I was scheduled with…read moreKP for a CT scan on my chest for some underlying Cyst that were discovered on a prior appointment. I actually made my schedule on time with enough time to actually sit down comfortably in the waiting room to cool off and watch some television. Their receptionist made an honest mistake when she first identified me individually as the wrong sex till see saw me face to face. She apologized, and said that the CT Scan Opperator had just stepped out for Lunch. She offered the waiting room that was surrounded by other patients and the television that had a perfect sound level for me to hear when I was being called. The CT Scan Operator was fast and thorough on what he needed from me in order to get me in and out through the door. He was very nice and tried to make it right when he couldn't pronounce my last name correctly. The procedure seemed to move like the touch of silk. After I finished getting the CT scan done on my chest. At 2:15pm I went to Urgent Care at 4700 W Sunset Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90027 across the street to be seen because I had a problem that I needed to be solved. Like Burning Urination, I wanted the burning and pressure to stop. I did everything that I thought was right before making this appointment by keeping heavenly hydrated, ate cranberries, and made sure that I was cleaning myself properly after urination for six days. The burning had left at one point and came back fierce. So, since I was on the Main Street that is practically a minority entity of Kaiser Permanente. I told myself, "Why not, it's better to be safe than sorry." So I made the appointment with the receptionist that was very nice and thorough jumping back into a question on one my symptoms in order to note it properly. She let me know that my wait time was going to be an hour. I felt like my appointment wait time was less than an hour. More like 45 minutes which was good for me. The sooner I was seen, the quicker my problem will be solved. When I finally was called in by the male Nurse, he seemed supportive when I asked him for some extra hydrogenic wipes for when he asked me to urinate in a cup. Better that I am safe and not sorry. He was quick on logging in my reason for being there and didn't skip a beat on any important questions that needed to be logged in. The doctor came in to see me and reminded me of somebody that I knew from the past. Her behavior was bubbly, outgoing, and laid-back, so she seemed easily approachable to talk to me. She felt like an old friend. I let her know of my problem and asked her what was the determined cause? And what was going to be the solution to relieve it? It's been many year's since I have ever had a doctor tell me that I have a UTI. I had them a lot when I was a child. So, hearing that come from her was scary for me. She prescribed a medication to kill the infection and one to relieve the irritation. I started the medication right away yesterday, and I feel like I am feeling better already. I'm happy that I made the walk-in appointment.

I would definitely not recommend this place to anybody.

The nursing department (specially the supervisors) exceeded all expectations. Each nurse was not only skilled and professional but also incredibly compassionate and attentive. Their consistent care, patience, and encouragement played a vital role in my mom recovery journey. I deeply appreciate the dedication of the entire team, from those maintaining the pristine environment to the nurses who showed genuine concern for my mom well-being. Ripsime assured me that everything was great, she even gave me her cell number in case anything ever comes up. I called her three times while my mom stayed there on separate days and she never returned my call. The facility is understaffed and overwhelmed. If you're not on top of things they won't get to you on time. My mother complained of UTI symptoms on day 2 and said the nurse told her the previous nurse was not cleaning her well and even showed her. I asked several times to get her checked for a UTI, I was told they would tell them doctor. Little did I know the doctor was on vacation and in the week that she was there she saw no doctor. Can you imagine a health care center with no doctor. I even took cranberry juice and asked them to keep giving it to her. No one did. Fast forward four days later she developed a horrible bladder infection that we caught before it reached her kidneys. If I hadn't gone in there to transfer her back to the hospital, she would have still been there waiting for a doctor with fever, low oxygen levels etc. The hospital told us that we caught it right in time and thankfully acted fast. She went in there healthy and came out with an infection that now is delaying her physical therapy and healing so she can get back on her feet. I knew I shouldn't have taken her here and I should have fought the insurance harder.

A friend of mine had a good experience there with her mother, though, so we decided to give it a chance. I'm glad we did. My dad stayed at Alcott for about 4 months, and overall we had a very positive experience. The nurses, caregivers, PT, and OT staff were wonderful with him. They were patient, attentive, and genuinely caring toward my 90-year-old dad. Most importantly, he left much stronger and in much better physical condition than when he arrived. One thing that really stood out to me was how clean the facility was. There always seemed to be someone cleaning, and the staff truly tried their best to care for the residents. I know people complain about the food, but realistically it's hospital-style food, and they have to prepare meals that work for elderly residents with different health needs. We ended up bringing some of my dad's favorite foods whenever we visited, which helped. I also want to give a special thank you to Ms. Fern from Social Services. She was incredibly helpful in guiding me through the process of finding an assisted living facility for my dad, and she even followed up after his discharge to check on how he was doing. That meant a lot to our family. My dad was lucky and ended up having great roommates who looked out for each other, which was really sweet to see. Thank you to the entire Alcott team for taking care of my dad and helping our family through a difficult time.

Most recently, I was spoken to in a tone that felt condescending and unprofessional, which was upsetting and completely uncalled for. I fully understand that this is a high-stress environment, and I always try to be respectful in my interactions. However, I believe every family deserves to be treated with courtesy and dignity--especially when advocating for a loved one's care.
