I am traveling through from Michigan and this morning sat on my glasses and squished them flat, but they didn't actually break. Took them to Advanced Eyecare just before closing and a very nice man named Don said he would try to help. He ended up perfectly straightening them out, (without breaking them), put new soft pad nose pieces on without me asking and overall adjusted them to sit better in my face than they ever have! Well, after today (3/31/25) I am definitely looking for a new eye doctor. I have been a patient for over 25 Years. Unfortunately in recent years your service has gone downhill. Doctors don't stay and my treatment today from your lady optician was just wrong. I had my exam and purchased 2 very expensive pairs of glasses the end of January. When the clear glasses came in I didn't like the frame color. I went to your office to see about buying a different color and was told I would have to make an appointment to talk to anyone. I didn't have time for that so I went home and ordered a new identical frame in the color I wanted. I switched the lenses to the new frame when it came in. Unfortunately the lenses got scratched in the process. So I brought you the frame and scratched lenses so you could replace the lenses. You sent the glasses in to have the lenses replaced. When they came in the frame was damaged. The optician agreed they were damaged and suggested she could order a replacement frame and switch the lenses when the frame comes in. I asked multiple times to make sure the color is the same as the ones I wanted (This was different than the frame color originally purchased but other than color is an identical brand new frame). She assured me they were. I even came back into the store to make sure and she once again assured me she had the same model and color ordered. Well that frame came in and it is not the color I wanted. Obviously the optician knew they weren't right because the first thing she said was "this is the color that came in". Again, this was a brand new frame that I would have bought from you but nobody would help me in a timely fashion! Now, today, the optician tells me you cannot warranty my damaged frame even though it was damages by YOUR lab putting the new lenses in it. She explained that she should have had me sign a waiver..... Well she didn't do that. Instead she assured me multiple times that the correct frame color was being ordered. Now I have a pair of very expensive glasses with a damaged frame that looks like it could come apart any minute. This is not the right way to do business. I will find a new eye doctor and will spend my money elsewhere. My wife will do the same and I will share my experience with others as well. Its too bad. I have been a loyal patient/customer for a very long time. I'm sorry to see that your business can't or won't provide the good service it used to. If you would like to change your mind and do the right thing by ordering a new frame in the same color as the one you installed the lenses in I would be happy to reconsider. Everyone makes mistakes. But if you want to stand by your optician and treat a good customer very badly then I am done! read more

Advanced eye care and all of its practitioners and staff are great ! they are very courteous and efficient . During appointments they share details about your eye health and prevention or maintenance ideas as well as discussing your individual needs . I ordered new glasses; they were made with the wrong prescription twice. When I asked the office for a refund, they never responded. I called and emailed the manager/office 5+ times with no response over the course of 2 months. They eventually issued a refund, but didn't respond to let me know. Very poor customer service. read more

Terrible. Completely missed the mark. Doc rushed me through the exam and ultimately they got my prescription wrong. Glasses didn't end up fitting right because I received little to no help picking out frames. Even with insurance I spent tons of money and still have nothing to show for it. Today I went into this practice to have the frames adjusted as promised in the spring when I bought the glasses. I was told in the spring I could walk in and have them adjusted at any time. Today I was told that I needed an appt with one of the Dr's to have my frame adjusted!! I was also told that if I wished to have the lenses replaced in the first year, it too would require an appt with a Dr, even though I have an active prescription for the glasses and was told in the spring that if the lenses needed replacing it would be done no question. Another falsehood given to me in the spring. It begs the question is this all about charging me and my insurance carrier every chance they get? I have been a patient of this practice for many years and I guess this should not have surprised me, as it seems like it has been a turn style of Dr's through the practice. Last but not least I attribute the "wet" Macular Degeneration in my right eye to their lack of diligence during the COVID response this practice had. I was on a "watch" for that condition before COVID and yet, they were almost unreachable during that time and I was completely ignored during that time. Advanced Eyecare CONTACTED ME by email and said it was time for my annual eye exam. They did not tell me that they were out-of-network for my health insurance vision coverage. If they were in-network for a routine eye exam, the exam would have cost me $0.00. Instead they billed my exam as a "Professional Service (Specialist)", since they are out-of-network and the exam cost me a total of$76.00. I believe their office practices are deceptive and although the Optometrist was very good, I will not return. read more

