Expect to wait 30 min even when you have an appt. I watched them take walk-ins while I waited.

sadly, in 2019 I had the unfortunate experience of having my eyebrows microbladed by Crystal at The Bamboo Retreat and Spa as part on of her models for her experienced microblading course for The Esthetic Institue. In the beginning I did not know the full process of microblading and did not pick up on how badly Crystal was trained, she drew my eyebrows on, they were kind of blocky but she told me not to worry as it's just a template. She did absolutely no mapping and then put the numbing cream on. Come to when she started doing my eyebrows, they looked ok very dark and swollen but I couldn't see the true extent of what she had done, fast forward to two days after I notice how uneven and completely different shaped my eyebrows were. I was upset and messaged Crystal saying that I need them fixed and evened out ASAP or I would be going through with putting polysporin on my brows to remove them (her suggestion) she told me she would book me in for the Monday to fix my eyebrows-less than a week after I got them done, which is against what any other eyebrow tech l've spoken to would do. I confronted her about this and told her I didn't want her going near my face again. I messaged the school and they completely dismissed the fact that I wasn't happy with Crystals work and told me they thought it was great. First of all I don't know how anyone could feel comfortable giving a certification to someone who produces the kind of work Crystal produces and second of all how they can completely dismiss the horrible work she did without any offer to fix or remove it, which is needed. In the attached pictures you will she where she used such a heavy hand that the ink migrated, how she used to thick of a blade and too dark of ink and how truly uneven and terrible my eyebrows Now almost 6 years down the line I have gone for multiple removals with absolutely no avail, Due to how deep she put the ink. Have dealt with my eyebrows completely migrating again because of how deep she put the ink and have no option other than to cover my eyebrows up if I ever want to feel good about myself, which takes over an hour out of my day. And this is what my eyebrows are looking like Today, April, 6 2025. At this point in time, I have gone in for three saline removals, That did not work in the slightest because she put the ink too deep, On top of that, you can see the obvious migration of the ink because again, of how deep she put it. On top of all of that, I've looked into getting laser removal, which would be costing me over $2000 because Crystal botched my eyebrows with no actual guarantee that the removal will even work. My biggest insecurity are the eyebrows that Crystal put on my face, I spent over an hour every day covering them up with make up just so I feel confident enough to go outside and I have done so for the past six years of my life, All because Crystal took advantage of me and guaranteed me something that she could not produce. Crystal is now working out of Strands & I feel that their clientele should be able to know what she has done so she can't just do it to someone else. read more

Got a hydra facial and brow tint by Suneet. She does a great job at listening to what I like. My face feels nice and my brows look great!

I was quiet upset as I had booked a haircut for my daughter who was super excited to get her hair done. We had planned and woke up early to be there for our 10am appt. We arrived early at 9.20 only to get a text message at 9.22 saying they had cancelled our appt because " they didn't have time ". I booked online for this very reason. I'm just upset that I wasted my time going there and getting up early for nothing. read more

I have getting my eyebrows threaded there for over a year because they do a good job but the service there is mean, everyone glares at you when you walk in and they treat you like wallets. Several times I have been pressured into getting my lip threaded as well as my eyebrows, making me feel self-concious about my moustache i didnt know i had and more then once she has done my lip without asking and charged me for it. I have put up with the unfriendliness and harshness for a long time because they do a good threading job (the two stars is for the quality of the threading)). But today crossed a line and I left crying and will not go back. Multiple times my eyebrow lady has commented on my acne before, and today the first question out of her mouth was "what products do you use on your skin?" followed by her diagnosing my acne and the duration of my appointment she tried to sell me their very expensive facial peels and skin treatments. I told her I was on accutane, and she responded with "well its not working, and these facials will help better". And I still tipped 15% like always. Please don't go here if you don't want your insecurities pointed out until you cry while simply getting ur eyebrows done. read more

Giving one-star because the artist who did eye brow threading was good. The reception lady (Ritu) booked an appointment for me at 11:00 AM and when I got there the artist took 3 other ladies before she finally got to me at 11:30 AM, don't think that would have happened if I wouldn't have queried with the receptionist. This is a standard pattern at this location. I have been there in total of 4 times now (NO MORE BUSINESS FOR THEM IN THE FUTURE) and every single time the wait is more than 15+ mins. I saw people come after me and go before. There is no system and if there is then the receptionist is booking you in just so that they can make more money even though the artist may be completely packed. When booking an appointment I even asked Ritu if the lady I see it doesn't work for her book me with someone else, but she forcefully booked me with the same person. I would give ZERO star if it wouldn't be for the artist. They really need to learn to be respectful of people's time. read more

First of all, I'm writing only about the threading service. I can't speak to the hair stylists, I've never really seen their work. I've gone here for eyebrow threading for about 3 years now. I see Rupy, and she is truly talented. The price is very affordable and I can't complain at all about their talents. What I have a problem with is their customer service. I had an appointment recently that I missed. My bad, I know. Truthfully, I was so busy I didn't even realise I'd missed it till they phoned and left a very long passive-aggressive message to let me know. Whoever phoned me went on and on about how in the future I should give them 24 hours notice so that they can fill the appointment, and how busy they are. By the end of the message I was so hopping mad I couldn't even speak. There have been several times where I have had to wait for over 30 minutes for my pre-booked appoinment. I have never once complained. Mostly, because I understand the nature of the salon business. I have also dealt with being CONSTANTLY sold Arbonne over the last 3 years. At least 3 mentions per appointment. I get that you sell it, if I thought it was worth the money I'd buy it. Please do my eyebrows now like I'm paying for. In the end, customer service wins out. I will not be going back there, the poor service in this case does not balance out the skill. read more

