I used to be a customer, but I am done with AMS. The people there are all friendly, but their technology is bad. I've been a customer for over 5 years. Their technology has not worked for me, ever, and I have to call and ask for supplies. I often can't call during the day. The automated telephone navigation system cannot hear me - on any of three phones I've tried. The website ordering system never sends me supplies, even if I get a confirmation email from them. The only thing that works is to call, on the phone, during their work hours, and to talk to a person. This sometimes means holding. It's frustrating. I've given them feedback many times, and nothing is done. read more

We went in to AMS today to purchase an extra flexible arm crutch......there was no one in the shop at first & we had to yell to get someone to come out front & help us.....then both of their staff members seemed to be rather rude & unhelpful...... they said they couldn't find a price to sell just a single crutch (even tho we had bought a single crutch there previously) & made us wait while they tried to contact some else about how to do the transaction......after waiting OVER 40 minutes, we finally said we'll buy the pair of crutches just to get out of there, but then they said they couldn't find the other matching crutch (AFTER ringing up our card to charge us for both crutches), so we gave up & aked for the charges to be reversed......it took OVER one Hour altogether to accomplish absolutely nothing.......poorest service & attitudes of staff from any business we've dealt with in a long time.......a gentleman also waiting in the store tipped us off about the Home Medical Supplies Store on Carpenter Rd. so we went there & quicly found a crutch to buy & were in & out of that store in less than 15 min. We will NEVER patronize AMS EVER again....... read more

I don't know how they can be so incompetent. They have left me for over 90 DAYS WITH NO CPAP SUPPLIES. I am allowed up to 6 replacements of my nasal cushion by now, and they have dropped the ball at least 3 times. I am DONE. - I was told I would get a call to schedule re-supply, didn't happen. - I called them and asked for everything I could get, since it was end of year and I had my HSA Deductible met. They ordered me for 2 WEEKS WORTH OF SUPPLIES. - I called back and asked them why they only ordered 2 weeks, NO RESPONSE - I waited a MONTH without hearing, and called them. They put in the notes they called, NO MISSED CALL NO VOICEMAIL, they never tried calling and lied about it. - They never processed my order, they never checked why they ordered so few supplies. Here I am on 1/11, trying to get my re-supply for over a month now, after expressing that I needed them urgently on 12/14 because I had waited for a contact even before then. Worse is I keep getting sent to different people every time. Either a different company completely with no answers or a different office, so no one I can actually talk to can do anything about it. I would think I am dealing with a billion dollar corporation how dysfunctional their setup is. Please, just use an online resupply company or any other DME provider. read more

Very Friendly employees but it is a very small store with very little on display. Mostly have to look at catalogs to pick out diabetic shoes however they are very advanced at sizing your foot by taking a 3D image of the foot. My previous last two diabetic shoe fitting at other stores did not include this technology. The store is located inside the medical building. read more

I am a former customer of Advanced Medical Solutions having had to rely on them for the past several years for CPAP and diabetic testing supplies. I would have given them a 1-star rating but felt that it was unfair to judge them too harshly for the one incident - the reason for the 2-star is that they take forever to ship supplies, and they do not follow up with customers that need regular supplies - as a two-time stroke survivor, I have very bad memory issues and often forget to order new CPAP or diabetic testing supplies - when I asked if it was possible for them to give me a reminder call when I was due to reorder, I was told that the owner specifically forbade that practice... not very conducive to building good customer relationships. However, the final straw was due to an act of what I, AND my medical insurance provider, consider to be dishonest, and downright shady. I recently had to get a new CPAP machine because my old one is now obsolete and certain parts and supplies are no longer available. My insurance provider covers 100% of the cost of both the machine and the supplies, but Advanced Medical Solutions tried to charge me an additional $135 as a "special fee that is not covered by the insurance companies". I called my insurance provider (HAP) who confirmed to me that the machine was covered 100% and that there should be NO out of pocket expenses. The HAP agent I spoke with asked me to hold on the line while he called Advanced Medical Solutions and after speaking with them, even he could not determine why they were trying to charge me for something that was 100% covered, and he explained to me that they could not charge me extra as they were under contract to provide the machine for a specific price for which, I had 100% coverage. I was willing to put up with the minor inconvenience of missing a few days where I was late ordering and they weren't reminding me, but act act of dishonesty loses my business every time. I have no idea if this has happened to anyone else but for those reading this, that may need to rely on Advanced Medical Solutions for a new CPAP machine, and who are charged this "special fee that the insurance doesn't cover", I strongly advise you to speak with your insurance company first, before paying the fee. As it was explained to me by my insurance provider, when a home medical equipment provider is contracted to provide a particular service or device (that is to say, they accept your insurance) then they are bound over to only charge a certain amount as per the percentage of coverage - if, as in my case, the item(s) are covered 100%, then the equipment provider cannot charge you more on top. read more

After another CPAP provider unexpectedly closed I was given a list by my physician's office to pick a new equipment provider. Very unscientific, but I went home with the list and started calling providers based on geographic closeness to my home. AMS was the third provider I called, but an actual person got on the phone quickly thus why I chose them. It all went downhill from there. They sent me a climate line late last summer right before I went on a two week vacation. I was going to take the new line with me on my trip but decided to check that it fit before leaving. It was not made for my CPAP so it didn't fit. I went away on my vacation thinking I would deal with that on return from trip. Turns out my insurance didn't cover the line so they sent me a bill. I called and spoke with someone there about sending me an envelope to return the unused line. They told me it was noted in the file it would be returned. Then the why haven't you paid the bill for this equipment calls continued. I have not gotten any supplies from them since but to be honest I had not requested any either as the first go around was ridiculous. Finally last week I got another automated phone call. The automated question asked if I was using my CPAP. I replied yes, as in I'm using my equipment. (I use it every night because I'm a cardiac nurse well aware how untreated OSA can lead to right sided heart failure). The automated question next was something along the lines of OK, why AREN'T you using your CPAP? I hung up, called my pulmonologist's office and had my Rx for CPAP transferred to another provider. It is AMS choice to use automated phone calls that are a pain and cannot understand a primary English speaking person. It's my choice to try and get a decent provider that can give me the correct supplies, and not misunderstand me on the phone. read more

I was given a pamphlet from St. Joe's Urgent Care with their contact info because I needed a nebulizer urgently and was told they deliver. It was 3:45 and I called them. They don't process Insurance after 3:45, and they didn't deliver. Despite their "24 hour service" and "delivery" advertised. read more
