I have had neck and tailbone pain since two back to back car accidents back in 2011. I have gone to multiple chiropractors and medical massage therapists over the past 11 years to try to find relief. Although I would get relief, it would only last around 5-30 minutes. My husband visited Dr. Johnson in 2019 when we first moved to Houston and had rave reviews. I am not sure why I waited so long to see him! Fast forward to August 2nd, 2022, I decided to reach out and within minutes, Renae was so prompt in her response to my inquiry about appointments for August 3! She was able to fit my husband and I on the schedule. My husband's 2019 Ring Dinger adjustment was so good and lasted all these years; the only reason why he had to go back for another adjustment is because he sustained a trampoline injury. Please note: I am 26 weeks pregnant, so I had the Ring Dinger and a manual neck adjustment. I have also experiencing GERD issues with my pregnancy. Immediately after the Ring Dinger and manual adjustment, I finally remembered what it was like to not live with the chronic pain from my car accident. Even though Dr. Johnson couldn't do treatment for my GERD symptoms (because I am so short and my belly is so big from pregnancy - a sign that Dr. Johnson is an extremely safe practitioner and DOES NOT do treatment "for the Youtube views"), the adjustment itself significantly improved my symptoms and I did not have to take a TUMS before I went to bed. My husband came in for the ring dinger due to a back problem. He got the 3 day treatment and the first signs of treatment where really good .We drove from California to get the treatment in Texas because of all the good reviews. I'm not gonna I even got the ring dinger to treat a sciatic nerve after another Client said he was fixed after the first treatment . He had a eating problem where he was not able to eat due to his condition . When we say him on the second day he said he was able to eat .so I tried it . I will say the sciatic nerve was not fixed but my posture was improved . my husband fells a bit better but not fixed . The ring dinger was painful for a few minutes And soar for a few days . I won't lie it made me cry but I'm a girl . My husband did ok but also states it was a little painful . The were really nice attentive and polite. Dr. Johnson is amazing. Truly hands touched by God and amazing. I went to him a few years ago and also recently. He was great. I needed a second appointment but he only works Monday through Wednesday so I went to see the new chiropractor on the team--Tristan. Unfortunately I'm still in pain days later and can't quite figure out what he did so wrong. Although some soreness happens after a chiro visit and even happens with some of Dr. Johnson's adjustments this is next level and I'm trying to decide if I'll go to urgent care for some pain meds as we speak. It also feels like one leg is now longer than the other. It's all very odd. Im a bit disappointed because I truly trusted that Tristan would be just as good as Dr. Johnson but my body is telling me that just isn't the case. Hoping he continues to grow and learn as the time goes on but Dr. Johnson is worth every penny and Tristan definitely has me questioning why I paid $300 to feel worse. This is practically a novella, sorry but at the same time I hope it is helpful: I found Dr Johnson on youtube, then checked their website and followed the instructions to get an appointment. I heard back the next day and was able to schedule dates and times. They're open Monday through Thursday 9-5 and I had to book about 2 weeks in advance as a new patient. I was surprised that it's only a team of two - Dr Johnson doing the exams and manipulations and his wife Renae managing the front office. This is a small business run by two really nice people. If its important to you: they are Christian and very patriotic. They love service veterans (I am one and appreciated that). They don't take insurance but they are a provider through the VA. The exam was thorough, Dr Johnson took the time to go through all the complaints I had about pain and mobility. After the exam the treatments were explained to me and have game me the first treatment right then and there. The ring dinger had quite an impact on me. It didn't hurt but I did have a strong emotional reaction. I can't say exactly what happened in my body but it felt like my nerves were able to finally fire properly and I had a rush of sensation. It was suddenly a lot of physical information to process, very overwhelming and I cried a little bit. Dr Johnson said that was a normal reaction and nothing to worry about. I had emotional sensitivity like that for the first two treatments. I didn't get that same sense of being overwhelmed in treatments 3-8. The most uncomfortable thing about all the treatments was that the ring dinger table has pins that are placed in the table between the waist and hip area real tight to hold the patient in place. It didn't hurt