The manager Theresa took 5 days to get back to me, which she then responded with "you told the stylist you liked it, so if you want it changed, you will have to pay for another service." Even after I had explained why I told the stylist I liked it in the first place. I was told not to worry, my hair would fade, well almost a month later.. It still has not faded. I will never be returning here.

Every three months is when I get my haircut and Shear Synergy Salon is where I like to go but specifically to Anita. Lovely Anita who does the most amazing head massage while she shampoos you that makes your toes curl while sending you into a slight orbital coma onto another galaxy and into another time. Situated in the east side of the Dragon City Mall in the heart of pulsating Chinatown, Shear Synergy Salon is the place I go to get beautified. I usually will whet my haircut time with a dim sun lunch at the Regency Restaurant and then top it off with a delicious bubble tea. Shear Synergy is so conveniently situated too, I simply have to take the number 3 bus a block from my home and I land smack dab in front of the Dragon City Mall. My haircut lasts usually anywhere from 45 to 60 minutes for a mere 30 dollars and I believe Shear Synergy has 3 stylists to choose from, I am a loyal client however to Anita who simply understands Asian hair, when leaving other hair salons in the past I am usually very dissatisfied with my haircut simply because they don't understand the properties of Asian hair and its temperament and I usually end up walking away looking like my uncle. But Anita does it just right, she's hip to popular Japanese hairdos and has a knack for the anime. So if you want a stylish trim or an all out make-over try Shear Synergy Salon.

I'm super vain about my hair, so getting it cut is a big deal for me. I was super pleased with Stacey, my stylist, and with the whole salon. First of all, I came in early and they were super polite and talked about getting me in ASAP. I got hooked up with some delicious tea in the small waiting area, enjoying the atmosphere. It was very open concept, chic and open, and it didn't feel crowded at all. Love, love loved how gorgeous the interior was, which is exactly what I want in a salon. Loved getting my hair washed, although I was a little disappointed with the lack of scalp massage :( Stacey asked what I wanted, and totally consulted with me the whole time. She also listened to me chatter along the whole time. I love my one-inch shorter hair (I also like it when people listen to me when I explain that I'm growing my hair out). A…read moregirlfriend and I were headed to Calgary to celebrate my birthday weekend and during our drive we decided we wanted blowouts in order to look our most spectacular for our night on the town. The Ginger Group was the first salon to pop up on Google and the receptionist was happy to get us in that afternoon (which came to a surprise quite frankly, because it was a Saturday, after all). Once we arrived we were kindly greeted and met by our stylists right away. Unfortunately, I forgot the name of the gentleman who tended to my messy locks... but he did have a station right next to another gentleman who, to our excitement, frequently had his bow-tie-wearing weiner dog roam the salon. That was a cute touch. The space itself, was perfect also, with its lofty vibe and industrialized pieces. I, personally love a laid-back environment without the snobbery that comes with certain uptight salons. My girlfriend showed up with her hair drenched in coconut oil from the night before, and was extremely worried about being judged by her stylist due to the fact she too, had worked in a salon with women who were umempathetic toward clients behind their backs. Our stylists were phenomenal. The female who worked on my friend was super understanding about the oil and casually chatted her up about our plans for the evening. As did my stylist. They were both kind, informative, and talented professionals. Our hair looked fabulous the entire night and carried all the way into the following day. I booked my appointment through their on-line system and it was beyond easy, got an email instantly and confirmed my appointment. I arrived to my appointment 10 mins early and this wasn't a problem at all. I was greeted as soon as i walked in the door and was told that Kelsey would be with me shortly. The only down side is that there is only 2 chairs in the waiting area and another customer decided she needed the other chair for her purse and coat. However I didn't need to sit down to wait because Kelsey was out to greet me. She took me back and got me set up for my pedicure. She was very professional and even when I told her that my feet are ridiculously ticklish she just smiled and said not a problem. This store is extremely clean, the staff are friendly and professional and to top it all off I got to keep the bottle of nail polish! So happy that this place is close to home so I don't have to make the trek downtown anymore. Can't wait to book another appointment with these great ladies!

The great thing about this salon is that they are personable and will give experienced advice while also being sensitive to listen. They stand behind their quality artistic work and take it very seriously. They are following sanitizing protocol and require masks for stylists and clients.
