That trip will cost around $5. A taxi here from the city will take about 20 mins and cost around $45. The stop is right at the racecourse, so you can head straight in. If you can't find your way, don't worry - all service staff are marvellous and supremely helpful so they'll show you. The main bar and eatery is on the ground floor right near the mounting yard and there's another dining area two levels up. The TAB wagering staff are very helpful too - handy for someone like me from interstate who's not familiar with local practices. Grandstands and views are good, commentary is helpful and seating is comfortable. It's great and I will definitely return.

The village is a Lycra wonderland and previous a chance to rub shoulders with the likes of Cadel Evans and Lance Armstrong. The mechanics have a million things to do but they'll be happy to tell you about it and Jane Riley might even grace you with her annoying presence. The village has now extended to most of Victoria Square and it is about the only time of the year that the square is actually utilise well. You can get all your merchandise and even whisper a few sweet nothing's in Eddy Merckx's ear.

Every year as the Santos Tour Down Under rolls into town the accompanying Tour Village gets bigger…read moreand bigger. Located opposite the Adelaide Hilton in Victoria Square, the Tour Village is where so much of the action both pre and post race happens and it's always buzzing. The village is open to the public and you can watch the mechanics prepare the bikes for the next day's racing. The village is open on the 1st Sunday (Jan 15) before the city circuit between 9am and 12.30pm and then all day on Monday (Jan 16). This is actually a rest day for the riders but you can be sure there will still be plenty of activity in the village. Its then open from Tuesday Jan 17 to Saturday Jan 21 between 4pm and 7pm and there's never any shortage of activities or entertainment. Watching the teams' mechanics doing their work before and after every race is a huge draw card for cycling enthusiasts. Find an English speaking one and they're always happy to chat or you can try out your Italian, French or Spanish if you're keen. This year the Village will be expanded to include the northern side of the Vic Square where organisers are setting up an interactive bike expo.

Marion Bowland is by far the coolest bowling alley I have been to. It's not often that I go and…read morehave a game, however this bowling alley in the heart of Westfield Shopping Center at Marion seems to hook me in every now and again. The entrance is pretty cool for a bowling alley with a thin long corridor well lit with neon lights before entering the 20 or so lane alley. They have a cafe and a bar in there with a jukebox that can play any music you want (it is coin operated and has a good variety of songs spanning across the genres). In terms of pricing and food, Marion Bowland does well. Around $13 for a game throughout the week or 2 games for $20 is excellent value. That price includes the shoe hire, and unlike other bowling alleys, the shoes are actually pleasant and do not smell like sweat. Food is great. They have the standards such as hotdogs, chips and burgers, along with a few nicer items on the menu too such as sandwiches. I had a hotdog at Bowland when there a little while back. The sausage was lean and well cooked, the bun was soft and fresh and the condiments of tomato sauce and American mustard were well dispersed. Bowling balls come in many sizes, so you can easily pick the one to suit your bowling style. I generally pick one of the lighter ones - just personal preference. The computer displays are clear and easy to read. They are also easy to setup. Just a tip though. If you are going at a busy time of the week, such as the weekend or Friday night, then you will need to book as the alley will be packed. Also, watch out for school holidays as they can be very busy here too. Overall, an excellent bowling experience. You will not be disappointed.

It offers a bar, café, arcade games, function rooms for party's. There are about 20 lanes, can get busy, recommended to book. . Prices are good we went on a sat night was $14 for 1 game or $20 for 2 games. Had a happy hour on at the bar. The lanes have lighting effects and a large screen showing music clips, there is also a juke box there so you can pick your own song if you wanted. Can win prizes while bowling if you get good points and strikes or half strikes. Great atmosphere.

Suddenly my ricochet technique wasn't so hot, and I was getting a record number of gutter balls. Fast forward several years and I'm still a fan of the bumpers, and I love a game every now and again. AMF Bowling Noarlunga is in the big clump of recreational facilities near the Colonnades Shopping Centre. It's got everything you'd expect, a snack bar, arcade games, and of course 10-pin Bowling. You pay per game, per person, and it can get pretty expensive. Especially when you're playing multiple games. This is great for some spur of the moment fun. All you need to bring along are a pair of socks, everything else is provided for you. But that's pretty much like most bowling alleys. The people were friendly, the place was clean, it's just maybe not as big as some other AMFs.

