I finally accepted an offer to refinance school expenses due to the new regulations with today's government.Let me say, any pre-qualify offers you receive from OneMain are false. They will conduct a hard pull on your credit and then deny you. In my case, as per Carrie, the sole reason I was denied is that I am allegedly not in an in-school deferment status--when I absolutely am. I have already accepted student loans for Fall and Spring and have spoken to my loan servicer several times due to this interaction.I submitted all of the official documentation given to me by my servicer, but in the end, Carrie said they cannot accept the paperwork she specifically asked me to get because they "cannot change what the Department of Education says, and they really wanted to work with you." This was after a week of stringing me along and making me jump through hoops when I could have handled business elsewhere much easier.I was on track to be completely paid off next year on an $11,000 loan, with just $3,500 left. Instead, the loan officer, Carrie, dragged my application out for a week, completely misread my credit report, and couldn't understand basic student loan statuses. Telling a client you can't accept the very documents you requested should speak for itself. I paid my loan in full today and hope to never work with these people again.

On a long shot I tried Chase, knowing I did not have enough money in my bank account to cover the check. Rachel went above and beyond, checking with her supervisor if it would be okay to honor the check. She was kind and courteous of the situation. I had previously considered closing down my Chase account to open up an account with a credit union, but finding out that I had such an awesome team of tellers near my house has completely changed my mind.
