I had a freak accident that misaligned my jaw, making it click, and causing me pain every time I opened my mouth. I waited one week from the accident to see if my jaw would realign itself. NO that didn't happen. I was in so much pain I could not sleep and was ready to go to the ER if Dr. Shapkin couldn't make some improvement from the very first appointment. First appointment. He took an x-ray. Showed me the issue. Had a PT work on me first. about one hour of massage and gentle movements. He was very nice. Next, Dr. Shapkin performed the first adjustment and told me to ice my jaw when I got home. Yes! I had improvement! Did not need to drive to the ER. Then, 2 more treatments a few days apart and my jaw muscles finally loosened enough for the " magic adjustment" in my jaw to work!!!!! Felt like a lightning bolt! It's what my jaw needed. Immediate relief. I almost cried. I was fixed on the spot with that magic adjustment. He also adjustment my spine. I am so thankful to him, as I am truly a baby when it comes to my pain tolerance, and he fixed me. It helps that he has a kind and comforting bedside manor. I am not saying he can fix you in 3 treatments but since I did NOT DELAY to get treatment, I am thinking that was important too. My opinion ....if you have been in an accident or you have back pain, the longer you suffer with it, the longer it takes for those muscles to loosen up to let go and to be realigned. I was would be given an allowance and be taken to a grocery store to buy my own groceries and then once I got on the premises, we were told we were not allowed offsite to go shopping whatsoever that food was purchased for us. The facility we were was full of cockroaches. The vans that they drove us around on were broken down and uncomfortable and could never fit everyone in them. i do NOT recommend this place to anyone who genuinely wants to be helped with recovery And is looking for counseling and therapy. I only saw my therapist once a week when I probably should've saw them once a day if not multiple times a day.