but I would say that the pins are indeed very tight, so when you try it for yourself and you feel those pins you can relax knowing that the rest is a downhill coast from there. Just be like a limp noodle and the Doc will take care of the rest. Don't forget to breathe. My neck and back feel so much better. Unexpected benefits are that my vision is a bit better too - I am really farsighted so it's hard to read up close and it had gotten a lot worse in the past 6 months. But after the treatments I can use my old prescription from 3 years ago and see just fine. Pretty cool. The other unexpected benefit is that my jackets fit better. My shoulders and arms were pulled so far forward that my jackets got tight across the back and in the front of the shoulders. I thought I had put on a bunch of weight but it was all posture related. I had a total of 8 treatments and the improvement to my posture and mobility and the decrease in pain is incredible. My arms are back at my sides. My head isn't cocked to the side. My back isn't humped. My neck isn't jutting forward. When I look at how I ranked the pain over the days of treatment it is a measurable improvement, totally worth the cost and time involved. Dr Johnson gave me some exercises to do so that I don't have to keep coming back. I like that I didn't get put on a managed plan to make me have appointments for weeks or months. I am invited to come back when I need it, but my impression is he wants me to take good care of myself instead. read more

What you see on YouTube is what you get. Dr. Johnson and his staff are very professional and it was a great experience from start to finish. It was my first time so I'll update more details later or after another visit but overall I felt Dr. Johnson was very intuitive and detail oriented. In my specific case, there was no complaint and it was more of a general well being kinda deal but I'd imagine the whole experience to be tailored to the individual merely from the level of detail of the initial examination and discussion. First off, let me say I couldn't be happier with the treatments I've received and warm welcoming me and my wife received from Dr. Johnson & Wife Renae. I had surgery September 28th 2018 for what was thought to be a tear turned out to be bone spurs, arthritis & inflammation after the surgery no pain medication would work for me I had OxyContin, Narco, Tramadol and the pain was intense. I had therapy they couldn't do anything for me after time my shoulder became more and more painful and hard to move then I was diagnosed with adhesive capsulitis, the doctor was at a loss and so was I after watching several chiropractor videos on YouTube I had seen this one doing a Y strap and had thought hmm maybe that's what I need then my sister in law sent me Dr. Johnson's videos and I was floored seeing his "Ring Dinger technique" and seeing how well people responded to it and feeling so much better. I had watched this one video and the guy was in chronic pain barley standing up and after his first treatment he was feeling much better then another treatment he was 10x's better than was when he walked in and I was in awe. Dr. Johnson completely evaluated me went over my mri's and x-ray's together and funny he found a bulging disc in my neck where my doctor didn't say a word about this . So after his thorough evaluation he started the treatment he said I was a little forward (head posture ) after seeing my misalignments and ribs out of place it was time.... My first ring dinger wow All I heard was extreme cracking of my neck on my right side and it was such relief. Hello all! I'm here to let you all know that Dr. Johnson is at the top of his class in Chiro without a doubt! This review is definitely long overdue. I saw Dr. Johnson for a total of 8 visits over 4 days for lower back disc issues and all I can say is... he's the real deal! He completely changed my perspective on Chiro because his techniques realign the body. He did the most comprehensive examination that I've ever received before, during, and after each session. He will ask you for all your body issues, and over the course of your treatment, you will put down the starting pain level number, and after the conclusion of the exam, he'll ask you, "what level is this pain, that pain etc." Sometimes it will be a zero before you even expect it to be! Every technique he uses will break up all the fibrotic adhesions. He notes where your posture is before the treatment and is very purposeful about how he adjusts your body so that you will be perfectly straight again. The ring dinger, knee to chest table, and compression table techniques are all extremely helpful. You really do feel lighter after all is said and done. At the end of the treatment, he will shoot you with a gun (non-fatal) in a few important areas per his discretion to help your brain recalibrate itself to the adjustment. This way it's more of a permanent solution, unlike many other Chiros. He doesn't