Went here with a fractured fibula and Dr Diaz said that I needed immediate surgery and got his "surgeon friend" on the phone to schedule a next day surgery for me at 6am. I was skeptical and got a second opinion with an ER doctor and an Orthopedic Surgeon whom both stated the injury will simply heal on its own and surgery is not necessary. Usually this place is 5 star but I give 1 star for receptionist initiative. I got here at 7:30 to be sure to be the first now I am 3rd and it is 8:35 and I still have not been seen. I came in for a blood test and was first in line, the receptionist could not find the order so I sat down to look for it on my phone. I woke up on my second day in the keys with a cold bug. Couldn't breathe felt like crap and went early and got in line at Advanced urgent care. They opened promptly at 8 am checked me in and set me up with an awesome group of nurses and doctors. Got me running again in under an hour. Was the first patient there. Doctor came and never checked my swollen eye, I'm sick, congestion, coughing, feeling dizzy earache. Waited an hour and 45 minutes until I started complaining never even told me what was wrong with me and just said they've sent a script to the pharmacy. The worst place ever. read more

We arrived there shortly after 8:00 they opened and finally left after around 10:30. The front desk was nice and we received a script to be filled out at a pharmacy near us. They did not fill out the script and we had to call them 5 different times over the course of the entire day asking about the prescription that we needed and getting them to fill it out. Extremely frustrating and disappointing. The providers seemed to be very forgetful and this was the worst experience with an urgent care I have ever had. read more

Dr. Thomas Morrison equally professional, and thorough; he is clearly competent Plus congenial! They were busy but thorough and did not rush or waste time. Highly recommend! MD said taking an antibiotic with my Warfarin would not be a problem which is absolutely not true. In fact, the antibiotic I was prescribed is the worse one he could have prescribed. He also documented all of these exams he did (listened to my heart, lungs, abdomen,checked my lymph nodes, neck, etc) and he did none of this. He looked at my throat and ears-period. Report was fraudulent. It is just fortunate that I am an RN and knew better. read more

If you want a N.P. and nurse in your face hounding you to do a covid test just for a sinus infection,  go here! I have been here 3 times this year alone, and no one before ever requested this. She stated she needed to know for if she gave me a steroid. Previous 2 visits a steroid shot was given, never questioned. The N.P. tried to give a certain med which if she had reviewed my charts from previously,  she would find that med didn't work for me, and 10 days later had to be put on a 2nd round of a different med. When I explained, she said well this is what we use as first line. With all due respect,  I understand, but we as patients, know our body. What works for one, certainly doesn't work for all. I requested an alternative and she hesitated but did rx it. I also requested a steroid shot instead as it works for me within 20 min, and she chose the pills. She also rx'd the steroid,  well so she said she was going to do, right as I left. I get to the pharmacy, waited for my meds to be prepared, go to pay, and what do you know, no steroid. Remember the whole reason that stupid covid test was requested by me... ya that, and the rx was not even at the pharmacy.  Go figure. So I call. Mind you this was 45 min after being seen by thr N.P. and told the rx was being sent over right away. The lady answering the phone at the front desk was not pleasant to deal with both times either. 1st call, puts me on hold, "hold on, hold on" she says, comes back to tell me they are sending it now. 25 minutes later, still waiting at the pharmacy, with head pounding from the sinus infection, rx still not received by the pharmacy. Call #2, "you need to hold on", on hold over 7 min, okay understand if someone is busy helping someone else, she comes back and states they are now sending it. Finally after 2 calls, it was sent. Over an hour later, head still pounding. And had been for 2 days non stop at this point. I call back and am told there is nothing they can do for 6-12 hrs. Had the N.P. listened the 1st time, checked my chart, and saw what worked in the past, this extended pain I am in, would not be happening. Was I in pain going in, and short myself, absolutely.  I'm sure I sounded rude as well, on my end, from the pain. Apologies for that.. when you have the same thing happen often,  you really get to know your body and what works and what doesn't. I will voice what works for me. I was so happy to find this place and get care for my son! We were vacationing in Islamorada and it was a day before Thanksgiving 2023 when I realized I had to get my son to a good clinic as soon as possible. Being in a rush and under stress I didn't memorize any names of the people that took care of my son, but all were friendly, professional, and super helpful. Thank you all so much, my son got better within a couple of days, and we all could breathe a sigh of relief and enjoy the rest of the vacation. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the Key Largo Advanced Urgent Care administers CT Low Dose Chest Scans! I walked in today, the office staff was friendly, polite, knowledgeable, great at multitasking and very accommodating! Kristel, the technician that walked me back to the CT Scan room and whom performed the Scan was equally as friendly, professional, very knowledgeable about the process and comforting as she explained what I should expect and made sure I was comfortable and asked if I had any questions prior to and post the scan procedure. I'm sitting in the parking lot but was turned down by the receptionist. Since I saw the hours posted online that the office is open until 5, I called to ask for an appointment. The same person told me walk-ins only and to get here by 4:30 (last patient intake). I live at mm 80.... Still Made it to the office where a note said call number on the door. So ... 4:21 my call is made but I had to leave a voice mail. At 4:31 I called the number again since no one had reached out to me. The receptionist then told me they already took in the last patient due to 4:30 cut off time. I explained that I actually made it in time .... My message is on the voice mail, however, she now says I was supposed to talk directly to someone. She says she doesn't check the messages until the end of the day (5p?) . I'm blown away ... she refused me service. I drove 20 miles stressed out to make it in the traffic. So, that's what a little 'power' does for some people. I don't usually vent publically this negatively, but, Yelp on my Map says business owners want to know. read more

