They're all knowledgeable and will inform you or answer questions. I scheduled in May for an appointment end of July. Called several times and left at least 2 voicemails which were never returned, so I scheduled online through their website. I was never called but I was sent an email to confirm and filled out all my paperwork ahead of time. I get in the day of at 6:40 for my appt. at 7 and was told my appointment was "invalid" because I did it online, and that doctors weren't even in for another hour. The receptionist tried her best to help me, and was incredibly kind throughout our interaction, but this whole experience was incredibly unprofessional on the office's part and shows how poorly managed it is. My appointment has been rescheduled and I have yet to meet more of the staff, so I cannot speak to that, but the scheduling process alone is some of the worst I've seen. Such a shame that for those of us with OHP this is the best we can get. read more

I call and they tell me they have no idea what I am talking about even though I have multiple confirmation text messages confirming I am scheduled at the Beaverton location in Cornell. Then they call me back and tell me they rescheduled my next appointment at an entirely different location without my permission and that I don't take it I will have to wait until December, another 6 months. Keep in mind I have been patiently been WAITING 6 MONTHS already for this appointment that they just screwed up. Dentist was nice. They scheduled me for a cleaning and my insurance no longer covers it. They continuously send me appointment reminders, but I have been calling for weeks to try to get it canceled. I called for an emergency appointment on a Monday and they set me up for an appointment in Wednesday morning as well as an exam later in the month. Well come Wednesday morning, I arrive at the office and they tell me I'm nowhere to be found in the system. Neither of my appointments showed up. I refused to leave and my only saving grace was I knew the name of the dentist I was supposed to be seeing and they had asked me to come early to fill out paperwork. I even confirmed with them their own phone number (to make sure I was at the right place) and they had no idea whose number it was. Dr. Javier was really thorough with explaining what was going on with my tooth. He was patient and took the time to really listen to me. I wish I could give him a five star and the office a two... He even offered to do my exam that was cancelled the same day so I wouldn't have to come back. All in all it was a pleasant experience. My appointment disappearing was more than frustrating but I'm glad they got it figured out and managed to squeeze me in today. read more

Dr. Javier is THE BEST! He is funny and engaging during every appointment plus he works FAST! No body wants to be in the dentist chair longer then they have to, which is why Dr. Javier is such a gem! Not only does he do good, thorough work, he will make you feel comfortable! His staff is always so accommodating and pleasant to work with! Even though their office is a very busy one, they were able to get me in for a next day emergency appointment during the pandemic when other offices are booked out for weeks and/or months! Not plesed with the procedure that was performed on my 5 year old daughter. I was told upon my arrival. That they would be performing a root canal with no notice in advance. The biggest mistake he made was that administered a procedure on my daughter without my approval. Because of failure to properly explaining the location of the tooth he would be working on. He said it would be in the back wich was in fact untrue. After the procedure was over. To our horror, it was actually in the front of her mouth. Where it is quite visable. (She now has a metal cap in the front of her mouth.) This has caused a great amount of distress on both my daughter & myself. And she in fact has lost a great deal of self confidence because of it. I am horrified that because of this mistake he made in making a decision without my proper consent. That she will have to live with a very visable silver tooth for half of her childhood. (Until between the ages of 9 & 12.) Had we have been given other options. Like a non metal cap. This could of been easily prevented. Communication is really important. Not being informed correctly is not ok. Properly informing your clients & preparing them for what is to come is vital. We were not given that consideration on account of being on Oregon Health Plan. My other frustration. Is that on both appointments. The doctor went into very lengthy unnecessary explanation. Of why he felt anesthesia is necessary in his opinion for any future appointments. When in fact my 5 year old. Made it through a full root canal without it. However he felt discussing his opinion for 10 extra minutes was necessary. I feel this was not neccessary. Especially considering, he already informed us of this option one other time. And we already expressed we would prefer to avoid it. I felt the doctor needs to be better at honoring & respecting families wishes. I am left with mixed feelings with our visit. I did however feel that he was very gentle with my daughter. And I do appreciate his approach & for that I am extremely grateful. He made my daughter feel at ease. So thank you. read more

