We were passing through on a road trip and my little one was feeling terribly. We stopped in without an appointment and were promptly seen. Everybody was so nice and we felt cared for. We were in and out in less than an hour. The prescription was sent right across the street to the United grocery store pharmacy, and they were ready for us super quick. LOVE THIS UC! I have used this Urgent Care facility for years and it has never failed me! We live out of town and have a primary physician in our hometown. During "off" clinic hours or when I don't feel like we can get the best results at home, we travel to this UC. They are thorough and really listen. They have the ability to run quick test results and do x-rays. The medical providers have always been so kind. Yes, sometimes the waiting room is packed and the wait is long! But, if you are truly sick or need answers, the care you get here is worth it! read more

The waiting room is jam packed with zero patients. Admin staff says things are slow and getting seen quickly should be no problem. 2:10 p.m. - nurse takes vitals and leaves room; 2:54 p.m. - doctor comes in ... 44 minutes later. Patient feels forgotten. BUT: Doctor is very apologetic and friendly. Delays happen. But I recommend practices keep patients informed. If the in room wait is, say, 10 minutes, send someone in to update the patient. Do this periodically. Otherwise, patients feel neglected. read more

My husband is in his room in pain with diebetic neuropathy witch is very painful. He ran out of is pills, and tried to get some more this morning and we waited all day for them to get back to us but did not. So I called and they told me that she would be out for three weeks, and they could not find her. And there is no one who would say yes or no? Having a very injured shoulder I called and they said there was an hour and a half wait. I decided to wait in my recliner and go in at 11:30 PM and try to get some sleep in between. I got there and they were only two people there. I didn't look at the clock but my guess is about 45 minutes to an hour wait. Steve the PA came into see me asked me all the same questions I had already answered I don't know why they do that I had already drill on a bull's-eye on my shoulder where it hurt if he could see. Bottom line is they gave me another shot on my hip for the pain that my doctors office would not. It is not a steroid. They were supposed to call in a muscle relaxer her and I went to Walgreens had approximately 130 in the morning and they had not sent the prescription. I called them and they were gone the pharmacist called them but nobody answered. I thought maybe the punch the wrong button and it went over to United pharmacy at 45th. So I drive over there & it had NOT been received there either. REALLY???? I did get some sleep but now I'm waiting until 8:45 am when they come open the office. Now I know why there are so many Neighborhood ERs All over Amarillo. But I had already calling to qualify them and they charge the same amount as they do the emergency walk-in in my case it's $500. Thank God I already had other drink at home. read more

I went in because I was having pain around my left rib area and chest. They were having issues with X-Ray machine, unable to get done, and was told it's nothing major. I paid my co-pay upfront like they requested and I couldn't even get an accurate diagnosis of the pain I was feeling. I'm better off just going to the ER. Will not be back. read more

WE have used BSA URGENT CARE on Bell for decades and it has always been an excellent facility. People squawk when they are sitting and waiting in a nearly empty waiting room because they don't know how the system works or they should be at an E.R.. What they don't realize is that 5 or 6 exam rooms in the back also have patients in them who are being cared for. Xrays and labs take time. People need to learn to be patient. Urgent Care is NOT an E.R. If you are desperate to be seen right away and/ or in a lot of pain, go to an E.R. The staff at BSA Urgent Care are caring, capable and efficient. I am a newly retired ICU Nurse and would not go there, nor let my family go there, if it weren't an excellent facility. I highly recommend it. read more

The wait wasn't long the doctor was friendly and helpful. I was told I'd need a prescription but still on the second day and after 2 calls they still never called it in to my pharmacy. I'm still waiting for a call back I'm not counting on it. But I probably will contact the office manager someone isn't doing their job. read more

Bummed that I got sick and the NP refused to fill out my paperwork for my job. I have had perfect attendance at my job years in a row got strep throat and could not talk and she acted as if I was abusing the system to get out of work. Quit judging people because others abuse the system. Because we rely on you to take care of us. read more

Even though I'm personally not a fan of BSA I absolutely love urgent care! Every time I'm sick this is where I go, and I have been for at least 22 yrs. Yes sometimes there's a long wait but even on those days your in and out quickly once you get back there. Now they allow you to walk in and put your name on the list, leave and call to see where you are so that you don't have to stay and wait for hours. They are all super friendly and gave amazing bedside manners. The doctors don't make you feel rushed and take time to address all your concerns. It's really reasonably priced as well, which is a huge deal when you don't have insurance. They can do xrays here and stitches which is nice because you can avoid 12 hr plus long waits at the hospital er. read more

If your self pay expect a bill of around $200 for a sick visit, way to expensive. We were charged $230 for a flu test. Doctor told me I had a stomach bug and not the flu. He said To take Imodium and Tylenol. read more

We went here because we are self pay and they said they would give us a discount. FALSE! First appointment that ran a bunch of unnecessary test, prescribed some non generic meds, and said we had to come back the next day for a "short and cheep" check up. Went back and they charged us $100 just to look at our child and say "looks like she is getting better, keep up with the meds." read more

