I called Collin based on his positive Yelp reviews, and he not only found the source of the problem pretty quickly -- we had a rotted doorsill next to our deck -- but devised an effective solution. The first thing that impressed me about Collin was his willingness to come to our house and spend an hour without charging getting the lay of the land and forming a hypothesis for what the problem might be. Once he diagnosed it, he had the skills and tools to address it. We have not had another drop of water in that area since, and it rained twice after he made the repair. While at our place, Collin also fixed a patio gate that was sticking and a garage door that seemed to have developed a mind of its own, closing only when it felt like it. It was a great relief to get that taken care of. Collin charges $65 an hour, which is not cheap but is probably about the going rate in San Francisco. He's pretty busy and might not get back to you right away. That was the case with us, but I'm glad I had the patience to wait until he was available, because he did a fantastic job for us.