command you to continue to come see him either, only as you see fit. Please keep in mind that just about everyone who's given Dr. Johnson a 1 star review is completely unfair. From what I've seen, those reviews are all based off trying to get an appointment rather than the chiropractic treatment itself. This is a small practice run by the Johnson family (Dr. Gregory, Renae, and their son Greg). Mrs. Johnson, who is one of the sweetest ladies I've ever met on the face of the planet, runs the front desk and is extremely busy so keep that in mind when trying to schedule an appointment. She will do her best. To put it plainly, Dr. J's treatment is very intensive. You will leave sore and beaten up after the first few days because literally everything in your body is getting shifted. He truly does a full body adjustment for his patients. He recommends you to ice your back every day, and drink plenty of water to flush out all the toxins after each adjustment. Now, communication is very key. If you have any type of health condition, be sure you mention it to him, so he can adjust his treatment properly. Some say this is a dangerous adjustment, but if your healthy, you'll be fine. He's an extremely knowledgable man when it comes to the human body. He's been a chiropractor for over 35 years, studied at one of the best, if not the best chiropractic institute in the world (Palmer), and has been voted the top chiropractor in the state of Texas multiple years running. Because of the success of Dr. J's ring dinger, Palmer College of Chiro is now implementing this into their curriculum! I'd be super skeptical of anyone who says he doesn't know what he's doing. Athletes of all types see him on a regular basis. This treatment will cost more than most others, but your insurance may cover it. Mine covered 4 of the 8 treatments. Simply put, you get what you pay for. He can charge what he thinks is right, because these adjustments work, not only for back issues but all sorts of body issues. This type of Chiro should be a staple of everyone's wellness plan! The whole team really wants you to get well. After my last visit, Dr. J said if you want to continue getting chiro, "I recommend Gonstead, Thompson, manual spinal decompression" and a number of other techniques as well. I had some remaining pain afterward relating to stubborn muscle knots, and because Dr. J isn't a masseuse he can't dedicate the full time, but he kindly recommended me to see a rolfer to get those knots loosened. He also told me to drink sea salt which helps with inflammation. They will write these tips for you on a piece of paper to assist you and Renae will probably recommend some great restaurants as well! This adjustment procedure using this device is life changing as far as a physical aspect. After my brother discovered Dr. Johnson on his YouTube Channel, I thought I'd check him out for an adjustment. I'd tweaked my back during the Christmas holidays and was still hurting before I went to see Dr. Johnson in January. I was so impressed with how thorough he was with my Orthopedic Muscle-skeletal exam and past medical history!!! He spent about 30mins just going over my health history and really wanted to make sure he didn't miss anything pertinent! During his exam, he found every point in my back that hurt just by palpating (exam by touch) along my spine. He was purposeful with his adjustments and I had tremendous relief afterwards! My favorite part of the treatment was the manual traction/decompression table or the "Ring Dinger" as Dr. J. refers to it as... LOL. It felt amazing!!! I felt like I had 20lbs lifted off my body! The 15min. massage at the end of the appointment was a nice touch as well! At the end of the appointment, I was pleasantly surprised to hear Dr. Johnson tell me that I didn't need to keep coming back (like twice a week like most Chiropractors demand... to "maintain the spine"), and could arrange an appointment anytime I felt I needed to come back in. This is by far the most unprofessional and unethical doctor that I have shook hands and when looking into his eyes, you will be able to see it too. Dr. Johnson literally calls me an a@@hole over text and then refuses to apologize. I called Dr. Johnson on his cell phone and was told that I was an a@@hole for having issues with his software payment system. His son Greg Johnson did contact me after this incident and was very nice and seemed to be an ethical human and after explaining the events stopped trying to justify this father's actions. Meanwhile his WiFi password is God's practice. The physical practice is outdated (1985) and in need of repair. However, Dr. Johnson's EGO is the size of Texas. Coming into the practice was an unpleasant experience with the front office unknowing my name or where I traveled from to meet Dr. Johnson. The receptionist didn't address anyone by name and made general statements to the persons in the lobby, informal and non personal . I flew to Houston from