My garage door spring broke. Called because of name of the company. They came that morning as they said they would. Then they had to order a spring. Thought this would be something in their inventory, given my garage door isn't anything unique. A couple of weeks later I decided to call and get a status. Apparently I had fallen off their radar. They had the part and came the next day to install. The work was done well and timely. Very professional work done, but communication and customer attention could use a little improvement. Don't waste your time with Advanced Overhead Doors. We moved into a new home in January where the garage door opener had been working great up until last month. I scheduled an appointment to have it serviced and the soonest available appointment was 3 weeks later. They came one day early and I was out of town and the job did not get started. They rescheduled it for a Friday and were a no-show. I called to ask why they weren't at my house and the technician (the owner, apparently) said he had a scheduling error and then tried to diagnose the issue over the phone. We scheduled a THIRD appointment and once again, no-show. Not once did I receive good customer service from Corey or anyone at Advanced Overhead Doors. read more

Ordered 2 new garage doors with openers from Home Depot. Doors were made in Ohio and Advanced Doors was the listed contractor for installation. Levi and Derek installed the doors a couple days ago and we are VERY happy. They got right to work and finished installation within @ 5 hours leaving our garage floor spotless. Happy guys who answered all our questions and could work while my hubby and I dropped in for chit-chat. Another plus; the office accommodated our time crunch and made sure to install within my no-stress time opening. Thank you all again. called twice and phone rings until its disconnected. Is this business still in business???

While the guys were very nice, they could not fix the problem (jerking and noise) and told me it's just they way these kind of doors are. The bill was over $100. Then my brother-in-law identified the problem, lubricated the coil above the door, and wahla, problem fixed. I contacted Overhead twice to explain what happened and request at least a partial refund. They never answered me. The professionals couldn't find the problem but my brother-in-law could. Amazing. read more

I'd hate to even give this company a single star. Customer service is terrible. They sat on a repair order for two weeks and never got back to us. We have called four times to see if they are going to order the parts and come replace it. We keep getting two more weeks. This is the last time we will ever do business with this company! read more

The daughter of the owner is very rude and needs to attend a school on customer service and professionalism in the work place. They sent an inexperienced employee which is totally fine to change torsion springs. I ask and sent video of my garage door popping and making terrible sounds after their repair. They said my gear was going bad and that was normal because I would need a new motor when it quite working. Saying the gear could not be replace, which I found out is not true. I eventually looked at the gear and it was fine. Cable drum that they replace went out in a month. I think it was installed incorrectly. read more

Very rude customer service. Once you get through...I called multiple times and the phone would not be picked up or go to voicemail during business hours. Was told it was atleast a 3 week wait through my home warranty with this company and was hung up on when I politely asked her to cancel my work order, decided to go with someone else instead. read more

After a bad experience with a box store genie opener, I called advanced overhead doors and was quoted a great price for a lift master garage opener. I called at 4 on a Friday and even though their servicemen were about to get off work, they were nice enough to let me pay for the opener and follow one of the techs to their warehouse to pick up the opener. I met the owner Tom who is a marine corps veteran and chatted with me about the military. Very helpful and polite staff. Would highly recommend them to anyone! read more

I had a broken tension spring on my garage door opener, and these guys fixed it. This was the first time I'd ever needed a garage door opener fixed so I had a lot of questions which they seemed happy to answer for me. Also, as part of their visits they serviced it so it wasn't noisy anymore. I hadn't asked them to do that, they just did it and I really appreciated that because I'd been meaning to do that for several years actually. So it's fixed now for the right price and it's no longer annoyingly noisy, really couldn't ask for anything more! read more

Very disappointing service from this company. I started out needing a garage door opener installed. When they showed up to do it, they discovered that I needed a new spring. Charged me another $200 and had to wait another week. Then a new guy showed up to install the spring and knew nothing about installing the opener. He was rude and clearly not interested in finishing the job. He left after installing the spring. A couple days later, I get a call from the office wanting me to sign the completion paperwork. She had no idea the job wasn't finished. She told me would follow up with the tech and get back to me. I finally called them and talked to yet another person who said he would have to talk to the tech and schedule me a week out. I said I didn't feel comfortable with them completing the work and wanted my money back. He then became rude and told me I didn't pay him and needed to call Home Depot. I was referred to this business by the NO 1 YELP search company with expression of "fantastic, 40 yrs experience and very good." In process of calling I received three busy signals, and then had call the referring biz back for additional contact info. I was provided with Tom's mobile phone. Called newly referred contact info and reached Tom. Tom seemed to be reached at in inconvenient time. I explained I had called the office three times and couldn't reach anyone so Tom gave me an additional phone for the office. After two attempts I reached Amber in the office. In process of setting up a service call, "while checking the schedule" and waiting for five minutes I was disconnected, and with further conversation it's seem the replacement of the opening unit is the likely outcome. Anyway, scheduled a service visit and was told a almost 2 year experienced employee will meet with me this week. We have a ProDrive opener, I bet many in Tricities have the same opener and the same issues. SO far experience is not supportive of "fantastic" referral or easy to reach the office. . I have the expectation of a garage door company being able to answer the phone, schedule, and gather "issues with door" with out call backs and installation to regular opener mechanics. So far not exactly supportive of the kind referral by another biz. Hope this application of my experience can assist the next person when seeking service.
