Horrible company, I do NOT advise going through Tom's company. I contacted his company because he was an Amarr door distributor in my area, which is the door I was looking for based on the shop I was building and what was recommended to me by the shop kit people to get a local distributor to put in Amarr doors instead of what came with the kits. He asked me what I was quoted from the shop kit company and I told him the price, but he wanted much more detail and had me contact the company to find the make and model of the door and the openers I was quoted. I was happy to do so. He laughed at their door choice saying it was a Janice door and made fun of it, saying how terrible they were. Then said he would give me a quote for a door by end of day or possibly tomorrow. That turned into many days, then over the weekend, then the following week, then even longer. Finally after I contacted his company to get the quote again, a quote was given of a sentence or two of more than 2 times what was quoted before. I wanted to see what this super expensive option was and asked for the same he asked for: make and model of both. He would not share that, then raised his voice and talked down to me and accused me of shopping around the quote and refusal to give me the details because I would quote it somewhere else with that information. Telling me LIES about how many quotes I already got and how he had another company call him about my project and needing his help to fulfill the order. I never contacted another company besides the shop kit company in Texas I was getting the steel building from that he told me to get all the details from and then sliced them up to make them seem horrible so he could swoop in and make the sale by overcharging, LIES on top of LIES, and yelling at the customer. He actually told me he didn't want me wasting his time because how much time he took looking into this. While not sharing a brocere, a Pic, a video, a link, a website to see it, a name brand, an actual quote to take to the bank so I could ask for more than twice the approved amount for shop doors in my loan. Just an email with a sentence or two saying give his company over $20k for shop doors and says that banks give the loans all the time with no details. Customers need to see what doors are going in and gain some confidence in the experience. I highly advise NOT to deal with the highest priced, horrible experience of Richardson's Garage Doors. I hope Amarr drops them as a distributor. In this day and age I believe it is important to shop local and support small business. I have done business with Richardson's Garage Door, Inc. In the past few years, and have had no complaints. I needed a keypad remote for my Linear Garage Door Opener, so i went to their office to purchase one. When I got home and reviewed the installation instructions and went online to YouTube for further instructions I could not get the keypad to talk to the opener. I tried several times over the course of a couple days. No luck. I returned to their office to return the keypad as I felt it was defective and was immediately told that all electronics were not returnable and all sales were final. Defective or not and no offer to replace it. I was told my opener was probably defective and that they would be happy to schedule a technician, for an additional fee for the service call. I could have purchased the same keypad on Amazon for half the price, but I wanted to shop local. Now I'm stuck with a non-functioning key pad. I could not and would not recommend this business to my friends, or anyone if they were in search of services of which they could provide. My review is based solely on the front office customer service. Our spring broke on our garage and my husband contacted Richardson's to order the replacement part. I stopped in to the business to pay and pick up the item and the service was good. That night, my husband realized he had the wrong sized spring. He contacted them and explained he had messed up and would like to exchange for the correct one which they were willing to do if we brought in our broken spring. My husband warned me that they were not friendly on the phone before I left to do the exchange. When I visited the store the ladies demeanor had completely changed from the day before. One of the employees repeatedly stated that my husband gave her the wrong measurements and even fished out her notes from the garbage. It was weird because neither I or my husband were saying otherwise, but she just kept going on and on about it and I was even being overly nice because my husband had warned me. Just bizarre! My teenager even thought it was strange. She even continued the complaining as we quickly walked out the door. I'm not sure why this was such a hot button for her. Perhaps it has been a problem in the past for the company, but regardless, as a new customer, this experience where it seems like I was the grownup with the child throwing the fit is uncalled for and totally unprofessional. Receptionist talks "at" people, not to them. The technician from Richardson's admittedly didn't know anything about our unit (which they initially installed) and did not tighten the shaft on the garage door during a repair which left us with a non-working garage door within 4 months. Made another appt. and they were two weeks out to get a technician to the house. During that 2 week period, the garage door got continually worse until our cars were stuck in the garage. Had another company come out - had to pay additional labor for Richardson's mistake. When I contacted Richardson - it became our fault for not updating them that the garage door was completely stuck. I should have known they had cancellations and could have gotten us on the schedule when it became an emergency! After having the second company come out - I also realized that Richardson's is overpriced by almost double for installation and parts, not to mention they hooked up our wall mount garage door openers backwards (MyQ was hooked to the opener that does not have that feature and didn't hook up the one with the feature)! Richardsons garage doors (RGD) installed my garage door when the house was built and I've had them out for repairs since then. they've been quick to respond (I had a car stuck in the garage with the garage door hanging precariously over it). work was completed in a professional manner and the bill was reasonable. recently I had a torsion spring break so I called RGD. their estimate was so high that I reverted to Amazon and YouTube. the job took me two hours so I figured an experience tech could do it in an hour or less. to complete the job I wanted to replace the weather seal on the bottom of the door. I purchased the vinyl seal from RGD @ double the online price because I wanna do it as soon as possible. dealing with the office staff was not a heartwarming experience. besides the high price I felt like I was intruding and wasting their time because I was only buying parts. I'll be looking elsewhere in the future. read more