They dont send you any sort of appointment confirmation by email or phone and when you try to come in the office it's a mess if you can even get them on the phone. They have now cancelled my appointment twice. I tried to explain to them I was experiencing an unsafe living situation and I haven't been able to see the dentist for the past 3 years. The first time I came I was seated and asked to fill my paperwork and when I was finished they told me actually the doctor could no longer see me and to come back in a few days. Terrible customer service. I have been waiting for this appointment for two months. I had to completely rearrange my work schedule to fit in my appointment. Then I received a text message in the morning, the morning of the appointment, saying that my appointment was at 9 AM. Then a second text message came through, that said sorry we missed you. Please call to reschedule your canceled appointment. I called multiple times and was on hold for almost a half hour. So I showed up for my scheduled appointment, thinking their system was incorrect. Just to have them tell me that my appointment was canceled. Didn't I receive a message? This message was very confusing because I did not miss my appointment nor did I cancel it. If you are going to cancel a customers appointment, they worked everything around to be there, you need to call them personally to cancel the appointment or at least pick up the phone so the customer knows not to show up. I drove 30 minutes to my appointment and 30 minutes home. I would not recommend this office to anyone. I was also told when trying to reschedule that they did not know when their scheduling person would be in maybe sometime this week. I am a small business owner myself and this is a horrible way to run a business. If I ran my business, even half as unprofessionally as they do here, I would not be in business. This is absolutely appalling. The front desk staff is incredibly unhelpful. At the very least I hope this review makes the company re-evaluate how customers are treated here. I left this office 7 messages, I requested an appointment online and I even reached out to the corporate office of Advantage dental. In the 7 times I called the office they never once answered the phone. They never once returned the call. They never responded to the online request. When I emailed Corporate I did get a response stating they would reach out to the location and I would hear back in a couple of days. That was on 8/12/2022 and it is now the 24th. I sent another email to the Corp office asking for further help as nothing has been done and of course they did not respond. Not surprising as it seems ALL of the locations operate this way so I would expect the corp office of a company to do the same. I am not sure why they are saying they are taking clients when obviously they can't even simply answer the phone or return a call. I have switched to another dental provider all together. If you have the chance to run from this company I would hightail it out if you EVER want to get in to see a dentist. I understand being busy, but this is the most unprofessional thing I have come across. They are extremely short staffed, I haven't been able to get my teeth cleaned for over a year because two hygienists quit after mine was out sick with covid. I rescheduled my appointment 4 times and when I finally went in after a year of waiting she only did an assessment and took x-rays and then ran out of time to clean my teeth. It's good to know that I need a cavity filled but I would also like the plaque removed so I don't get more cavities. read more

They are unreliable with scheduling. I initially contacted them in January to request a cleaning. I had my initial appointment in April, not the cleaning. The cleaning was scheduled to be set at a later date in April. It was cancelled days before, and rescheduled to June 29. On July 27 I was contacted that they had to cancel the appointment. The earliest date they could reschedule was for late October! This is extremely frustrating. If you're expecting any service with them be aware that they will most likely suddenly cancel and won't reschedule until months out, which even then it's a gamble as to whether or not they will keep that date. read more

He was very informative and didn't make me feel bad about having cavities once! He made me laugh within minutes of meeting him. I had very poor experiences with the management of this company. My mother was assigned to Advantage Dental via her Medicare from Health Share Oregon last year. First, it took me hours to wait on the phone line in different days to finally spoke to a real person. Even though, it told you to leave a message, and someone will call you back. I left my contact information several times, it never happened. The same situation also happened at different offices (2021, September). Then, I finally made an initial appointment and wait for 3 months to see the doctor. Unfortunately, it was cancelled due to the doctor's assistance was not able to show up on that day (Jan, 2022). So, again, it took me hours to wait on the line to make another appointment and finally schedule a new appoint (March, 2022). Finally, my mother got to see the dentist who was really nice and helped us to make another appointment for teeth cleaning on April, 2022. Believe or not, on that morning, after we have arrived the office at 8 AM, it was cancelled due to the hygienist' absence. And, we have to make another appointment for teeth cleaning on September, 2022. And, I wish it won't get cancel again. If you have a choice, I would recommend you to choice another dental service. Since we all have to take a sick leave to see a doctor, who want their appoint to get cancelled? And it is obvious that the Advantage Dental Group doesn't not understand nor care about that. read more

The patient care from Dr. Christiansen has gone down drastically since Advantage Dental bought them out. The practice has cancelled and rescheduled my cleanings 3 times this past year. I even spoke to the practice manager who assured me they wouldn't cancel this last time. The worst is they have a huge sign out front saying "Accepting New Patients." This billing issue is getting more and more frustrating. My husband and I both went in for the same initial exam and cleaning and one of our appointments was covered at 100% for preventative and for the other, we were charged over $30 for an X-ray that they never informed us wouldn't be covered. Our kids both saw their pediatric dentist and one of them was given more X-rays than the other, according to our EOB, but yet the one that had less X-rays was charged over $50 and the one with more X-rays was covered at 100%. Both times my husband called to try to get it worked out and was told they would look into it and call him back. Both times no one called back. I've never on my life had to pay for preventative dental care until my family started coming here. We can't afford to receive our 100% covered preventative care here any more. Worst place to get any sort of care if you could even call it "care". Constant last minute bumps of appointments until we had to say no. Was told to get a procedure. Show up on the day of the appointment to be told that they had scheduled only a cleaning and that we'd have to make a new appointment that could be weeks out. Oh and never mind intense pain, we'll proscribe an insane amount of pain pills only to be called back saying that we probably need antibiotics instead!!!!!! Twice in one week they have canceled my appointments a half hour before I was to go in. I had to take a day off a month in advance for the first appointment, take medication ahead of time an hour before due to a medical condition. A few days later they call me 30 minutes before my 7 AM appointment which I had to get up an hour and a half early for, get a refill for the medication that I had to take from the last cancellation, take it this morning and guess what, they cancel AGAIN.. this was my rescheduled appointment for my previous appointment.