I take my wife to this Canyon Meadows location every couple of months and couldn't be happier with the service that my wife and i receive from the staff. As I am waiting, I usually chat with the owner or one of the great receptionists to keep me entertained as Sherri gets "primped"! I have heard that they have a second location downtown, but have not visited there yet, but i assume it should be the same, if not better. They also give great men's haircuts as well, and have other services like laser hair removal, but that's not really for me haha. - SM read more

Twice now, I have been slightly offended during a threading procedure. Once, I came in to have my upper lip threaded and the lady doing it asked if she should do my neck as well. Firstly, if I wanted my neck threaded, I would have mentioned that when I made the appointment. Secondly, I don't have hair on my neck of concern. Thirdly, the question was blunt and made me feel self-conscious. I recently had my eyebrows threaded by a small Indian woman (not Rupy or her sister). I have had my eyebrows threaded many times so am familiar with the procedure of pulling the skin tight. When I didn't pull it tight enough for her liking, she scolded me and said, "You HAVE to hold it tight or it will cut you. You have loose skin!" She actually DID cut me under my eyebrow with the thread. The scolding was bad enough, but proclaiming I have loose skin in a salon was humiliating, insulting and rude. There are many ways of getting a point across without being rude. I should also mention, even though this is a touchy subject, that when a person is working that closely to one's face, good breath is important. I am afraid to say that her breath smelled very bad and it made the procedure that much less pleasant. Now that I know there are other places for threading, I'm not going back. read more

I went to Strands for a micro blading treatment. My brows have been thinning over the years and I hate having to always pencil them in. Rupy convinced me I would love the results of micro bladed brow and I must say I am very pleased with the end results. It feels like going home. I have been seeing Rupy for years at both the south and downtown location. My regular services are threading, waxing/sugaring and brow & lash tints and these are always amazing. Even my daughter has started getting her brows taken care of here. I have had the occasional facial which is good just not a high priority for me to fit in. Everything always looks happy and chatty in the hair salon but I don't have any measurable experience there. After seeing someone for this long it is hard not to develop a relationship and share in life's struggles and joys...just like visiting with family. I love to be surrounded by happy, positive and talented people so for me this is a beautiful place to be. read more

I agree with the first review. Rupy and another esthetician are very good at threading, but the sales pitch also made me feel uncomfortable. I too missed a few appointments but they never called me, so no passive/aggressive treatment in my case. But I did notice that the receptionist there isn't treated very respectfully by who seems to be the manager. I'm not enthused to go back and it's too bad because they are reasonably priced and conveniently located for me. read more

I absolutely love going here to get my eyebrows done. Ruby has been doing them for years and I constantly get compliments on them. I get them tinted and threaded and this is the best place I have gone to by far. Ruby is so kind and fun, I look forward to going to each appointment. First off I will completely disagree with the bad review on the threading service. I have been seeing Rupy for 3 years and have had nothing but a great experience. She has always taken me early when I come in early for my appointment, I have never had to wait 30mins for an appointment let alone even 10. As for the customer service from the front staff they are clearly young girls and of anyone knows how frustrating it is when people miss appointments and have to call and tell them it is difficult to say that they missed there appointment. It is awkward and comfusing brcause they understand that mistakes are made. I missed an appointment once at strands and they caled and rescheduled me for that same day; Rupy actually stayed late to get me in. the review below is frustrating because the person clearly cant handle being told they made a mistake. Also never has Rupy or any of the staff mentioned airbonne to me, not once have they tried to sell me anything than what I was there for. I 110% RECOMMEND strands for any threading needs and Rupy is talent and fast, a kind soul who remembers everyones name and has always taken me early for my appointments. read more

I have been coming here for eyebrow threading for the past year. Rupy informed me about laser treatments they offer. At first I didn't not believe when she told me I would just need 4 sittings to significantly reduce my hair growth. I decided to make the appointment which she booked in and worked around my schedule very thoroughly. Right before the treatment she was very honest and upfront about the discomfort I would feel during the process. The whole time she asked me how I was doing and let me know what was going on. She made the whole experience very comfortable and was very professional. I did not hesitate to buy a package deal from her. At the end she told me atleast 20% of my hair would be gone, it has been 3 weeks and after only my first treatment I would say about 80% is gone with only just a few patches of hair left. very satisfied with the service so far. Wanting to write about this company for a while now. I've been getting threading from Rupy for just over a years now and the service and product could not be better. Rupy is always upbeat and friendly while she is working on you. They have been accomodating to me when on two occasions I had to cancel on very short notice. I totaly depend on the reminder calls that they sendout two day's in advance. I also think the price is very fair. read more

I had my eyebrows threaded by Rupy at Strands. It was quick and relatively painless. The shape was very natural and complimented my eyes. The next day I had two people compliment me on my beautiful brows- after that I was a fan and haven't gone back to plucking or waxing. read more