They go above and beyond to help. I cannot say enough about this team. I go to this place instead of a primary care because I get better health care! Mixed emotions about this one. My son went in for a lump on his back. The care he received was first rate, no complaints about the Doctor or the care given. When we started to leave the lady at the desk told me that I could do self pay and it would save me money over filing with my insurance (thanks for nothing Aetna). I chose self pay. Self pay was $150. After getting home from vacation I received a bill for another $90. Turns out they went ahead and turned the visit in to insurance anyway, so now I am stuck owing another $90. Had it not been for that I would have said perfect 5 stars, but I feel misled about the billing. read more

Dr Z is the worst! I took off early from work for a persistent cough I've had for over 2 months. Tried over the counter allergy medicines and have tested negative for the covid! He comes in the room with a bad attitude and talking down to me, I try to explain my symptoms and he says no it's allergies, doesn't listen to my chest or even look at me. The poor girl he was training, I left...don't have time for rude stuck up condescending doctors. This place is fantastic. From reception (Camille is awesome) to the nurses (Cindie and Shorey are amazing!) and the attending doctors. It is a very friendly place; their bedside manner is second to none; better than any I have experienced. They are thorough and seem to truly care about my health and wellness. Being generally very healthy at age 50, I have found myself here 3 times in the last 3 months for various things. Each experience has been the same. Twice I had no wait. One time it was busy, but they kept me updated and I went and got some lunch while I was waiting. Visited AUC - Key Largo for the first time yesterday and was VERY impressed! The personnel were friendly, warm and positive. The wait time was minimal, less than five minutes, even though there were three people ahead of me. The office was clean and modern. I was attended by Nurse Lori and she was fantastic! She was clearly very knowledgeable and made sure she understood my issue, all while making me feel at ease. I would highly recommend this facility and its staff! I had a really bad ingrown toe nail. The doctor that saw me fail to numb my toe. First he try cutting my nail with scissors. It was the worst pain when he was digging with the scissor and try to cut my nail. He then said it was not working. They made me wait about 15m wail he find something that would work. He came back with a regular nail clipper. He started cutting my nail with out numbing my toe. He did a really bad job cutting my nail that i had to see another doctor. A month later I received another bill form the urgent care. It was a charge for $200 for a nail removal kit. I would had not mind paying the money if they would had been professional. It was clear the doctor didn't had a clue how to deal with a ingrown toe nail. read more