Florida for Ring Dinger Training. The amount of sacrifice on my behalf to meet Dr. Johnson: Flights, hotel, rental car, meals, tolls, closing my practice that denies others pain free life, paying for training, doggie daycare and most importantly - time away from my family. I visited by recommendation of a fellow veteran. The process Doc Johnson performs is unbelievably effective. Although it's very painful, at least for me it was, it has been a blessing. I have been through physical therapy for 3+ years, acupuncture, ESI injections, etc. Due to past events I have 3 degenerative discs that have caused me debilitating pain. I rely on ice / heat therapy along with TENS daily therapy and regular PT. After my first visit to Doc J, I walked out without a limp. The next day I could actually feel my left leg, something that I haven't had in over a year and a half. My first visit felt like a reunion while waiting for my appointment. I was referred to this clinic by someone in Ohio, but I am lucky enough to be only about an hour away from it. I have only seen Dr. Johnson once, but have more visits scheduled. I have suffered from extreme and debilitating back, neck, hip, and leg pain for YEARS. I've had low back pain from my SI joint since I was a young child, but the last 10 years have been a struggle just to function. I was to the point where I spent 14-16 hours a day horizontal, could not sit for more than 15 mins, and could only work 4-5 hours a day (and those were torture). I've been to neurosurgeons, orthopedic surgeons, pain management doctors,and many chiropractors over the years. After my first visit, I went home and vacuumed my living room. Something so small, but for me it was huge. I couldn't even get it out of the utility room, much less manage to operate it before! Looking in the mirror at his office was the first time I have ever in my life (I'm 43) seen my shoulders and hips even. I have pretty bad scoliosis and wore a back brace for 22 hours a day from 11-14 years old - been crooked my whole life. I could not believe what I was seeing! The visit was intense, and it was way different than it looks on YouTube. The Ring Dinger was a little overwhelming too. But I have NEVER been able to walk out of a chiropractors office before. I've always left limping at best, but usually bent in half and almost in tears. I'm not even as sore as I expected, but I followed their advice and drank lots of water (about 4 liters) on the day of my adjustment and almost that the day after. I also iced frequently throughout the day. I am so happy to have found this doctor! My goal is to never have to go to my pain management doctor again. I think that may actually be possible. It will take time to get me all better after so many years, but now I have hope. I allowed them to post my story on YouTube. You would expect their office to be under a bridge with the troll problem they have on their channel, so if you put your adjustment on YouTube just be prepared for the sick souls who have no idea what it's like to suffer from chronic pain. Ok, so I can not say if Dr. Johnson is or is not a good chiropractor but what I will do is give you my experience and why I will not return to his practice. I went in in January 2017 because of the amazing videos I saw in reference to hiatal hernias, and also a patient of Dr. Johnson is an employee at a local health food store that I shop at and she also recommended him. So I went to Dr. Johnson for hiatal hernia adjustment. I showed up early, did the necessary paperwork, and the doctor called me back early so there was no wait time. He asked some additional questions and gave me some information and then we moved on to the actual treatment. I was a bit nervous the doctor reassured me that all would be ok. He performed the treatment (services) it felt like my sinuses were cleared when he cracked my neck with the towel and once we were done I felt a bit euphoric, light headed, all over just very light and kinda weird to say the least but from my research that was normal (I guess). I went to another room where I received a massage and some follow up instructions for after care. I went to work and kinda floated through the day not quite feeling like myself and very lightheaded. I could not really eat all day because I felt weird and didn't have much of an appetite. Well by 6 pm I just felt awful....my God I thought was going to die literally! By 9p I was in the ER my heart rate was over 120 bpm up to 150 bpm while I was at rest. I also developed a horrible headache and nausea. I was given nausea medicine and I was given a muscle relaxer which none help my heart rate continued to rise and fall all night and the ER decided to admit me over night. All of my blood work was fine so I was released the next morning for a follow up with my primary care provider. So a visit to Dr. Johnson also cost me an ER visit $$$ uggh because I have never had and episode like the one I described before visiting his