After twenty one years our Liftmaster garage door opener gave up the ghost. There was no doubt in our mind who to turn to; Richardson's. Our garage door broke and we were able to get in within four days which is reasonable considering all the new construction. Actually they came a day early, gave us a twenty minute window upon arrival. Our door isn't a standard size so we were pleased it was able to be fixed. New spring, cables axel etc. The door was to heavy to manually lift. Not only was everything explained but was done perfectly by Joseph and I have to give them a five star thumbs up! My husband and I called this company a few months ago. A guy came and looked at the door and said that he would send us a quote. About a week passed and we didn't hear back from this company. Then we Called again and left a message- never heard from them. Very bad service. We ended up calling Dondi Doescher and he was awesome. He came by the house looked at the door and suggested something different than Richardson's comp and he was able to fix it right away!! I would highly recommend Richardson's based on home builder referral, their inside support staff; the timely updates you receive prior to date of service. Most importantly has to be the folks that come to our homes. Today Michael removed and installed my garage door, he was on time, personable, professional, took the time to explain how new features work and actually took the time to program the installed remotes in my cars. You can purchase doors from various businesses, it's the service that will lead me to recommend Richardson's to friends and neighbors. I will only call on them should maintenance be needed. One of the two torsion lift springs broke on our double garage door failed, leaving our primary garage door unusable. A call to Richardson's Garage Doors resulted in a repairman being deployed on the same day to fix the problem. Very impressed with the courteous phone response as well as the professional fix. Garage door lift torsion springs fail in about ten years - fact of life. Nice to know that a great company is there to help when it happens. These folks went over and above in fixing our problem, with a very reasonable cost. I absolutely recommend them. read more

I visited the store to find a remote for my 30 year Blue Max garage door opener. The person at the counter looked at my existing remote and looked up information on the computer. After a couple of minutes they handed me a Genie 3-Button Remote, Model G3T-BX and was told that "this will work". I started to open the box to look at the remote and was told that if I opened it I bought it, because they had a no refund policy. Again I was told that this remote would work. When I got home I couldn't get the remote to work. (My Blue Max opener doesn't have any programming buttons on it). I took both remotes to another garage door company and they confirmed that new remote wouldn't work with my opener. I returned to Richardson's and was told that because of their no refund policy they wouldn't take back the remote; even though they sold me a remote that wouldn't work with my existing system. They might have good customer service for repairs but certainly not for new garage door installation. I was told to go online and look at pictures, and measure the doors myself then they would give me an estimate. That's certainly not the way I want to do business. I want to see and talk to a company representative who will explain my options and help me through the process. I have a nice home in a nice neighborhood in Kennewick and want to determine whether they are helpful, knowledgeable and professional. If they can't be bothered to interact with potential customers personally then they certainly not a company I would ever do business with. read more

Fast, friendly and reasonably priced service. Left a message on Saturday, they called me when they opened Monday morning, and by brunch Tuesday we were up and running! The original installer never even called back. Despite the other reviews, I've seen their trucks for a long time and figured they wouldn't have survived this long if they couldn't perform. All Doors in Pasco kept me in the garage for six days. I had to allways call them, but all I got was excuses. They said my garage door springs was no longer available . I had a stroke two years ago and had back surgery one week ago, I had to borrow other cars to get to my Doctors appointments. On the sixth day I called again ,because someone was to come again after lunch on the day before. No show!!! I called again they said they had an emergency with other clients. Now! Don't you think that I was an emergency too!! THE SIXTH DAY I said forget it. I called Richardsons they came out in 15 minutes, fixed the problem in 40 minutes ,re checked it 4 times and left. If I could give this company zero I would have done that. The office staff was nice and very helpful as was the service tech who installed my motor. However while I was on the phone talking to the office assistant I could hear a man in the background yelling and cussing. He was obviously the owner because he said that they would just send someone over right away since I was throwing a fit. The service tech did fix the problem and new right away what was wrong. First off she started by telling me that there was no way she could get someone here today then placed me on hold and came back and said ok I can get someone there around two or so. I said ok that would work and waited around all day to have nobody show up. When I called the office at 4:30 she said they showed up and nobody was home which was a lie because I was home all day. She also told me that they couldn't get anyone here until next week now. I used Overhead Door they got someone to my house by 6pm same day. I am disappointed in this company. They installed a garage door opener in my condo and I recently was having trouble with it not working sporadically. I called and made an appointment for an afternoon after 1pm. I was to expect a call to tell me the exact time. I took an afternoon off from work to get this done because if my concern that the mechanism would quit working altogether. I sat in my condo until 4pm waiting for the call. I then called them and was told that they had send the repairman home and that there was record of my work order. I informed the person that I specifically remember speaking to him twice about my request. After asking me my address and shuffling some papers, I was informed that my paperwork had been "misplaced" and could they come the following day. I told them that I work and that was the reason for the original request for service. No attempt was made to rectify this situation ( say call the repair guy and have him come to my place now, it WAS only 4:00pm). I became quite angry and informed the person that I needed to hang up before I said something inappropriate. What had happened to customer service? When did companies stop working on Saturdays? Many people do work M-F and can't "be available" just like that! I wasted my time and I lost money taking a half day off. And all I get is "I sent my repair guy home for the day".
