Lazer treatment here is a waste of money. I had 4 treatments, as recommended by the technician, paid $400 and it didn't work. She was also on the phone to other clients while performing my treatment, which I don't feel is acceptable but not the reason for my eating. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

I chose to get the for stop smoking. I have been a smoker for over 25 years. I was smoking anywhere from half a pack to a full pack of smokes. Was very nervous at first as I did not know how they where going to do it. The staff was absolutely awesome and made me feel a little more relaxed. On the next day I was out with a girlfriend of mine. She was smoking and I did not have any reactions, cravings. Nothing. It felt great to not have to stop and have a smoke. It is also great because now my house does not stink of cigarettes. It is now day 6 of no smoking and I still do not have any cravings. I will concur this. Definitely a bare-bones operation, but that doesn't bother me, personally. If they know what they're doing and the service is good, it's not such a big deal. I found that I was missing a fair bit of information, considering this was my first laser treatment experience, which I did tell the lady that answered the phone. 1. You have to shave the area ON THE DAY OF your treatment (not two days before, as their website states) (this includes the face, ladies....be aware of that. The alternative is to use a hair removal cream). 2. If getting underarms done, do not use deodorant, and be sure to bring/wear a tank top. 3. Make sure you get a parking stub. It's 2 hours free parking, but you run the risk of a $75 parking ticket if the stub is not displayed in your window. Overall, I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. I'm wondering if they have been reading these reviews, because they were friendlier than i expected. Also, leaving a voicemail for them works out great, sending an email doesn't. read more

So I ended up doing a year of treatments here and stopped seeing results after about session number six. I noticed the main laser technician (not the owner) was always rushing through my treatments, which was that much more noticeable when I had a session with the owner (who took her time and even marked which areas she had not used the laser on). I also started to notice that the laser wasn't hurting that much anymore, which made me think that they were not using as high a setting as needed to see results. When my voucher was done, I asked if I could purchase another year for a reduced price and told them I was concerned that I was no longer seeing results. They gave me a completely ridiculous quote for how much it would cost to continue my sessions and didn't seem fazed when I pointed out that they were STILL selling dealfind vouchers for what I originally paid. The lack of results combined with their unwillingness to give a returning customer a reasonable price made me take my business elsewhere. I regret wasting my money and time here. read more

I went for a laser session and a follow-up session to quit smoking. It worked! I have smoked for 50 years and have tried many times to quit. I didn't go through the terrible withdrawal symptoms that usually happens. I have had a few urges to smoke but nothing like I had in the past when I've tried to quit on my own. The small urges I have had were over as soon as they started. I was ready to quit but this treatment gave me the extra push to actually do it and succeed. I would recommend this procedure to anyone who needs help quitting smoking. It doesn't matter how long you have smoked. It works instantly on the day of the treatment. read more

My laser specialist (not the owner) is extremely friendly. I have never had any problems with their service, however Every laser removal place I have contacted does 5-6 week apointments, because I got a deal voucher I am only allowed to come every 8 weeks. I even asked about this and I was told I had to take it up with the owner. So the 'unlimited' voucher is not really unlimited. As everyone else mentioned it is bare bones, nothing fancy. Which does not bother me. They use a laser diode, which I had no idea about the difference in lasers. My first session I found my hair fell out quickly, and lasted. It surprised me. After session two I am finding it was not as effective as my first session. Since talking to people who had a full year of laser diode, I was told it leaves you patchy. The Laser LHE or IPL will leave you with much better results, from what I have heard. read more

Love it! They were very kind and accommodating. I am from out I town so was an hour early for my laser session however they said they were able to squeeze me in early. They were perhaps not the white sheet spa experience some would expect but really it's hair removal... Bare bones operation. Won't even let customers use the washroom. Cleanliness is questionable. Poor service. They got the appointment time wrong the first time. More interested in doing everything quickly so they can leave than in being thorough. Any questions are treated as attacks. After a disagreement, I stupidly stayed to continue the appointment--and ended up with second degree burns. In addition to several body parts, I trusted Advance with my face... she gave me these goggles and zapped away! When I took them off... I couldn't see! Actually COULD NOT SEE!!! She said it was normal and told me to sit in the dark for 10 minutes. My vision came back within a few minutes but it scared me so much that I wouldn't let them touch my face again. It has been a struggle to make appointments with them as well as getting call backs from them. I cancelled once by leaving a couple messages, several days notice and they still charged me because they claimed I didn't notify them and if I had left a message that they would have called me back. They cancel your appointment squeeze you in for 15 minutes and do a crappy job(not worth paying for ). From the moment you walk in you start questioning the cleaniliness of this place. They ask you to remove your shoes and wear one of their "slippers" which are a pair of sandals that have never be cleaned so I just walked around in my socks. They were running very behind and I waited up front for someone to come help me for 20 minutes before someone even came to greet me. There are 3 chairs to sit on in the "waiting room" which is located just outside the two service rooms where you could hear everyone talking about personal things, sometimes even embarrasing things. It then took another 15 minutes to get into the appointment and inside the room was dingy and gross looking. I took a look at the service chair which was odly discolored in spots and looked like it had never been clean. The lady who did my service was rude and abrupt and wanted me in and out of there as quickly as possible. I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing the living deal voucher because I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone adn will not be going back to finish my services. read more

