Didn't have all our paperwork in order...ANOTHER 45 minute wait for that VID call to corporate. I paid that vehicle off and ran far away from this bank. Recently, while in Kerrville, TX I needed some change for an event I was hosting and RBFCU was the closest back to the host hotel. Left my GF in the truck and walked in with $100 needing 5s and 10s. Waited in line; approached the teller and asked for change. Simple....right? No, I'm not currently a member. My GF is and she's in the truck suffering a diabetic low guzzling soda to go back up? NO CHANGE FOR YOU! Then the drive thru where I put the same bills with her debit card. ID please?? She needs to come in front of the camera. Can't drive through because of my lifted truck! Let's get my GF out of the truck when she is shaking and sweating.... She's closing her acct too....Go eff yourself RBFCU!

The problem with RBFCU is when you call the local 830 Kerrville area code number, you get San Antonio, and they will not forward you to Kerrville, regardless of how many requests for that transfer you make. Due to that "policy", I have been reluctant to use other services, like their credit card. Every person I have talked to in San Antonio has been rude when I've asked for a line in to our local Kerrville branch and resistant to transferring my call. Resistant is the wrong word, I have never been transferred once. It appears that management is withdrawn and that customer service is not a priority, actually, it's not even a thought. The local staff has always been great, but the only way you can access them is by visiting the branch, not always convenient. Two words that I've chosen to use in this review are "transfer" and "withdrawn", I will be withdrawing all funds and transferring them to a true "local" bank as soon as it is convenient for me to get to my local RBFCU branch in person. My in-laws just moved to Kerrville and I was in the process of opening an account for them when once again I encountered the RBFCU no transfer policy, as a result I won't be recommending RBFCU to them or anyone else.

beware of Happy State Bank in Kerrville. without my knowledge and Premission they froze my account…read moreI had with my mom who passed away May of 2025. The interest earned of the funds they reported under my Social Security number to IRS on 1099. I requested a signature card for probate attorney all hell broke loose. not only did they freeze the account but they did not give me the signature card. Mind you it was a joint account and I did sign my mom's name as POA as I did not transport her to the bank. The fact I paid tax's on the interest established me as the owner of this account...I spoke to many in the ladder of management without success. So I filed a complaint with the FDIC and a few weeks later called the Borne branch to go higher up the chain and was on mission to call our US senator's office in Austin..( JC) . Well the brach manager made some calls to the Kerrville branch on Main Street. that individual called me and ... lied about the bank having a cashiers check waiting for weeks for me to pick up. ( now this is news) The fact someone in charge has the nerve to lie I find disturbing. To think they deal with money that belongs to others. I am close to 70 have never in my life had a check bounce since I have learned how to manage my checking account and write checks at the age of 17 . This ordeal is just so unprofessional I can't wait until it is a distant memory. Saying I am disappointed is putting it mildly. The lying just makes me stair into space . There are 20 plus banking institutions in the town of Kerrville with two more being built right down the street from Happy State Bank . May I strongly suggest that you thinking about doing yourself a favor and take your banking business there to the others in Kerrville and skip this one. I can't wait to get the Probate documents to go to the bank and remove the CD in my moms name. Yes it will be going else where... some where safe , professional, with banking integrity. On the two occasions I have had questions, they are dealt with immediately and with professionalism. Late last fall I received notice that my escrow was short so my payment increased. Couple months later I received a text that said I over paid and would be receiving a refund. I was confused so on March 21 Icalled the customer service number on my bill. I was informed that yes I was getting a refund and it was mailed yesterday march 20th. I waited a week and called back and was told that it could take 10 business days . Didn't make sense since it had already been sent.after 21 days, I called back. that check was cance and a new check sent. Well after a few more calls I found out that they are not really Broadway bank and they have to make a work order to cut a check. I suggested that they cut the check and send it overnigh. first I was told they do not do overnigh. I balked at this because what bank doesn't overnight. Then I was told that it would take 4 days to send because it takes 3 days to cut a work order.wow, not a good way to do busines. So here I sit, waiting again. It has now been 36 days since the original check was cut, if it was cut. Unacceptable! What would happen if my mortgage payment was 36 days late? Definitely a heap of late fees would apply. The positives: Great people, multiple branches…read more The negatives: sub par online banking experience, limited electronic funds transfer capabilities, no connections to Venmo or similar apps, daily spending limits on debit and credit card accounts. Never have I had such difficulty spending my own money. Any debit or credit purchase above ~$2500 has to be arranged for in advance with the credit union. And the pre approval doesn't always work. I'm trying to buy a laptop. The vendor says both credit and debit transactions are being declined by the credit union and the credit union says it's the vendor. I'm left having to withdraw cash and drive to San Antonio to make the purchase.
