However, this particular clinic transforms a challenging necessity into an experience of profound care and attentiveness. The staff's professionalism and bedside manner never waiver, setting a gold standard for healthcare. Absolute Unwavering Commitment from Start to Finish! The commitment to patient well-being starts immediately. The receptionist staff are consistently friendly and welcoming upon check-in. This lighthearted, attentive approach continues with the Medical Assistants (MAs) who prepare you for your infusion, ensuring you feel comfortable and informed. This entire team excels at personalized care, making the effort to remember your name and treating you with genuine concern. Dr. Stephanie Lindauer (medical oncologist), Dr. Naomi Sigalove (breast surgeon)! A special commendation must go to the nurses who are the heart of this center. My absolute favorites--Carmel, Susie, Linda, and Kelly--consistently make patients feel like the MVP (Most Valuable Patient). Watching this dedicated group work together as a seamless team, welcoming every patient with kindness, is truly inspiring. From warm greetings to comforting hugs as you leave, their compassion is boundless. Despite the serious circumstances, this clinic is filled with laughter and love. They go above and beyond, providing snacks for long infusion days and fostering a remarkable sense of community. This supportive environment extends to the patients themselves, who become a network of friends, advisors, and therapists, sharing helpful tips and recipes to boost immunity, your spirit and navigate treatment. The staff also understands the importance of marking milestones. They celebrate the completion of treatments with joy, providing confetti and an award, making a difficult ending feel like a hard-won victory. Knowing you are in such capable, caring hands, where there is a general concern for your health, treatment, and overall well-being, makes all the difference in the world. If you are ever unfortunate enough to need care at a cancer center, this is, without question is the one you want by your side. You can even take your infusion on the patio! Which is wonderful when you need to feel the sun on your face, the trees that are close to the building give you a level of serenity with just the touch of nature the birds, the bees, and an occasional spider. Ohhh and they will give you as many warm blankets you need!

Since then, other ladies have told me of its effects with them. I didn't notice much the first couple months, then it hit me in my right leg and forearm. Would never had taken it if I knew. I had to get physical therapy for 6 weeks to help my foot and leg, and it still isn't the same. I am very disappointed in Dr. Lindhaur for not warning me about the side effects of this medication.

Dr. Leslie Klein, oncologist at Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers -- where do I even begin?…read moreI met Dr. Klein during my cancer journey around April 1, 2021 -- and no, it was not an April Fool's joke. Before meeting her, I had left another hospital's ER because of what I felt was a complete lack of urgency regarding my condition. I drove myself to another recommended hospital in Scottsdale, where I met Dr. Anderson, who was referred to me early on. He recommended Dr. Klein, and I told him I would call her the following morning. The next morning, I heard a knock at the door of my hospital room. To my surprise, it was Dr. Leslie Klein herself. I remember thinking, "Wow -- she makes house calls." At first, I was cautious because after a year-and-a-half-long misdiagnosis and several disappointing experiences with other doctors, I had nearly lost faith in the medical system altogether. Our first meeting started a little rocky because of my frustration and fear, but I later apologized to Dr. Klein -- my angel. Sometimes God truly does work in mysterious ways. Before meeting Dr. Klein, my first spleen biopsy had come back inconclusive, and the previous medical facility never even contacted me with the results. I eventually drove myself to their ER because of severe pain and personally requested the biopsy report. They even allowed me to leave with an IV still in my arm so I could get to the Scottsdale hospital and ask for Dr. Anderson. From the moment I met Dr. Klein, I knew she was different. She doesn't just hear her patients -- she truly listens. She never interrupts, maintains eye contact, and speaks with genuine care, compassion, and urgency. When my insurance company delayed approval for chemotherapy, Dr. Klein refused to give up. Through her determination and expertise, she arranged for another physician to perform a successful biopsy. Within days, my chemotherapy was finally approved. A CT scan with contrast revealed a cancerous mass in my spleen, along with lymph nodes that were also affected by cancer. That was the beginning of my battle with Stage IV Large B-Cell Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. The journey was long and difficult. It included extensive chemotherapy treatments and ultimately a bone marrow transplant. Today, as of May 2026, I am cancer free, and in December 2026 I will celebrate my five-year anniversary since my bone marrow transplant. I owe so much of this to Dr. Klein -- a truly caring physician whose determination, compassion, and partnership with her patients give people hope during the darkest moments of their lives. She was and is my angel, and I hope she can be someone else's angel too.

