I have never more happy about a decision I've made. Not only has she drastically improved in just two years, getting a title, scholarships and awards to boot. But, more importantly we've found a new incredible family. These kids and parents all truly care about each other and it's so beautiful. No drama just unbelievable support and great vibes. The teachers are the most amazing humans who truly care about your kid and have a great balance of cheering them on and guiding them to their best potential. I adore every single one of them. They have given my daughter (and I) so much love and support that I'm forever grateful for. I also take their adult classes which has been the most amazing experience for me as well. Yes, it's great fitness and fun. But it has also honestly been such a light in my life on my darkest days and been so great for my mental health. She is always so helpful and responsive, patiently answering parent questions and making sure everything runs smoothly. We are not long with the dance center but after watching the recital, I am really happy with them…read more We discovered this dance center during COVID pandemic where the kid has more time after school and it's nearby where we live. We joined midway of the school year around March. Being a total newbie, I emailed the dance center and got a really detailed explanation and some videos for me to decide what level I should sign my kid up for. They had classes outdoor in person as well as online. During the program, Leann, the center manager is always helpful to my questions. Turns out she's one of the great dance teacher too! The dance recital was in June and it was held in the park nearby. I like this setting for kids because the kids can watch all other dance performance and be exposed to a various kinds of dances. The teachers are very accommodating for the little ones. There's a little one crying before getting on the stage and the teacher picked her up and danced the whole song on stage with the kiddo in her arms! They have performance teams going for competitions and you can see the skills are a bit better than the regular classes. I would say the focus of this center is not to get winning is so many competitions, but more on getting the kids to enjoy dancing and get them moving. My kid joined a hip hop class with Veksler when she was 5 and she wasn't into it as it was much more focused on the performance. Now that she's older and we let her try Jazz and she likes it much better, so I'm happy of the result.

It is much worse than before since it changed ownership. They change the rule you can do the make up class, the owner always afraid other adult will take more make up classes, treat other like thief. We feel so lucky and fortunate to have found this wonderful dance school. My daughter takes Chinese Dance with Ms. Tan. Ms. Tan is an excellent teacher, who supports and encourages the girls in their dancing. We have a dance mom who keeps us, parents informed of costumes, tickets, practice schedules, etc. The dance recitals are very well organized and are held at West Valley College. Flash photography is prohibited during the show because when a flash of a camera goes off and a performer happens to be looking directly at it, they can, and do; sometimes get temporally blinded seriously compromising their ability to see on stage. Yaoyong Dance wants to keep the dancers safe and they do prohibit flash photography during the show. Yaoyong encourages parents to video tape and take photographs during dress rehearsal. This seems perfectly fair and reasonable to me. We have been very happy with Yaoyong Dance for the last three years!!!

This dance academy isn't for the faint-hearted, the teachers really push the kids hard and demand a lot of discipline from their students. They only invest heavily in students that show talent at a young age and cycle them through competitions to win awards. In other words, this is a place that is looking to make winners and make them fast. If your child is looking for growth and improvement, this place is probably not for you. By weeding out the kids that can't take the conditioning and practice, this dance academy directs their focus to the few that have a chance of making it big at competitions. The only issue is that the drop-in trial class was about twice the cost of ballet classes I have encountered at home or elsewhere (including NY, Paris, and Hawaii), but on a one-time basis, it was well worth it.

Victoria simply let her sit there and observe. 3 years later, my daughter got her skills as well as her confidence from Victoria's ballet. She practices 3-4 times a week but never complains. In fact, inspired by her I started taking the adult class from Victoria this year and so far really enjoy it. I love the fact that she deeply cares about her students, kids or adults, and she wants to let everyone truly understand and appreciate the beauty of ballet.
