Very long wait times past your appointed time. My recommendation - DON'T ASK ANY QUESTIONS WHEN YOU CHECK IN. I pushed back when I did not want to pay $100 for a urine test and stated I would NOT be taking drugs - I just wanted a non-drug neck pain option. That first visit I waited 25 minutes past my appointed time and had to leave because I WORK and had to get back for a conference call. I rescheduled and that visit they took me back on time and they put me in 1 exam room and then "moved me to a nicer room" for no apparent reason. After waiting almost AN HOUR PAST MY APPOINTMENT TIME and asking the staff about it (including the doctor who said I could reschedule and I said I already HAD rescheduled my appointment and this was it), I was told I was next but another patient was put in front of me although I had specifically asked for the earliest appointment and was given the SECOND SLOT, ANOTHER PATIENT WAS PUT IN FRONT OF ME ANYWAY. I am not letting people who play games like that touch me. I am getting care in Dallas now instead. I am finding that medical care in Amarillo really SUCKS!!!! Don't go there! The front desk is unprofessional. They talk about things they shouldn't talk about in public. They also claim that they take CASH as a form of payment. They DO NOT. My husband had to leave and go get the CORRECT CHANGE before they would see me. read more

My experience with APC was positive until after my stimulator was implanted. Unfortunately, my care with Dr. Luis Barboza became deeply concerning. He did not listen to my concerns and spent no more than five minutes at each visit. He was consistently late to both my appointments and my surgery. After the procedure, he failed to follow up on my symptoms or overall care. On one occasion, he even hung up on me while I was speaking, after not returning my previous calls. Because of these issues, I decided to switch doctors in hopes of receiving more attentive and compassionate care. My next doctor, Dr. Angus Lowry, was unprofessional and dismissive. At my first visit, when I asked if he could look into my symptoms, he responded with a firm "No." When I accidentally dropped something during the visit, he walked around me instead of offering any assistance. At a following appointment, he was condescending, verbally abusive and told me, "We are not here to wait on you or fix you. Let that sink in." He also falsely claimed that he did not have access to my MRI results. My experience with both physicians left me feeling disrespected, dismissed, and without proper medical support. I am sharing this statement in the hope that no other patient has to endure the same difficulties I faced. read more

They schedule appts and have no respect for patients time. Staff very sterile personalities and not friendly. The office staff just sitting around gossiping . So if you like waiting over an hour and subject to gossip girl conversation then you will fit right in. read more

Our doctor moved, so we needed a different pain doctor. The first appointment was a month off, but nevertheless, we set the appointment. We got there and it was a full waiting room. After a while they let us in, only to wait on the dr for an hour. We had previously sent all the medical records and imagery in along with the prescriptions for the last couple of years. Although the receptionist was professional, the medical assistant had no bedside manner whatsoever. Merriman finally goes in and flat out says he's not giving him any pain meds at all. He implies that my husband is abusing opioids and prescribes opioid abuse medication, nothing for the pain. I understand that there's a move against opioid abuse, however, there are other meds out there that he could have treated him with. Instead, the Dr dismissed the MRI, said that there's nothing he would do about the Tarlov cysts in his back and sent us away. To top it off, he tells us to go to his pharmacy next door then sends the prescription to our pharmacy at home two hours away. I was waiting for the prescription for two hours for them to tell me they had sent it to the wrong pharmacy, (this was before I knew the joke of a prescription it was) and I finally go back to the dr's office, upset after waiting two hours and the receptionist patronizes me by saying that it may take up to 24 hrs to fill. Will definitely be looking for a new doctor. This is just a place with a revolving door and I wouldn't send my worst enemy there. Save your time and money. Also, if you're wondering, my insurance is amazing and we've never had issues with payment. This place is just horrible. read more

Amarillo pain clinic is very good place , great communications , Tavyia is awesome nurse extremely polite and proffessonal, couodnt ask for a better nurse, also Amanda very good crew , Tavyia makes a sometimes long wait short with her humor and charm, this woman deserves a raise , very lucky ro have her and the rest if satt as well. While I'm very happy with dr merryman. Since he has joined this group I never get to see him or talk to him. And I feel that the group he has joined does not care about the patients. Seems all they care about is money. 257 dollars for a drug screen? And how is every 3 months considered random. And no the government does not require a doctor visit every month for schedule 2 prescriptions. So much has chained since he has joined and I don't think I'll be returning while he is with this group. Slow billing, they can't follow the payment arrangements that was put in place for my procedures. And getting someone to answer the phone in a timely manner is a challenge. read more

Hey advanced pain has been my pain doctor for over a year now. I have told time after time I wanted off I've all meds apparently they don't like to do that because it cost them money and one will not need to come in every month. Don't come in they make no money. I guess I complained to me be about wanting off of the meds that they said the found some pain med that I had never heard icon my urine sample and would not see me anymore. I'm an in cop that was injured maki g an arrest and got my back broken. So be careful if you go to them and don't make them angry. Or they will set you up to get rid of you. One other thing I not once saw the doctor it was al PAs crazy I know but I would not be able to pick them in a line up of one. Don't even know if it's a male or female doctor.
