Last, repair wasn't done, wasn't done correctly, or sabotaged due to issues with his fee. Also he lost my address & didn't show up the 1st time, then came 1.5 hrs late the 2nd time, which ruined my plans for the evening. This guy is a thief! My rating would be zero or negative if possible since I'm out almost $1,000 at this point.

A tale of two roofing jobs…read more It was the best of roofing jobs, it was the worst of roofing jobs. It was a messiest of roofing jobs, it was the cleanest of roofing jobs..... I live in the 'urban core' which is one way of saying the homes in my neighborhood are close together. About two months ago our neighbor had a new roof put on that was NOT with A New Rooftime. She didn't bother telling us. We came home to our front, side and back yard covered in shingles, shingle wrappers, nails and tar paper. I asked the workers if they were going to clean it up. Once they found the jefe that spoke English, he said they would. I was suspicious because the trucks they came in were junk and had nothing on the side of them. Not that that is needed but it's somewhat expected. Anyway, they didn't really clean up. They busted about four of a potting plants. We picked up best we could but are still finding the occassional shingle bit and nail. Last week, A New Rooftime came and did a nice job in no time flat. There was a bit of miscommunication in scheduling it (could have been my fault) but they were also in a hurry to get it done before a forecasted weekend of rain followed by snow. I coudln't be home for it. Neither could my wife. When we did get home, everything was done. Everything was cleaned up. I even have a beehive I told them about and it wasn't messed with at all. I spent some time outdoors and haven't found any of my old shingles in the yard or bushes...although I did find bits of my neighbors. It cost more than I wanted to pay but I'd waited too long to get it done and the damage was rather obvious. My fault but since I couldn't be there they did email some updates and things I needed to know about. I was really impressed.

Here are the issues: Price !! was ok, but i got another estimate from another roofer and his price was exactly the same but with far better dimensional shingles. Cleanup and Yard Protection !!!! Terrible. When I raised the issue given that we have plants all around our home and need to protect them and our yard, here is what she emailed me -- "When it comes to the mess, it's just part of the process. It's a mess until it's not. Nails and shingles will be everywhere! In this case even more so-with 60,000 nails with 3 layers of roofing" --Becca I investigated another property her company did through a friend who used her and the feedback i received is that lots of plant damage. They would not use her again. She simply says "it is part of the process and if you can't live with that, use someone else" OK her Competition: far superior: ***** he is putting a slide in from the roof to the street, not throwing shingles and nails in the yard, and he is also draping canvas all along the roof and over the plants in case something falls. That is huge difference!!! Net the competition offered the same price, better shingles, and meeting my customer need for getting my shingles and nails off the roof without just pitching all this heavy roof stuff over the edge and onto my grass, and plants!! I have learned two things. Lady on the roof, That girl Roofing, The Roof Girl seem to be popping up and selling based on strong woman run messaging. In this case, they have a story, images of standing on the roof on their websites with a workers belt with hammers and tools hanging off. What I have discovered is that they appear to be just marketers and using subcontractors from Mexico, Guatemalans, and Hondurans to actually do all of the work. It appears that the same crews are being used all over this area by roofing marketers. They collect a major check on each job with the illusion that their employees are doing the work. That they are on the roof with them. It appears many of the roofers are smartly using these crews. That is why I suspect that I got identical bids. The difference that am getting with the choice I made is: higher quality shingles, no mess, with a focus protecting my yard, shrubs and trees around our large two story home I would not know this unless I dug into it the details and some web searching. Thought I would share my experience for others who may benefit from my experience. I just believe there may be something helpful for you in sharing my experience. Cheers