It's not quite as good as Marion Bowland in terms of food quality and the shoe hire experience, however it is price comparative, and when/if you sign up with their club program, it can be very affordable for a couple of games. They have a small arcade, however they don't really have that many arcade machines and quite a lot of the time, they are packed with people so you can't really use them. The prizes from the tickets are also quite scabby, just like the other AMF centres I have been to, they only have a few good items and even with $8 worth of games, you may be lucky to get a glow in the dark bat or a couple of chocolate bars. They do have unlimited bowling occasionally, however I don't really go bowling enough to take advantage of that deal. If you bowl often though, the price can be very enticing. Be careful of the shoe hire though, the shoes can be very uncomfortable (when compared to Marion Bowland) and can sometimes smell quite sweaty. Also, on two occasions, they gave me the wrong size shoes, even when I told them my size. In terms of the bowling experience, the television display with scores is quite well laid out and easy to operate with the game of bowling. Staff are generally friendly, however don't show a great deal of enthusiasm. Wouldn't recommend the food as much as other bowling alleys though as the hotdogs I have had there tasty a tad overcooked and most of the menu consists of cheap packaged food such as chicken nuggets. In all, a good experience. I do recommend booking though.

I admit, I haven't been there as much as I have many of the other clubs in Adelaide, but I have always enjoyed myself when I did. Para Hills has a very sizable club house where they host weekly Bingo and other community activities. Outside are three greens, 2 grass and one Synthetic, and although the grass tracks have been a little scratchy over the years, they are definately on the improve! Night owls is run every Wednesday Night during the season and is pretty popular, so make sure you book a team in early! They also have a restaurant, Chillo's, that run Tuesday Through to Saturday nights from 5:00pm until 9:00 pm. I haven't tried them yet, but I will be sure to write an update when I do. One thing that really impressed me about the club is the outdoor 'alfresco' area they have at the side of their clubrooms. It is a huge undercover bbq area that resembles a beer hall (and I am sure resembles one even more after some pennant games!). Make sure, if and when you head to the club, to have a chat to the greenkeeper if he is around. I have known him for many a year and he will quite happily have a brew with you and share a yarn.

Actually on the inside it doesn't look so bad after a coat of paint every few years or so - but what a rare and wonderful thing this is if you haven't tried indoor go karts you haven't had the thrill of the fumes and the throbbing headache, it's a really unique experience. About $50.00 will give you a great time. That will include becoming a member so you get members prices which is a reasonable discount - it means you will save money if you plan on being a return customer - and once you have done it you will want to do it again. It's not just that, you can skirt around shooting lasers at each other if you have a group of up to ten - or a large refugee family (like me) who just adore the idea of zapping each other with lasers that can't hurt you but they insist on yelling "You're dead!" and worrying people simply because they could be Middle Eastern. For $30.00 you get a solid hour of fun, and if you pay the $5.00 membership for a year you get moderate discounts. You do have to book, you can go for two hours and double the money etc. But seriously after an hour of being shot by the kids, mainly the 19 - 25 year olds who just love it in my tribe, that's enough - time to meditate and pray to Ganesha! Seriously this place is great - open from midday until late, it is the best place for dangerous indoor fun; it's either this or milking the black snake in front of the TV. A few different options as far as driving your go cart - which you hire like a dodge 'em car. Think ice skating but way more deadly and nowhere near as much contact with a wet floor.

This included a 10 lap practice round followed by 3 races with the winners, points and lap times per race being recorded (which we got a copy of after the race) and a trophy being given out to the racer with the highest points at the end of the races (no extra charge [and a half decent trophy too!]). Overall I'd definitely go there again and recommend it to anyone looking for a bit of family friendly type fun.

It's so chilled that pedestrians cut across the fairways on their way home from work, don't hit the office people man! The official policy on alcohol is: no! However, the bins were loaded with empties (even spotted a porno in one!). So use your (best) judgment. $14.50 for adults, $11 for twilight. Clubs are $3 each to rent. As the Pro Shop closes at 5pm you need your own clubs to play twilight. 20% discount on green fees for Adelaide city council residents. Also, there's a twofer in the entertainment book.

Supa golf has bigger golf balls and clubs and gets a golf buggy to push around with 4 clubs in. It has 18 holes on the course. We went on a hot day but the place has shaded areas in. This place has its own car park and a shop which sells drinks and where you hire your golf clubs from cost was only $15.00 each. Didn't book was quite busy but did go on a public holiday did get quieter as we got though a few holes. Will defiantly go again great day out spent about 3 to 4 hours there in total.

It certainly does look more slick than the average Adelaide skatepark. Accordingly, national skating events are now held out here - it trumps the city parks now. I certainly had a good time, but I still don't know what I'm doing. According the skateboard website skateboard.com.au's park review section Osbourne has "mini, large extension/hip, there is also a large street course with some really fun aspects including banks, large stair set, euro, rails and ledges." I can't say I really know what that means. Anyway, if you're into skateboarding, you almost certainly know more than me. If your kids are into skateboarding, they'll probably end up wanting to go here at some point. I'll probably stick to the nice, boring, easy park round the corner from my house.