These people had my sister wait hours in an empty lobby when there was 3 no joke 3 other patients who got there after her and left before she was even called back only to make her feel stupid and charge her $3,200 for a dollar pregnancy test when she was too early along and needed a blood test then just sent her on her way ... The doctor was rude the service was inadequate.... I always thought BSA was a wonderful place to get genuine help but seeing how belittled they made her feel when she was SO worried that she had lost a baby showed me how much that hospital has gone to trash. I was pretty unsure of going to BSA Urgent Care clinic but I was so miserably ill that I went and I don't regret it in the least. Everyone was extremely sweet and helpful. Dr. Smith took care of me and she was very good to listen to all my symptoms and actually took interest in me, not making me feel rushed or unimportant. She wore a genuine smile and made sure to do all she/BSA Urgent Care Clinic could do to figure out my cause of illness. I had to receive fluids via IV due to dehydration and the nurse who did that was very nice and made sure I was comfortable. Two days later, I went back to the clinic because I still wasn't feeling too well even though I'd taken half my antibiotics for a bladder infection and each nurse who came to draw blood, give shots, and do an EKG was very nice and seemed to truly care. I was very impressed with this clinic. The only thing that may get to some people is the waiting time. I did have to wait a while for the doctor and in between tests but it was well worth it to me. I'm feeling better now and am so glad we have BSA Urgent Care Clinic! read more

Thanks to the efficient and compassionate care we received yesterday my mother got the emergency care she needed. The nursing staff, front desk and the Dr did a excellent job of accessing her serious medical condition and quickly arraigned transportation to the ER. I went in on a Saturday morning around 11:00 after calling ahead, they told me I would be seen within 15 min. After waiting 1 hour 30 minutes in the waiting room I was taken to the room. 45 minutes later I saw a Nurse Practitioner who didn't do a thorough examination and insisted I had an infection. I left the urgent care with a prescription for two broad spectrum antibiotics and a narcotic for pain. I called the N.P. the day after with some concerns about my diagnosis. She quickly dismissed my concerns and told me it was just an infection. I went to a specialist for a follow up appointment two days later and found out if the Nurse Practitioner would have just done a better exam she would have found the inguinal hernia I had which needs to be surgically repaired. If you must go here don't leave without all your questions being answered. read more

I was in Texas visiting family when I needed to be seen by a doctor so I went to BSA Urgent Care. The wait was long but to be expected at an urgent care. I was prescribed medicine, picked it up at the pharmacy, came home and took the medicine to then realize it was a sulfa drug which I am allergic to. I called the clinic and sure enough it was written on my chart I was allergic to sulfa but it was somehow overlooked by the doctor. This is terrible practice and I will never go here again. The doctor did not apologize but said he was upset with the pharmacy for not catching the allergy but yet he wrote the prescription. I don't recommend this place. read more

This place is GREAT! Sometimes people compromise great medical care for being able to "get in and out quickly." I honestly have to say, that at BSA Urgent Care, you can have both. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable of their services offered, pay fees, and that is just the first part of checking in. When I went, there were about 15 patients waiting to be seen ahead of me. As soon as one patient was discharged, another patient was called to the back right away. They were really on top of keeping their exam rooms filled which is a great sign! My only complaint was the Triage Nurse (Maria, I think her name was) a little on the dead pulse side. She wasn't overtly rude, but wasn't very friendly either...not really someone that seemed caring enough to get a chief complaint from a patient. I felt more comfortable discussing my health concerns with the attending MD, NP or PA rather than her which in my opinion, can help expedite the triage process if the patient is open and able to communicate freely with the triage nurse so that the physician knows exactly what the patient is there for. But there's usually one bad apple in the bunch and although I wasn't too pleased with her performance, or lack there of, I can't let her actions sway my judgment in a negative way, especially when everything else was right on track. Once in the back, I was greeted by Tim the NP, Nurse came in and collected her samples for tests, Tim the attending came back to give my husband and I the results and he was very informative and seemed caring and professional as well as answered any questions that we had. Nurse came back in to administer a shot and gave me my discharge instructions, all within 30 minutes of getting to an exam room. It doesn't get any better than that! This place ROCKS! read more

Went to BSA Urgent Care at 5 got into an examine room at 7 didn't see the nurse practitioner until 8 left at 9:15. I was there for over 4 hours. I just needed 3 stitches in my finger. 3 people where ahead of me. All of them went in to see a doctor plus 4 others that came in after me . When I asked about it that's when they put me in a room to wait there instead I guess. I was the last patient to leave the clinic besides a patient with an IV. I don't understand why I had to be the last one to be seen. Apparently anyone sicker then me got seen before me no matter what time they came in. Also the Workmans Comp paperwork was not properly filled out for the pharmacy so they would not fill my prescription and of course by then the clinic was closed so I couldn't call and get the right info. At least the staff and nurse practitioner were really nice. If someone would have told me it would be that long I could have went somewhere else. I live 50 miles away and had my daughter with me and it was a school night and she needed tone home. read more
