No one explained to me what that meant; no one told me that my kitten had a serious, contagious illness that would affect him for the rest of his life. I am not a veterinarian. I am just someone who wants to love a cat. If someone had taken a moment to explain what "FeLV+" meant, to clarify that it was feline leukemia, that it could shorten his life, and that it could endanger my other cat, I would have been able to make a fully informed decision about how to protect him and my home. Instead, I found out what it meant only after falling in love with him. After I had already brought him home. After I watched him get sick, I was terrified, not knowing what was happening or how to help him at first. I don't regret adopting him -- not for a second. He is part of my family now, and he is deeply loved. However, the way his condition was communicated caused an enormous amount of unnecessary heartbreak and fear that could have been avoided with a simple, honest conversation. Please prioritize speaking clearly about health conditions like FeLV for the sake of future cats and adopters. A simple explanation could spare someone else from confusion, guilt, or loss and give cats like mine the extra protection and understanding they deserve from the start. This is the first review I've ever left, and I feel wrong going lower because Ducky is still alive, and my older cat is vaccinated. The visit was thorough and we received a follow up call on Luna's bloodwork to confirm she was on the correct medication for her seizures. The vet also confirmed the best rotation to give her pills (thanks for settling a debate with my husband!). Price is subjective based on what you're used to and your budget. For us, fairly similar and it was a relief to get a home visit. We plan on being a regular customer.

This is the way to go for pet exams. It was less stressful for both cats...and myself. It seemed safer as well, I have always disliked packing my cats up in the car and risking them getting loose as well as eliminating all the fussing they did in the vehicle. It was perfect just to bundle each cat up separately and walk outside to their vet unit. Shout out to Sarah who has been great at talking to us about our oldest buddy and helping us understand what he's going through. Our little guy has a medical condition and severe separation anxiety so we needed a local sitter to take care of him while we were away. I had a consultation call with Rebecca first and she carefully listening to my crazy mom dog list of concerns. Then we completed Zoom virtual "meet and greet" with Mel and found him to be a perfect fit. We received pictures of our boy while we were away and he settled in so easily we were almost a little jealous (kidding). Writing a quick update to shout out our great vet office once again!…read more We had to visit the Cherokee Animal Clinic twice recently -- to get our Boston terrier/pug, Millie, her annual shots and check up and when she got a bad stomach bug that lasted for a few days. We were able to get visits scheduled pretty quickly -- for the next day in the case of the stomach bug. We never have to wait long to be seen once we arrive, and the staff shows Millie genuine affection and care. On our most recent visit, she snuggled up with the nurse a bit when the vet was looking her over. I trust them when they say if something is worth another look. And everything they have prescribed has always worked. After taking some medicine and changing her food for a few days -- as well as refraining from giving her any more pork products; our bad! -- Millie is now doing much better. We were lucky to have found a vet office that we trust so much.

It's hard to find a vet who is good with big dogs(Sheep, my baby, is a Great Pyrenees and 120 lbs, will include a photo) and my last time at the clinic, I had such a wonderful experience. But what I experienced during my last visit was absolutely horrible. James Grace was extremely impatient, aggressive, and honestly terrifying. He cut my dogs nails so badly they bled(all of them, not just one), pulled his leg out aggressively, and was not gentle or kind to anybody in the clinic, even his fellow staff. Nothing was explained to us( we took our dog in for allergies), and we were given meds that we had no idea how to use. He told us our dog had fleas. We took our dog to another vet, who combed out his fur and looked for flea dirt and other signs. We were told that he has no presence of fleas from that vet. My dog, who is the happiest, most trusting guy in the world, was shaking from anxiety during and after due to James Grace's behavior. I understand that people have bad days. However, I was then contacted by them after complaining, and told that they thought that I was rude, and essentially that I was a liar. I was not contacted by the clinic, but someone named Peggy who works for them I assume. I was told that James Grace has been a doctor there for 45 years, and is the reason the clinic is still open, because he is,"quick and sees double the patients the other vets do", therefore, there is no possible way that he could've hurt my animal. I was told that I didn't like that he is shy and doesn't like to talk(which is not true, honestly prefer it). His family is also the founders of the clinic. Perhaps that day I was stressed out, and was short with the staff. That's on me, and is unacceptable. I don't know how that translates to being so cruel to an innocent creature. Honestly, when they contacted me, all I wanted was to be told that they were sorry for such a traumatizing experience. They took no responsibility in how their veterinarian acted. I was told that James Grace is caring, shy, and an amazing person. I wish my baby got that man instead of what we saw at our visit. I'm not sure what exactly we did to them. Maybe it was our vibe. Maybe it was that my partner and I are two queer people covered in tattoos and are alternative. Maybe it was just our faces. That's all fine if they hate us. But our sweet baby boy did nothing to them, and no innocent animal deserves to be scared. My dog loves the vet, he loves bathes, fireworks, everything. He is not an anxious dog. I'm afraid he is now. I'm genuinely shocked as to how much they've gone off the deep end. I'm not saying that this clinic hasn't been great, they have. I guess not anymore. There are two sides to every story, and they've made it very clear that they are taking no ownership in their employees behavior, and will defend him no matter what. That's fine. But I don't know what kind of Mom I would be if I didn't try and warn over pawrents about such a dangerous establishment. I really hope and pray that they can turn things around and get back to the clinic we all have known and loved for years. I also really hope and pray that people are made aware of this, that they correct this behavior, and nobody ever has to go through what we went through.

He was blocked up for at least 1 week and could not have a bowel movement which is life threatening. Dr Gayheart and others did the proper procedures with blood work, xrays and exam where they saw the blockage immediately...he was diagnosed with Mega Colon, after 1 week at the vets he came home a happy unblocked baby with a bag of special diet food which has helped him tremendously! They called us everyday to let us know the updates on Grayson, very caring and concerned. We highly recommend giving this vet a call! Very reasonable prices too!
