She sees each child's potential and knows how to bring out the best in them, while always being patient and supportive. She also helps build their confidence, which has meant so much to us. When my daughter first started, she couldn't even do an arabesque. Over the years, with Ms. Inna's guidance, she has grown tremendously and is now performing solos, dancing leading roles, and doing very well in competitions. During these years, I have had experienced at least 4-5 different Chinese dance schools. Most of them didn't care much about adult dance lessons. Younger kids are their main focus and revenue source. While newly founded APAPA-USA offers pretty impressive kids & teen dance programs, they treat adult dance lessons as a serious business. The owners are extremely diligent & friendly. The curriculums are well designed for beginners, intermediate and more advanced students. All the instructors came from their own professional background as former world-class dance performers, directors & choreographers. They share the genuine passion and respect toward dance art that you can easily tell from the quality of teaching. Being with APAPA-USA for little over one year only, I literarily feel that my dance skills improved probably more than what I had achieved during past five years. I was looking for a school with good ballet technique training and was referred to RMSB by a ballet…read moreteacher in my daughter's former dance studio.  The referring teacher was a great dancer with a ballet company and I thought I had to give RMSB a try.  I observed the performance of RMSB students in YAGP and was very impressed.  We joined the RMSB family rightly after.   Mr. Ramon is a very kind teacher.  He does his best to care for all students regardless of talents.  Kids fear his strict corrections yet love him as a teacher.  He gives all students an opportunity to perform and compete, when students are motivated to do so.  Other teachers at the school, Ms. Sharon, Ms. Ally and Mr. Alex are all wonderful teachers.  Mr. Ramon also invited various master class teachers in spring and summer to teach at RMSB.  Students benefit from learning with teachers of different styles and strengths.    The most that my daughter loves about the school is the bonding of students.  Parents host several parties throughout the year at the school, Christmas, birthday parties, spring.  Kids and parents have wonderful times hanging out.  My daughter developed good friendship with several students at the school. I am happy she is enjoying her teen years while working really hard.   My daughter has been with RMSB since 2018.  Her technique and stage presence have improved tremendously as a result of ample competition and school performance experiences.  She has won awards every year in major competitions since joining RMSB.  The choreography of Mr. Ramon's and Ms. Sharon's really showcased my daughter's strength.  This is a very good school.

In many ways, I grew up at the SJ School: I remember the twice a week lessons, with Mrs. San Juan simultaneously playing the piano while also watching and coaching us; I remember the Goodship Lollipop costume, the yearly RAD exams, the indulgence of occasionally stopping at Baskin Robbins for Gold Medal Ribbon ice cream after class. I am 32 now, and haven't formally danced since I put away my purple ballet bag. Yet, I can trace so much of who I am now to the lessons I learned at the SJ School. You can breathe better when you are smiling. Focus. Work hard and your efforts will pay off. Do your best. Concentrate. I walk with confidence, balance in almost any situation, and hold my head high, all thanks to Mrs. San Juan.

This studio is split into two sections, in my opinion: the Ballet part and everything else. For ballet, the school follows the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus, which has a very strong emphasis placed on technique through repetition. Class hours tend to be shorter than other studios, but the upper classes are very small (4 - 6 students) and VERY rigorous, with classes held at night with flexible hours, based on how much work the students feel they need to put in (classes often run long). Pointe students generally are not started until they reaach ten years of age, and the classes are much gentler and slower than at many other studios In terms of Other classes, the best are jazz and tap, with new classes in Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, lyrical, and others developing. There is a kind of general canon of steps taught in the jazz and tap classes, until the upper classes, in which choreography, improvisation, and performance are the focus. this is a Family Studio, with classes for babies, kids, teens, and parents/grandparents. The studio does have a dance team, but overall, this is not a competitive studio; it is good at accomodating people who aren't necessarily the best dancers or the most driven workers. If you are serious about dancing, stick around for the Advanced Ballet classes or go somewhere else. If you're a beginner, this is a good place to get into RAD syllabus (the closest other RAD studio is in Half Moon Bay) for the technique, then move to another ballet school for other aspects of dance.