I bought an unlimited laser voucher and i went for my fourth treatment the other day but i found the service horrible. I felt like i needed to buy additional treatments in order to use the unlimited voucher. I received a cold shoulder from the person who does my laser treatment. She initially greeted me but after that there was no conversation proceeding while she did the treatment. Very very poor customer service. There is no professionalism. While you are waiting for your appointment you can also hear the conversation in the room where they do the laser treatment between the client and person doing the treatments. In the room you where you have your treatment you look up and the ceiling is unfinished... The place wants you to remove your foot wear before entering the room however they provide you slippers which are so disgusting and worn out who knows whose feet have been in them. Very unsanitary. This place look likes something out of a back alley. I'm surprised it is still open. It's unclean and filthy unlike other salons where you are taken care of from top to bottom in common courtesy and utmost cleanliness. After my unlimited voucher is up i will not return nor recommend anyone else to go there. read more

After 7 treatments on my legs I still have hair coming up especially on the the sides. I spoke to them about this several times about the fact they are missing areas but it doesn't seem to make much difference. One thing I am concerned about is if they clean the tools between people! I have had boils come up on bikini area and before treatments I never ever had one in my life! I agree with others regarding there stipulation of 8 weeks apart between treatments. They should sell there packages saying "Six treatments for a year not UNLIMITED"! That's false advertising!!! They need to hire someone to take appointments because they have screwed up many times not just with me as I was waiting for an appointment one day and others came in with same problem. went for laser treatments and have two complaints: 1) The staff speak loudly about what body parts you're having lasered. It was not a private discussion. Be careful if it's an area you're sensitive about. It can be embarassing having everyone in the waiting room know whey you're there. 2) There are NO confirmation phone calls or emails. They USED TO do confirmation phone calls the day before your next appointment, but they do not do it anymore. Unfortunately, no one mentioned this to me and I was just charged $25 cancellation fee for a missed appointment. I was waiting for the confirmation phone call that never came. Every other spa in the city provides its customers with the courtesy of a phone call or email. Advance Laser and Tanning should too. As a side note, i did not even receive a phone call about my missed appointment. The only reason I found out was because I called them to see when the next appointment was....I knew it was coming up sometime soon. Yes, this situation is partially my fault for not putting the appointment in my calendar. But really, it's poor business sense when you don't clearly notify customers that you're making changes to your policies, ESPECIALLY when it's going to cost them money. There's nothing on the website about the cancellation policy either, so at this point i'm refusing to pay the $25. Just a head's up to everyone. read more

I have been a regular customer of this clinic for a long time. Recently I got 6 + 6 treatments of Venus freeze on my tummy and face and the results were amazing. There was a vast improvement in the skin tightening and getting rid of the loose skin at both places. Not only did I get my treatment there, but I was also provided with very valuable guidance about a healthy diet which has become an integral part of my life since then. The nutrition guide also made my treatment more effective. Both the girls over there are very professional and knowledgeable. So unprofessional. Every single time I've gone for laser (6+ times) they can't accommodate me for at least 15-20 minutes because of one reason or another - and that's WITH an appointment. And if you are even A LITTLE upset about it and say something, they argue, yell and even disrespect you. Usually if a salon runs behind they'd call and ask if I can come in a bit later. Not these guys... They make you drive all the way there, pay for parking, and when you think it's time for your appointment, they tell you to wait. Often you end up waiting even longer than what they say. I've seen many people leave in frustration because they can't believe how utterly disrespectful these people are with their clients' time. To make matters worse, I still haven't seen nearly the results I'd hoped for. If you don't value your time at all, these guys are affordable. But if you're like me and actually care about how you spend your time, they just aren't worth it. I had a great first experience. I'd never had anything Lasered before, so this was a great first time. I was greeted right away, and the staff was incredibly warm and inviting. I used my voucher, and there was no fuss about it. Though there was a slight mix up with what areas were which, and that when it says "under arm" it really means ONE under arm, unless you are a one-armed person, than this is a great deal. lol The place was small, and somewhat tidy. I bought a Dealfind voucher for 2 instant facelift treatments from Advance. I went on my first appt and it was an ok experience. The treatment room looked kind of messy but according to the lady who did my face they are renovating the place. The treatment was ok and I didn't really notice any distinctive difference in my skin after the treatment. I'm going back for my 2nd treatment shortly just so I could get it done and over with. Bare bones YES. NO privacy YES...all conversations can be heard by everyone in the small waiting room! I also purchased unlimited laser hair removal through LivingSocial and verified with the "clinic" prior to purchase that a full Brazilian and my chin is included and was informed "yes". Now they refuse to do a full Brazilian which by every online definition is to include front to back (including between buttocks!) The owner loudly argues that area is extra, however "their" definition is not explained on their website nor when I enquired prior to purchase. I even showed her 8 separate online definitions yet she accepts no responsibility for misinforming me and will not take the extra 1 minute to do this small area. They should not get away with having a different definition than all others! Now I will have to take the time to go elsewhere and pay extra to have it done properly which is not a nice procedure. I even offered to pay another $199 package for this along with my lower legs, since I'm there anyway, but she refuses! A good business does not treat paying customers like this! I've had laser done before and the technicians never have a problem doing a few extra hairs nearby, yet the THREE small hairs beside my mouth which are literally 1 cm from where she does my chin and would take 1 zap, she refuses to do unless I pay an extra $20-50/visit! What seems like a good deal is not as they mislead clients by nickel & diming them once they're in the door. There are many better deals and much more professional laser clinics!
