I got licensed at this school. I have to say this was the best experience and it completely changed my life. Jenn is the best. She is so sweet and was so supportive to me the whole time. The instructors poured into me as much as they could and they really made me fall in love with the entire beauty industry. GET NEW INSTRUCTORS. The one who was "overseeing" my service was abhorrent. How is she supposed to be giving instruction when she can't even do a simple haircut without effing it up?! She ignored what I asked for, got annoyed when what I wanted was not what she thought would be better, and cut my hair to her specifications without checking with the client first! Please get her to pull her head out of her ass and get more instruction from somebody who knows how to give it. She should still be a student with her BS & her garbage attitude. This "instructor" and I'm using that term loosely is lowering the standard of your school and your students. She is doing No One any favors by instructing there when she isn't actually teaching anything worthwhile. She's teaching them how to do things incorrectly and hurting a school that should be skilled. She has no skills. Do better with your staffing practices. Do Not go here unless they get new instructors. I feel sorry for the students. read more

This place is a scam, I called here to make an appointment and told them I need a root touch up and cut on a Saturday because I was going to a party and they said come at 10:30 am. I show up and they tell me because I have never been there before they can't color my hair I need to do a PRD test, on the phone the person never once asked Me that question, the person running that place with ugly orange hair was unapologetic and didn't care that I wasted time and gas and not to mention my day was ruined because I can't get a same day appointment at any other decent salon. She just told me can't help ya. Do not go here, Not worth your time. Also glad I didn't get my hair colored there the ppl there would have ruined it anyways. I will pay more any day for better service. I wouldn't go here again even it were free!! This post is written after giving this place FOUR CHANCES and getting bad services every time. I'm done hoping their management/students attitudes will change/improve. Do I have to give this place any stars? They have by far the worst customer service of any place I've ever been to. From management (which happens to be front desk clerk also) to the barbers/hair dressers. Took my son in today who had an appt and the front desk person/manager asked me to sign in which I did. Then she just said "wait" and I couldn't tell if she was talking to me or the other two ladies in front of me. She walked off and walked around to check on her students I assume. I asked her if I was waiting for someone to which she responded with, "take a seat. She will be with you". Without giving me a name of a barber or pointing to who would be cutting my sons hair. The female barber (don't have a name as she never introduced herself) had attitude from the start. I was in a good mood so tried ignoring her complete lack of any communication other than "what do you want for him" referring to my son's haircut. She was short and rude in her interaction the entire time. To make matters worse, his haircut is literally NOTHING like the picture I showed her which she barely looked at (that should have told me that she wasn't the right person and this was NOT the right place). I get that it's cheap and the students need experience but the STAFF Ann STUDENTS both need serious help on how to interact with customers or people in general. DON'T waste your time or money!! I was so impressed with my cut and color today. The staff were all friendly and my student stylist worked really hard and aimed to please me. She was professional and really pleasant. I didnt have high expectations with it being a student school salon, but I honestly was so happy. Wish I had start coming here sooner! When going to a salon, you would expect terrible service AFTER you get there, but you can get a good idea just by calling this place! I called on a Wednesday morning at 10:30 AM to know more about their prices listed on their website. The lady was so rude even on the phone!!! Start to finish excellent experience! I walked in on Thursday with my daughter to get a skin test done for color and made appointments for Saturday. Came in this morning for our cut and color and was immediately sat in a chair and things getting prepped. The students and instructors were all great! I am a former student of Adrian's Beauty College and I agree with some of these negative reviews, they definitely do allow students to steal with from you will no regard as to how you will perform the most basic of services. I was stolen from not once but THREE times because I went to the same school three times. Also the director of the school gets irritated and mad at students when they demand to know where their long overdue kits are going to be in. And not only that, but now during COVID-19 they are doing a hybrid class where certain days are online and others in person, but there is no possible way for anyone who is graduating to be able to finish their 1600 hours with what is going on in the world right now. It's a bummer that this school has no regards for its students. read more

