I'm in the 'middle' of life and there is no way I'm going to be restricted for the next 40 years by the constant pain of two bulging disks I have somehow developed. These guys have helped me get rid of the acute five-year-long pain, understand how/why the pain is caused and know how to manage it going forward. I am so much stronger as a result of Physical Therapy of Newport! When I got a Physical Therapy (PT) prescription, I asked the Dr (Weinstein) to recommend PTs who were also trainers or Pilates instructors. If you're active (at 15 or 75), I fnd it's best to work with people who are athletics-focussed than someone who provides basic PT. I called five places (I do my homework). Several of the PT facilities have you work with the therapist for 15 mins and then pass you off to someone else to run through your exercises. Not here - I am constant movement with a PT for a full 45 minutes. (Plus, you can do a cardio warmup beforehand.) Gabor, the owner, took time to understand my situation, my lifestyle and between him and the other PT guys I worked with, they all provided a plan that challenged me and produced great results. I've seen people recovering from hip replacements, rotator cuff surgery, spinal surgery, etc and regular people of all ages working out. Coincidentally, three people mentioned Gabor and Physical Therapy of Newport when I told them I was going into PT. The place is even out of may way (I live in AV), but the attention, the exercises, the friendly/personalized environment, the quality of the team and the improvement I've seen are all worth it!

She helped Annabelle learn how to walk up stairs, she continued to strengthen Annabelle's core so she would develop better body mechanics. Johanna has helped transform Annabelle's life by giving her skills and the ability to use her body properly! She helped teach Annabelle had to walk backwards by motivating her with games and singing which Annabelle would respond too very well. She helped with teaching Annabelle how to sit in a chair. She even help teach Annabelle how to have better balance and be able to kick a ball and jump! Johanna has been so amazing over the last year very professional and timely. The sessions are advertised as 30 minutes, but in reality they feel much shorter. The therapist usually spends the first 5-10 minutes letting our son play, then about 15 minutes on actual therapy, and the last 10 minutes cleaning up and wrapping up the session. When I called to ask about it, the person I spoke with said it's because insurance only allows them to bill for 15 minutes of therapy. It's frustrating to pay so much when only about 15 minutes of the appointment is actual therapy time. Overall, we were not impressed and ultimately decided to pull our son out.

He has high sensory needs and severe speech and language delays. He loves the equipment and toys at this center for OT. Some speech sessions can be challenging because he's not motivated to talk, prefer to be under the table instead, etc. Our main Speech Therapist here is Ms. Vidya, she is fantastic! She has made so much progress with my son's speech. Chris and everyone here are very knowledgeable, experienced, and professional. These sessions not only have helped my son but also helped me with being a better primary caregiver for my son. It's really just from observing what work or doesn't work with my son during sessions and by asking questions to Chris and his team. One of the things that these sessions help me with is having a better understanding of my son's physical needs and being a better problem solver. For example, I was able to practice certain things outside of sessions to help my son with like desensitizing loud sound from hair clipper/hand dryer, putting on his clothes independently, etc. Overall, we are so grateful to have MyKidsPlace in our son's life.

The difference between seeing Dr. Nassos and the other doctors is that you can tell he still cares about his patients! He asked me some questions and gave me his medical opinion of the status of my knee. He also answered questions I had on next steps, as I am still in constant pain. As a first-time patient and a nurse, I found Dr. Nassos to be professional, knowledgeable, and caring. He is easy to speak to, and I only wish that I had met him before my surgery. I would definitely refer other friends/family members to him for their ortho needs.
