Wife and I both have an 800 credit score. We have $1.2 million in savings, $1 million in investment property (Free and Clear).. Never missed a payment on anything in our lives. Charged $550 for an appraisal on the property for the loan. DENIED!!!!!!! WTF? If we can't get a loan, WHO CAN? My advise. Stay clear of ECU. Go online and get a better deal without all the hassle. This place is a joke.... ECU should be sued for false advertisement. Because they deffinatley (ARE NOT BESIDE YOU).

I can't say a lot of good about Chase: they were going to start charging a lot for a checking account each month, I also found a lot of restrictions. Anyways, we bid farewell to Chase and decided to go for Regions as they had branches in Bristol, Kingsport Johnson City and Knoxville; our son is a student at UTK and the branch is just off campus. Overall impressions: feels small with a bigger footprint, very friendly, budget conscious, and an overall different feel than your "big banks." People actually care, they build relationships, etc. I couldn't be happier.