Came here today for a facial, and let me say, I had such a great experience. For $30 you can't go wrong. Granted it is a basic facial- they don't have options like all spas or salons do, but my skin was firm and glowing afterwards. My pores looked so much smaller and my skin just overall looked much more evened out. I wasn't expecting them to have a wide variety of different products to use, but whatever was used definitely worked. I believe the student who did my facial was named Paola or Paulina, and she did such an amazing job. She took her time, approximately an hour, and was really educated on the products she was using on me and explained exactly what it did. I couldn't have asked for a better person to do my facial. She did an excellent job and didn't rush, just took her time with me. If anyone needs a basic facial for an affordable price- definitely check them out and ask for Paola/Paulina. read more

I've been to Adrian's 3x in the last year and had really good experiences each time. Until last Saturday, I drove down from Pleasanton, arrived at 4:35 (they say 'open until 6pm'), only to be rejected. I purposely didn't have an appt because A) the beauty operators told me I didn't have to have one and B) its NEVER been full and I've NEVER had to wait. Soo . . Imagine my surprise when the curt receptionist said "there's only 3 operators with 3 clients and we close at 6pm, so there's no point in even waiting.) And scene. Now granted, with all that is happening in the world, this is not a major deal, I get it. But when I walk into a big, vacuous room, with 60? empty chairs, and 90 minutes left on the clock, and you can't provide the service you advertise for, I won't be returning. I have to wonder, how much longer will Adrian's be around, or are they going bye-bye like Marinello's? I will miss the nice students, good conversations. read more

I have been going to Adrian's in Tracy almost every week since they opened over six years ago, and have always enjoyed working with the students that have done my hair, once they are ready to go on the floor after theory classes a student is selected to do my hair and if all goes well the same student will do my hair for the duration of her class. Recently they hired a new receptionist (MISTAKE) The lady they hired has NO idea of professionalism, her attitude I Don't carer or give a shit, if you don't like it go somewhere else. This woman would be better suited working in a tire warehouse or a garbage dump not a beauty school. Maybe the attitude is just towards me because I am a male what ever her problem is the school needs to address this as they have now lost me as a regular customer and others that were sitting there and witnessed the incident were also obviously concerned as well. read more

Horrible school. All they care about is collecting the money. One instructor used to leave for the day at 2:00 and put on a "how to" video for the students to watch until 5:30pm with no guidance. They filled another instructor position by promoting the 21 year old receptionist. Had to give someone a pedicure using a plastic container lined with a black garbage bag! When the owner is going to visit the school, everyone has to clean for 2 days straight and the instructors tell you to put the hours you cleaned on a task that you need to learn like 5 hours acrylic nails, 3 hours for color, 4 hours for haircuts....and they sign it off. That school should not be able to get away with this.... I didn't mention many other examples like enrolling more students then they have room for so they put them in the hallway or put new students in baby board classes which is preparing you for state board testing until they have a spot for you in the class you should be in. read more

I won't be coming back. The lady who did my nails was sweet/nice. But the fact the table is small and I have to seat in a super small chair and I'm a big girl. At the end of it I was so happy to get up and stretch. As well as she was a little scared to clean the nail paint off my skin that was close to the nail. But I get it she a student. Their customer service is AWFUL. Or more like non-existent. Their website says that beauty services are available by walk-in until 3:30 and by appointment between 3:30 & 6pm. So I called to make an appointment. The first person was rude and acted like it was ridiculous that I might want a 4:15 appointment, explaining the students all left at 3:30. Then she asked me to hold while she checked to see who might want to stay. A few minutes later someone else got on the phone, treated me like an idiot and said that the latest appointment would be 3pm. First of all, why put it on your website that you take appointments after 3:30 if you don't? Secondly, even if you can't accommodate someone, there's no need to speak to a potential customer like they're an idiot or treat them rudely. I would have been willing to change up my schedule to get there at an earlier time if they had been polite. This school is failing their students in teaching the most basic fundamental of any business- good customer service. read more