When I later reviewed the operative note, I noticed discrepancies between what he told me post-operatively ("we got it before it spread") and what was documented. After that surgery, did not see him in person--only nurse practitioner came by the next day. Communication with him was often vague and sometimes inconsistent, and important details were not always explained. On several occasions, the information he provided differed from what his nurse practitioner told me. The nursing staff did not always appear to follow standard protocols, and the office itself felt disorganized. Follow-up care was delayed, and communication sometimes lacked clarity and detail. Difficult to get questions answered times. Surgical decisions should have been consolidated into a single procedure, and a later second opinion suggested that portions of his treatment plan were no longer considered standard practice. His approach and recommendations also changed from visit to visit. While his technical surgical skills seemed adequate, I found his bedside manner, communication, and follow-up considerably lacking. He acts weird and gives off a weird vibe as sometimes his speech is non-existent or rudely talks so fast you can't hear a thing he says. Responds with sarcasm when asked questions. Throughout my care I needed clear guidance and compassionate coordination, which I did not experience in his care. His comments, behavior and actions don't align with the typical professionalism one would expect from a physician. Often left visits feeling dismissed or undermined. I ultimately switched providers because I wanted a dr who communicates in a consistent, mature and professional manner. In hindsight, I wish I had sought another provider sooner. Didn't realize what a lacking dr he was until I changed to my new provider. It's the difference between night and day. While others may have had positive experiences, I cannot personally recommend Dr. Janicek based on my treatment experience.

For two years I struggled on my own doing everything I could to give my body a fighting chance, with no support system, no doctor that would give me the time of day. I didn't follow their advice... so I guess it was either their way... or the highway. I was alone and out of my depth and getting more and more anxious that I was going to die. My mom asked me if I had heard of Sunridge Medical Center in Scottsdale, AZ. I had not and had not really considered traveling so far away to seek medical care, but after watching the patient testimonials and initially discussing my situation over the phone - I just felt like Sunridge was the place I needed to be. That was on a Saturday, I was on a plane Tuesday. It was nerve racking for me to meet Dr. Franco, was he just going to be another callous doctor that would treat me like I was stupid and not really listen to what was important to me? I had my guard up, I had been through so much at that point and I was no longer going to blindly trust another doctor. I remember telling him, "I need you to understand that I am here to participate in my own healing and I am not looking to be told what to do, this is my life and my health, and the only way I can go forward is for both of us to understand I want to collaborate to get to the bottom of this and find a way out". That took a lot of guts to be that up front and candid - but I had been victimized, bullied, terrified... and let down by other doctors - and I wasn't going to let that happen again. Dr. Franco didn't miss a beat - I guess he's probably seen and heard it all. He asked me to tell him my story - I asked, "since my diagnosis, or before?" and he said, "tell me your story from the point in time you think it is relevant". So I did. I learned more about my health in the few hours we spent together than I had the rest of my life. For the first time I felt supported, understood, heard and cared for. I felt like I was important, not just one of many patients. That was just the beginning of my care and experience with Dr. Franco and Sunridge Medical - and it just got better from there. I had traveled from Indiana to be under Dr. Franco's care - leaving my family behind. Although this was challenging in some regards, I found it healing in others regards. Sunridge Medical Center is an intimate operation - this enables them to have a great bedside manner - no one falls through the cracks and the staff earnestly gets to know you and care about you. I know it sounds totally cliche... and you'll hear folks say they treat you like family... but that is what I experienced, and what I needed. Through Dr. Franco - I learned to trust again. He was right there when I needed him - he never pushed me to do anything I didn't want to do - but he would gently urge me to considered some conventional treatments in addition to the incredible treatments he had formulated... He was opened to what ever would give me the best possible outcome - conventional / alternative - he wasn't attached the methods so much, as he was the outcome for the patient. I hate to think where I would be today without Sunridge, and owe a lot to my mom for finding the clinic, and much, much more to Dr. Franco and his incredible staff for taking baby steps with me so I could regain not only my health and trust, but my peace of mind.

Like most of us, 2020 was a hell of a year. I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer early February 2020. I wasn't getting the answers I needed in the beginning of my diagnosis. Dr. Rubin initially gave good information about the stage of cancer (Stage II) and the progression of my tumor. He also recommended the best Breast Surgeon and Oncologist on my insurance plan. Both doctors worked extremely well with my Naturopathic Docs. Dr. Coats came on board to sit down with us and start a comprehensive treatment plan. She did an amazing job of calming my fears. No one in my family had breast cancer, let alone any cancers. I really felt listened to at each appointment. I also knew that I could feel comfortable talking to her about my questions and concerns with all the medications/supplements I was prescribed. She ordered bloodwork to check my cancer cells and started me on high dose Vitamin C IVs. We were able to shrink the tumor a bit before my mastectomy. I was blessed that my tumor was not an aggressive one, my treatment plan was aggressive! I'm very thankful for the care I received from Dr. Coats during a tumultuous year. I continue to see her for follow up care. I love that their website is ListenAndCare.com because the entire time I felt listened to and heard!
