But, when my Doctor suggested trying a Cpap machine again I resisted. My last machine was finicky and the mask made me feel like Darth Vader. However, a sleep test that showed I was literally stopping breathing many times per hour had me reconsider. Enter Sleep Therapeutics and Bushra, one of the nicest human's I have ever met. Bushra used a cool app to measure the planes of my face and fit me with a small nose piece that was surprisingly comfortable. The machine she introduced me to was comprehensive and even had a heated tube for my chronically dry nose. Over the last +2 years my Government insurance has had Bushra and I jumping through a series of Draconian hoops to get my machine covered and she has patiently submitted paperwork and followed up with me, caring for my needs without complaint. Bushra is someone who truly cares. Her assistant Whitney is very kind and a great communicator as well. The personal interest and competency Bushra displays is something rare. I don't do well with medication, not my fault that I was born into this sensitive body but being dismissed as helpless because I can't take meds was disappointing. I found the doctor to be somewhat arrogant and very dismissive if you don't take meds, even though I've tried a few med over the past few years that reacted horribly with me. This place is a medication station and nothing more, no testing and not magical sleep program...just meds. My doctor can do the same thing.

Just received my replacement Phillips CPAP after 20 months of waiting. I was issued the replacement…read moreby a very officious, argumentative woman who proceeded to roughly throw my carrying case onto a pile of boxes as she impolitely ordered me to sit down. After telling her that it had been a long, long wait for the replacement, she argued with me about the time line. Then went on to explain that Peak sleep bore no responsibility as they were not the manufacturer. I explained that I had purchased the machine from Peak sleep and that (although there had been a recall by Phillips), Peak Sleep ultimately is responsible. She argued that this is not the case, but that I needed to sign a release form absolving Peak Sleep of liability in the matter before I could leave with the replacement machine. To add insult, she asked me to fill out a review of the Peak sleep experience. If I gave a positive review, I would receive six of the smaller CPAP air filters. If you enjoy being treated like garbage and paying around double the price that you would pay on-line, then Peak Sleep clinic is for you.

She provides counseling sessions of various lengths and frequency depending on your needs as well as specific and achievable advice that has helped me cope with my insomnia. I believe she is dedicated to providing genuine care to her patients. It does take a while for the Sleep Center to triage referrals from your family doctor but it is well worth the wait. It will change your life for the better.
