is very disappointing. The person tells me that the locksmith had to deal with transponder keys for a bunch of cars and he worked until after 5. The way he said it, he seemed to think this was entirely reasonable and I should be more understanding because the guy worked late. He did not work late for me. He then asks me when I will be back so they can do the work. Needless to say, my naive hopefulness has now been extinguished. He never offered to send another locksmith. He didn't even offer a particularly sincere apology. Now I will not be able to get my lock fixed before I leave and I have wasted days of my vacation. So, if you like waiting around and the excitement of the uncertainty of whether you will actually get the work done, by all means Ye Olde Locksmith is the place for you. Otherwise, look elsewhere. read more

So I never really thought about what a locksmith really does. I figured I'd only need one some day when I locked myself out and couldn't find any keys, but that had yet to arise in life. Recently, however, I discovered something amazing - locksmiths do a whole lot more! We moved into a place and the landlord couldn't find a key to all the different locks on the doors. Each door (3 of them) had different keys and it was possible the deadbolts even had different keys. And we had one key...that only worked in one door. The landlord suggested we take the door locks here. Turns out its possible to have locks rekeyed! We brought this place the locks and the one key. The locksmith, in a matter of hours, had it so all the locks worked to one key. Now we have several copies of a key that works on all the doors in the house. Sure, we could have bought new locks and maybe even managed to get a set with enough locks, but for close to the same price, I'm happy to not waste stuff. I lost my Subaru fob and the dealer wanted to charge me $1, 200 to make two keys. The dealer told me there was no other way to get the keys. When I called Ye Olde locksmith, they were able to accomplish this for me for $300. They were very nice, polite, and courteous. Spent 2 days with seem to be the owner for a price to replace locks from an emergency which was express to him. Just wanted to protect family and over the course of the 2 days sent pictures, 3-4 calls for follow up to make sure they had it and no call. Called back to get same person, owner, for him to say they have been busy no one got a chance to look at it. My company has done business in the past with them so I would be afraid if you are new. BE AWARE BEFORE U GO HERE. They massed up our key and initially admitted that it was their fault. They even said they were going to bring it to lexus dealership. But when we handed the document to the lady there, she was refusing to reimburse us and she tried to call the police and kick us out. That's how they run their business. Called and made appointment for re-keying a lock. I was told next day was good and that I would get a call 30 minutes prior to visit. I was not called all day so I called near end of day and was told that worker called three times and left message. This was a clear lie as I had and used my phone all day and can show no missed calls and no messages. Person I spoke to at shop was very rude. I have had the worst experience today with this company! We needed a person to come make a car key. At first the man on the phone was polite and told us that someone would be there to assist us in 40 minutes... Over an hour later we called and they said they made the key and were driving our way. Then 40 more minutes later we called back they said 40 more minutes and told us we needed to pay over the phone now. We told them that we would pay when they arrived. They again wanted payment over the phone and we said we would pay once they showed up. A while later we called and asked them how much longer and the man, Mic, began to yell at me. He continued his tirade and was incredibly rude. He told me the technician was no longer coming. When we called back he said he wouldn't do business with us because of how he was spoken to.... I never raised my voice, I never said an impolite word, I asked how much longer until the technician arrived, it had been over 2 and a half hours, he refused to come do the job he had promised and continued to yell at us, actually yell, voice raised and rude words. Do not do business with this company. They have a low to non existent sense of professionalism, they yell at their customers, and they demand payment for services they don't provide. It was an over all horrible experience! I have since called two other lock smiths in the area and have been very very pleased with their professional services. Look elsewhere for service! read more