This place is a very nice place. The student who did my hair was very nice, and we also carried on an conversation, throughout. It was my first time there, and it was very cheap!!! $12+Tip=$15.--- Not bad at all:). I wanted to get my hair deep conditioned, and have my hair shaped and cut i guess you can say. It was really relaxing, having someone mess with your hair. She was very, very gentle with my hair and my scalp. After that I got my hair cut, and this was my only problem, is that I wanted my hair to be at a V-shape, because I dance, my hair needs to be long. Just to give you an Idea of how long my hair was, it was very close to my bum. Its now at mid back, and my hair is really thick and wavy. Just a little getting use to, but To be honest I'm not all that mad, because my damaged hair is basically gone, and i could just try to maintain it to stay non-split ended. But the many reason why I didn't give Adrian's Beauty College Tracy Location a 5 star is because the surrounding students, just sit at their stations, on their phones, feet on other salon chairs, and just not going through, or taking what they are suppose to do seriously. Not a Great First Impression!!!!!! Like for example; as if they were in a real working environment. Some of the girls were just too laid back, but some of the other girls were practicing hair styles,and other beauty studies. Which I found great!!! The other girls who were just sitting around, I understand it was a slow Tuesday morning / afternoon. But they need to do something at least. Other then that, i will be be going back to see how what other stuff they do, because the student who was working with me was great. If I could give zero stars I would. I was a student at this school and if you value your money and peace of mind DO NOT go here. I wish I would have been warned before signing up at this school. Ghetto as heck... There were students yelling and cussing at the teachers in class and no one got written up or suspended. There were constantly arguements between students because everyone talks crap about everyone there and of course theres those select few that just feed off starting drama with everyone. The "financial aid" guy is extremely unprofessional and seems to think he runs the school. The air conditioning and heater was constantly breaking and we were told to "bring a fan" and were lied to that the air conditioning company had been called when they werent. The school also charges you for any hours that you miss! What kind of crap is that!?!? So if you miss a day of school you have to PAY for the 8 hours you missed on top of your tuition which I believe is now around $18k or $19k. So a lot of people at the end are hit with a big bill on top of your tuition that you have to pay off in order to graduate and receive your certificate. Oh and if you try to go to the director of that campus to solve any problems, thats a mistake because she doesn't care and does not to a thing about it at all. To sum it up they will talk up this school like there is no tomorrow when you go to get information. They will make it sound like the best school there is. Trust me, its not. Ive been there and I really regret going and wish I would have went somewhere else. Definately a waste of money. read more

I'm in my last month of being a student here and my experience has been great! My number one tip is to apply yourself in your learning.

I am reviewing the college as a former student. Brace yourselves, this experience was the most disgustingly vile and immature behavior I've ever seen from a business. Within my first week I was told my father was diagnosed with cancer. The day I found out I was trying my best to participate but I was not really able to focus. The teacher, Miss Elissa, asked what was wrong. When I told her she scolded me for not focusing on school work, which was harsh given the circumstances. I didn't come to school the next day and wasn't sure if I wanted to return. However, I made the mistake of going back and I found out from one girl with some sense of decency that the same teacher facilitated a class discussion about me making up my father's condition to go home and be lazy. The students were just as bad, thefts weren't prevented whatsoever and police were called regularly to break up fights. The teachers and other staff were the most sadistic, immature and unprofessional man and women I've ever had to interact with. This is the kind of grade school behavior you'd never think adults would be capable of. My father died a year later and I never got my degree, I quit due to the unnecessary bullying and the emotional and health issues I developed on top of the trauma of having a terminally ill father. If you have any empathy and they find/make up a reason, they'll make your life hell as you pay them thousands of dollars for a degree you might be able to use due to their inferior curriculum with out dated styles and kits that don't have all of the supplies they are supposed to. Go to a more reputable school nearby, it's worth the commute. read more

Getting your hair done at cosmetology school is awesome because you get good deals. Except when the school clearly teaches there students nothing. The girl who cut my hair took almost a hour to cut off 2 inches. And she was graduating in 3 months. That means more than half her education was over and it took her that long to just do a trim! I don't blame her. The instructors here are clearly a joke. One of the instructor came over and finished my cut for me, and didn't even give the student any direction on how or what to do. She was rude to the student. And had no interpersonal skills and you could just feel her negative energy. Don't only come here to get a service. Don't come here for a education. There are better schools in the area. read more
