"DID YOU CALL ME?!?!?!"…read more I read from the other reviews that Jim was quite a character. Nevertheless, it's an odd way to be greeted. "No," I said sheepishly. Jim looks like a retired wrestler. 50ish, eccentric handlebar mustache, cammo cap and an obvious look of annoyance on his sun-weathered face. He's close to 7 feet tall and every bit of 300lbs. He looks like he's spent a lifetime muscling boats off their trailer with his bare hands. To call him 'big' would be unfair. He's a beast. "Let me guess...you're leaving for the keys on Friday and you need me to drop what I'm doin' and fix YOUR trailer?!" "Yes," I said. I smiled and I could feel my face turn red. He had my number. "Well," pausing for what seemed like minutes, he went on. "I guess we'll have to get ya fixed up, partner." "You must be Jim," I said. "That's me," he snapped. "I'm Ross," holding out my hand only to have the blood squeezed out of it. "C'mon in the shop and we'll write you up," he gruffed. I can see how Jim could rub someone the wrong way. Everything about him is rough around the edges. He's intimidating and it's no accident. Jim is a big guy in every sense. He's likely the loudest voice in any conversation. I'm pretty sure he likes it that way. He's also very personable. I got the feeling that he's the kind of guy that likes doing favors for a stranger. I imagine his tendency is to be trusting to a fault. While he mentioned 'kicking someone's ass' at least a half dozen times, I'm sure it's because he's gotten a bum deal from deadbeat customers scores of times. To make a long story longer, Jim did exactly as he promised in half the time he said it would take. The quality of the work was good and the price was fair. In the end, he was personable, friendly and kind. When he learned I didn't have a spare tire for my junky trailer, he gave me one. For free. That's the kind of guy he is, I think. Maybe we can learn a thing or two from Jim. I think he wants to see the good in people. Some will take advantage of that kind of thing. It angers him. And it should. I think we all want to be given the benefit of the doubt. Jim will surely offer it if you can see the generous person inside the rough suit he wears. I think you should go to Fat Cat trailer repair. Be nice to that man. Let him know that you are one of the good guys. He will treat you right.

Thanks for fixing more than what was asked for without permission. It's as if I went to a high end…read morecar dealer for a tune up; you walk away with a bill extremely higher than what is necessary. They used scare tactics on my wife, saying it would be $50 a day to store my trailer on their lot after she confronted them about fixing parts of the trailer not requested to be fixed. Unless you have deep pockets, like poor service, desire to be taken advantage of, or enjoy dealing with a business with little, if any, standards, go elsewhere. To be clear, the quote for what service I requested was less than 1/3 of what I ended up paying.
