I stopped in yesterday for a dozen roses to celebrate that august moment of committed happiness, and walked out with gorgeous large soft pinks in a clear wrap cone that left a wonderful aroma of rose in my car. In the interim, I was allowed to wander through their shop, including workroom and refrigerated display walk-in, to witness their creativity and large work orders being prepared for major events. I was able to chat with the owners, all part of one extended family, and play a little "Who Do You Know" with them. Turned out, quite a few folks. Not only was I very happy with the overall consumer experience at Newtown Floral, but the object of my affection was delighted with the surprise gift and paid me dividends on my small investment. Let's hope all this good will lasts through the weekend. I highly recommend visiting these good people the next time you need flowers for any occasion. Shopping locally is the only way to go. It's spending money with immediate reward to you.

Ownership has had hard times in recent years and contemplated selling and sliding into retirement. As yet, that hasn't taken place, so I am relieved when it remains open and blooming. When I lived in Holland, BCR was a 20 minute walk, and I took heavy advantage of that. Didn't need reservations to look around and any purchase was always appreciated by a neighbor. Now, it is a 10 minute drive, so I have to plan more thoroughly to make the cruise over, and those monthly cut long stems on the kitchen table binges are are thing of the past. Prices have inflated along with everything else, and perhaps, the day of flowering rose romance is a bit hackneyed and worn, but I hope that is not so. After all, a tiny bit of my heart is in every fragrant petal. See you guys next February.

He set the tone in his market by always stopping to chat or just a hello if he was anywhere around. It might be a pricier shop, but the variety is still there(an amazing, but a bit of everything. I have yet not to find my item....but best of all, it's relaxing, upbeat and the experience is all about small town living, rather than the chaos of the big crowded markets. I do not believe this is the type of quality that Marrazzo is normally delivers. I would also like to share that the delivery man almost broke my door down when he knocked very loudly three times. My suggestion is that you make your delivery man your last checkpoint for quality because he handed the wilted arrangement to me with a big smile on his face. He was very nice, but the flowers were disappointing.
