I've stored my 2024 Key West 20-foot boat at Arlington Marina for approximately three years, and…read moreunfortunately my experience has been consistently disappointing. The final incident that led me to leave involved their staff damaging the back of my boat while placing it on the storage lift. A new employee was handling the process and did not properly position the boat, while the employee operating the forklift failed to lower the forks completely. As a result, the back of my boat was damaged due to improper handling. What was even more disappointing was how the situation was handled afterward. When I spoke with the manager, Allison, who runs the marina for the owner, her initial response was aggressive and focused on pointing fingers at me instead of investigating what actually happened. After reviewing the security footage, it became clear that the damage was caused by their employees. Even then, there was little willingness to accept responsibility or show accountability. The unfortunate part is that the employees themselves have always been friendly and hardworking. I truly believe many of them do the best they can. In my opinion, the biggest issue is the leadership. It's disappointing because good employees deserve management that supports accountability and puts customers first. Accidents can happen at any marina, and I understand that. What matters most is how a business responds when mistakes are made. In this case, I was disappointed by the lack of professionalism, accountability, and customer service. After three years of ongoing issues, this incident was the final straw and convinced me it was time to move my boat elsewhere. If you're trusting a marina to handle an investment like a 2024 Key West, you should have confidence that it will be treated with care and that management will stand behind its employees' mistakes when they occur. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Arlington Marina for boat storage.

This is a public marina located in old Arlington for access to the St John's river. There is only…read moreone ramp and a few parking spaces for vehicles with trailers. The dock is updated and easy to tie up and load unload smaller boats too. The advantage to this marina and ramp is it's location for river access. You can head easily towards downtown for a nice trip along the city's waterfront as well as north towards the ocean accesses.

Before coming here today, hubby and I came to scope out the area and talked to some kayakers. They said that in that past they've seen some drug dealers but they kept to themselves. We came during the daytime and didn't encounter any issues. There are also signs stating area is under video surveillance. Even though there were only two boat ramps, it wasn't busy at all so it's good for novice boaters that needs extra time. Boat trailer parking is a little limited but for being a weekend, we didn't have any issues finding a spot. I don't recall the previous visit having a very fishy stench but today the smell was pretty strong. Besides the ramps, I didn't see any other amenities. It's about a 15 - 20 min ride to downtown so kinda convenient, but the ride itself isn't scenic.

219 steps up and 219 steps down. Truly a special place to get to visit! I've climbed the lighthouse…read moremany times over the years and no matter what it is always so special! Yes it can get warm and sweaty inside on a hot and humid summer day. No it is not a simple few steps either. It can be difficult if you don't pace yourself and drink water. St. Augustine has always been such a special place for family and I. Every time we climb to the top the views are always special. Every ticket helps to conserve the lighthouse and the area around it.

Spoiler alert: I think this is a must see while visiting St Augustine! Wasn't sure what to expect…read morefrom the lighthouse visit. The fee at first seemed a little steep. But, it was worth every penny of it (see last paragraph for additional things to see on the property). This lighthouse was lovingly restored by a group of passionate people- who also kept the property from being razed and becoming condominiums! The preservation work is ongoing and informative. The history is very interesting- you will see it as you climb the stairs up the lighthouse. One story about a cat and a parachute was particularly interesting. The staff member at the top of the lighthouse was very informative. The glass prisms making up the light part are amazingly beautiful, and so are the views from the top of surrounding Anastasia Island! The lighthouse itself maybe the main draw, but the property offers much more to visit. There is an archeological preservation building - which you can enter and discover how they preserve historical items. There is the lighthouse keepers house to explore. Several small sailing boats are on the premises with information regarding their history,and also a short trail through native trees and plants. A small restaurant/ snack bar is also located on the premises.

Due to U-boats during 1942, much cargo and many ships were lost. The tremendous number of losses…read morenecessitated the need for more ships that were stronger, larger, and can hold vast amounts of cargo. During 1942 the U.S. Maritime Commission chose 16 sites around the nation to build what would be termed "Liberty Ships." Brunswick was one of the towns chosen. During World War II, the J.A. Jones Construction Company operated a plant approximately 1 mile south of this point on Brunswick's waterfront. Between 1942 and 1944, a skilled labor force of over 16,000 men and women worked in service to the Allied war effort, producing 99 steel vessels for the U.S. Merchant Marines. These vessels served as both cargo and troop carriers, and their reputation for keeping vital supply lines open earned them the name of "Liberty Ships." Each month, dedicated shipyard workers produced four of these 447-foot, 3500-ton steel vessels. During December 1944, with the "Battle of the Bulge" raging in Europe, the Navy requested six ships. In response, these determined patriots build an astounding seven "Liberty Ships." The J.A. Jones Construction Company and the people they employed in Brunswick's shipyards came to symbolize the patriotic duty and tireless efforts of America's wartime home front. Upon war's end in 1945, the J.A. Jones Construction Company closed the shipyards, on their way out, they donated a model of one of the Liberty Ships that was used in training the employees. For many years this model sat at the foot of the St. Simons Island Causeway, eventually though, the model fell to ruins and had to be scrapped. Around 1987 the local Navy League started raising funds to build a new model. On 23 August 1991 a brand new 23 foot vessel was completed, making it the "100th Liberty Ship" build by Brunswick. TERRIBLE SCAM!!! Stay away from Jay Reinert, the only permanent worker and owner of this metal fab…read morecompany. We hired him to make an expensive arch for our boat, little did we know what we were getting ourselves into. In summary, many months after we paid a 50% deposit we had nothing but a poorly welded unfinished, out of spec arch in need to be redone by another welder, and all along Jay will resort to verbal abuse, extorsion and intimidation to get additional payments out of contract or else he threatens to stop all work. Same MO with many others have led him to be banned from setting foot in most marina shipyards in Saint Augustine and even as far as Green Cove Marina, call them and ask, Jay took advantage of enough customers to the point he is not allowed to enter the shipyard. He is kind until he gets the 50% upfront deposit. Seeking remedy through the courts is expensive, Jay has figured out all the loopholes. Run as fast as you can from this person, your project will cost much more than you are told and take several months, in most cases like ours he will not finish.
