I have had security systems in my homes for at least the last 7-8 years. I used ADT in the past in a home I used to live in Hialeah, Florida a part of Miami. I always liked the peace of mind it would give me. I want my family and home protected from criminals, fires and carbon monoxide so for me, investing in a home security system has always seemed to me a need and not a luxury. Even though I now live in a small town, Van Wert which is a much more safe place than Miami. I still believe it's best to protect the things that matter most. I hired ADT to install their system. The technician came at the appointed time and date and quickly got to work. No problems, everything was done efficiently. I have no complaints about the service they provided. I have been using their service now since February. The touch screen security system is easy to use and I love that I can arm and disarm my system with my smart phone. Had service for 3 years (only because that's the length of the contract you have to sign). Had no problems with my security system, but incurred two price raises during that time (not like you can do anything about it). If you are considering ADT you need to really weigh the 3-year contract terms. Also know that if you want to sign up, they can make that happen in 2 minutes via one phone call, but if you want to cancel or have issues it will take multiple phone calls and well over an hour to do anything at all. Very frustrating. If I were to do it over again, I would use Ring or a non-contract security system. read more

Well now, IF a company sends you a promotion in the mail, most people would expect them to honor that promotion. I just bought a house which has an ADT security system already installed. ADT sent me a promotion in the mail for $19.99 /month for the first year and $25.99 /month for the following two years if I sign a three year contract. I also had to call by the end of March, 31st. Today is the 29th. I called them and told them the promotion deal and expected to sign up with this company for three years. The customer service rep told me flat out that they don't have a promotion like that and the lowest I could ever pay is $36.99. How could I EVER trust a company with the security of my home and family if they can't even be honorable in their promotions that THEY SENT TO ME!? This company is bogus and can't honor their word. Not only will I NEVER do business with them, but I will call Simpli-Safe, install their equipment AND make sure every person I contact knows that ADT will no honor their obligations, contracts or their promotions that they send to prospective clients.