Everything went fine and smooth till the Doctor basically called me stupid and did not ask more question or put more effort in to help me with my problem. He told me to wash the inside of my window and that I should be fine. No i'm getting worse, I hate driving in the night and need night time glasses. I literally needed glasses and he denied me. I have had nothing but positive experiences with the doctors and technicians but unfortunately the front office staff have really ruined the whole experience. I don't know if it's just their flawed system but they are very disorganized and do not return phone calls or emails. Scheduling is a nightmare. I've been told from the doctors on multiple occasions to schedule follow-ups for three weeks out but the front office staff cannot accommodate - claim that they're booked out two months for a simple follow-up. They seem to have a lot of trouble with insurance plans and ask me for my card each time even though I have emailed it to them. I was shocked when my bill was over $800 and the receptionist looked at me and said, "Did someone talk to you about insurance when you made the appointment?" I don't know how to streamline the experience to be better than it is but something needs to change. read more

The doctors and medical staff are awesome. The front office workers are absolutely aweful and should all be fired for incompetence. Today I arrived for my scheduled appointment to just pick up my glasses. I was told to have a seat in the waiting area which I did because the optician was already helping someone. While waiting my turn another customer came in to pick up glasses that didn't have an appointment. They took him and started helping him. I went up 3 times to the 2 women at the front desk and told them it was my appointment time. The women kept telling me they would try to find someone to help me. The front desk woman continued to gossip with the other office worker, continued to eat her burritos, continued to talk about boyfriends and not do anything to assist me. I had to sit for half an hour waiting for the person that didn't have an appointment to finish. I asked to speak to the office manager but apparently Crystal was too busy to speak to me. read more

I'm from out of state visiting my 80 year old mother. We inadvertently discovered her driver's license was set to expire in several weeks. I have no concerns about her ability to control an automobile or her ability to obey the traffic laws. We drove to the Durango DMV and were made aware that 80 year old seniors are required to pass an eye test. I called 13 (yes 13) facilities from Walmart to several eye doctors offices only to be told they were booked out into Dec (if they answered the phone at all). I walked into Advanced Eyecare and explained my situation. The office staff were able to get my mother in for an exam despite being fully booked. Jayme worked with my mother and was exceptionally patient with her work up. Dr. Bassett completed the exam in a timely manner with respect and professionalism. A+ experience and I highly recommend this firm. read more

I took my glasses in to have the lenses replaced for a warranty that advanced Eyecare offers. The prescription is not right in the replaced pair but they refuse to fix it. I am left with glasses that I am unable to use. I have been a client for over 12 years, I'm disappointed, won't go back, I don't recommend this business read more

I was lead to believe that an eye exam would cost $29 with the rest being covered by Medicare. I was very surprised to later get a bill for $255 for a simple eye exam. Glasses are very overpriced with the staff trying to sell you glasses in the range of $700+...My advice is to find out what the total price will be before dealing with these folks !!!!!! read more

The doctors and medical staff are all amazing. The people who assist you with your glasses frames are just as amazing. The front office staff is horrible. I ordered contacts and asked the woman assisting me if it was the right kind twice. Both times told me yes. Ended up ordering the wrong kind. Told me 7-10 days. 15 days later I finally have my contacts. Other than the office staff the place is awesome with a good selection of frames read more

On vacation when my driving glasses got jacked up (frame bent). Went to the local Walmart who quickly told me they couldn't do anything with the glasses due to "liability reasons." In an adjoining parking lot is Advanced Eye Care. They greeted me at the door, sat me down and for the next ten minutes, adjusted the frames, replaced the nose pads, cleaned the lenses and at no cost. They laughed when i asked them about incurring "liability" for their work. The technician noted the only time you worry about getting sued is when you don't know what you're doing! I love Advanced Eye Care, they actually care about your eye health and work with you to find the right method for you. Unlike other doctors, they don't push you to do what they want you to do and ignore your input completely. They are also cool with you buying your frames elsewhere and putting your perscription in, they do have a lot of frame options but I am specific and got my own elsewhere. read more

One star only because you cannot give zero stars. We scheduled an appointment with their optometrist (Dr. Rahner) as my son was having difficulty reading at school. We filled out pre-appointment paperwork before the appointment with insurance information,etc. The day of the appointment we gave the insurance information to the front desk. We had the appontment and were told by the optometrist that he needed glasses. Then, we were directed to go pick out frames. Only after we had frames picked out did they bother to tell us that they do not take our insurance. We were stuck paying out of pocket for the visit. In addition we then went to an Ophthamologist (Dr Petty) who said our son did not even need glasses. Stay away. Shady business practices. read more