office. I have had heart palpitations but NEVER anything like that. Also I have had left shoulder pain and a night time numbness in my left had ever since my visit which I have NEVER had before and I am going to see a specialist because my PCP thinks he pinched a nerve during his adjustment. I have to now pay $$$ to see someone for a possible pinched nerve and to see what is going on with my shoulder. I did contact the office and I told Dr. Johnson's wife what was going on and she told me to come back to the office and I did but he wanted to readjust me and I refused because I didn't want to have any further damage occur. All personnel was very nice and tried to be accommodating but I am in a worst state now then before I went so I will never return again. So please do your research and make sure that a chiropractor will be the best choice for your particular situation I truly regret going to a chiropractor because now I am dealing with medical issues that I did not have previously or prior to my appointment at this clinic. My biggest issue it seems to me that no matter your symptoms all cases are treated the same but what may work for someone else's hiatal hernia may not work for me and I think the Dr. may need new and improved techniques what I would like is to get feedback form others that were treated for hiatal hernia. I would truly appreciate that so that I can see what their experience was. I was trying a more holistic method to avoid surgery for the hernia but I probably made matters worst by doing so in this case. read more

This dr might be good at what he does if you can get pass his rudeness and attitude. He has no people skills whatsoever and is only worried about getting patients in and out as quickly as possible. Definitely not worried about the patient's concerns at all. He did not give my mom the time of day to explain her situation or goals before he rudely asked "Are you going to get treatment or not? Buyer beware I purchased a gift voucher for my husband who was is a veteran who got hurt in the Middle East. We read reviews and checked out their site on youtube and was excited at the notion of my husband being able to have a normal life without going through excruciating pain. As you know the practice is expensive but but when saw the voucher we jumped at the opportunity. When I called the practice no one ever answered the phone nor did anyone call us back after I left a message. After not hearing from anyone I emailed Rene and she informed me the dates was available but never confirming a firm date until I emailed her again but despite all of this we were still excited. On 2/8/2018 my husband comes into the office and shows the voucher to the same woman who picture is on yelp and she informed my husband that they no longer honored yelp vouchers. My issue is that if you don't honor them don't have them posted this place wasted my time and my husband time. I REPEAT DO NOT AND I MEAN DO NOT BUY A VOUCHER THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND NOT HONOR IT!!!!!! I hope my experience will help someone else in this situation. read more

Awful customer service. All 6 chairs in the waiting area were occupied when I arrived for my 10:30 appointment. After an 1/2 hour wait, the manager came to tell us that they were running behind and that there would be a very long wait. She asked me if I could come back in the afternoon because they were running behind due to an emergency. I understand when they double-book, but sextuple-book? I showed up with a moderate to large hiatal hernia and my endoscopy printout from the GI Doctor. I was a little skeptical at first but was at my wits end in dealing with the pain in my abdominal area. I felt relief after the first treatment and continued going for additional treatments. I don't know where to start. I had a herniated/bulging disc for about two years and was always in pain. The last chiropractor I went to kept telling me that I will always have this pain forever and that it can not ever get any better. I have been searching online for good news but always came to a dead end. I then found Dr Gregory Johnson on YouTube and was lucky that he was located in Houston. It was easy to get an appointment here and the lady (his secretary) who schedules appointments for Dr. Johnson is the sweetest lady ever. However, My experience was horrible here. Dr. Johnson was not at all concerned with fixing minor back problems in a few visits. He wanted me to start a monthly to weekly regiment and pay for several months. When I told him I didn't need all that. I was just sore from work stress and wanted a little more than a massage to re-align my back he quickly and very rudely dismissed me and even walked away and had his secretary walk me out. I do not believe any of these positive reviews. This man will be all smiles if you want to buy his monthly plan from him, but if you do not want to purchase his package plan watch how quickly he will change face.
