I recently needed a new fob for my car. I was told to go to one locksmith on route nine. When I walked in, the guy could've hardly cared about my request. I was told that he could reprogram it, but he couldn't guarantee that it would work. Due to his attitude, I decided to leave. I was suggested to go to Mangone in Clifton Park. I was treated with such kindness, caring, employees, and all around good guys. They were able to get my new fob programmed. They went into the car to make sure it worked. Needed duplicate keys cut for emergency support of an elderly parent's home and needed the keys to be right the first time so going to Mangione Locksmith was the best choice to make. I had a really great experience at this shop. I lost the keys to my shed with all my tools ,etc. in it and lots of time sensitive projects on hold. Fortunately the lock had a code and I remembered the name stamped on the key. It took us two tries but they persisted and the second time was the lucky charm. I was having trouble installing a door latch and found this Locksmith on Yelp. I used the, "Request a Quote" feature and got an almost immediate and professional response. After sending some pictures to them and some emails they offered me a quote and explained if they could not perform the task I would not have to pay. We then set an appointment for the upcoming weekend between 9-1. Edward Hannon called ahead to confirm the appointment and arrived when he said he would. Ed was professional and friendly and not only did what was asked, he also went above and beyond in two specific ways and as such was worth every cent I paid. First, he did a great job installing the latch. Then, he spent some time working on making the door a little less of a tight fit and explained that this was probably most easily fixed by sanding the top corner. By giving me this advice, which I took, the door now takes less force to pull and push which puts less strain on the handle and will increase its life span. I believe that the last door handle probably broke because the door stuck so much so this advice was a good long term solution to not needing a new door handle in a couple more years. Then, just as an after thought, without my asking, Ed went ahead and tightened the entrance door handle to my garage and locked it on his way out! This simple and courteous gesture along with his good advice were not things he needed to do and which in my view set him and his organization apart from others. I definitely would turn to Ed and this Locksmith again if I ever needed them and would not hesitate to pay them what they are worth. read more

The good folks at Ed Mangione (my locksmith) changed all of my locks when I bought a house last year, and made up two replacement transponder keys for me recently. Service is friendly, fast, and educational! If you happen to need replacements for those expensive transponder keys for your car, consider calling them instead of a dealer. Keys came in about a week and were programmed appropriately. (By the by, there's some special programming that needs to happen with these kinds of keys, involving some equipment that plugs into your car. Not a DIY kind of thing.) Absolutely delighted. The battery in my car died; the key fob would not open it; the mechanical key that I had did not fit (used car, long story). I called Edward Mangione's and got a quote for getting the car open (WAY less expensive than replacing a broken window, which was the only other way into the car). Long story short - within 30 minutes of making the call to Mangione's, I was siting in my car. The gentleman that came out to provide the service was utterly professional, knew exactly what to do, and did not damage my car in any way - no scratches on the door, the lock worked fine after he opened it, and he explained what he was doing each step of the way. Top notch! Having a door problem across the continent in NY and being the guy responsible to coordinate the repair from CA has numerous headaches...but not with Mangione Locksmiths! These guys were fantastic! I first sent an email way after hours and they responded in minutes. They did everything they could to get out to the location, inspect, order hard to find parts, and get everything fixed without issue. Excellent response. I was locked out of my house and within 5 minutes, Nick, a friendly young man showed up at my door. He carefully tried to open the door with picks and other instruments in order to save the lock. That was unsuccessful so he resorted to the tried and true method of drilling out the old lock. Replaced the lock with a new one that is actually better than the original lock and handle. Very professional, quality work, pleasant and friendly people to work with. Wow. I truly cannot say enough good things about Ed Mangione and his shop. I just went in there with a mortice lock from my 1920s door and did not have much hope for it being able to be fixed. Ed was able to fix the part that I inadvertently screwed up and gave us replacement parts and told us all about how the lock works. He is a man that truly loves his job and has a passion for what he does. I can absolutely appreciate that and highly, highly recommend anybody see him if they have any problems with locks or door handle mechanisms or anything like that.
