Dr. Vargese in the Bethpage Medical Office wanted me to wear a heart monitor for 14 days because of concerns on my EKG. As insurance typically does, they denied the claim. Rather than appeal it and provide more information for the monitor, the doctor just said oh well we can give you a 24 hour one. I said ok but the problem is I am not having symptoms everyday so there is a good chance nothing will be picked up. She said "yea probably but insurance rejected the one you need." She didn't even make the attempt at getting it approved. I called the insurance company myself and they said they had requested more information from the doctor to approve it but she did not respond. PA Jeyisimi saw me for very low blood pressures in the Valley Stream Office. I asked her about medications to raise it since it was a constant low and making me dizzy and fall. She said there is nothing I can take and just go to the hospital. I said I am sure there is something I can take. She asked a doctor who also said there is no such thing. I went to the ER because my pressure was at a dangerous level. They sent me home with Midodrine, a medication specifically used to raise blood pressure. I will say, I disagree with most of the reviews about the front desk. I have not had anything but positive feedback to give. They have all been very pleasant and accommodating to me. read more

This place was named incorrectly, I believe it should be called Disadvantage care because going here puts you at a disadvantage. If you're having any heart related problems go elsewhere because the Cardiologist is a DR. Singh Padmakshi and she is awful. Because of DR. Singh I have not Been paid over a month . Dr. Singh refuses to cooperate with my disability insurance MetLife and provide them with results that she ordered test for me to get done. They tried to call her several times plus fax over forms I authorized for MetLife to get information on my behalf. I'm currently looking to get a different Cardiologist elsewhere!!! read more

Three calls of trying to find out how to get my medical record info so that I can deactivate my online account and still cannot get this done with the methods reps. are telling me. Given the runaround as in "talk to help desk," "request this via the portal," "call medical records," and blah, blah, blah, all to no avail. This is not rocket science, yet their system, portal, customer service, et al., are not adept or prepared to handle such an easy request. Looks like I should have come to yelp before I went to this place. What a waste of time! It's took 3 weeks to make an appointment. That should have been my first sign. Finally the day comes and they can't find my name in the system. Turns out my last name was spelled wrong but common sense would suggest you search in some other manner. Ok, appointment found, insurance confirmed, I'm waiting to be called. 40 minutes later, I check back in with the same front desk person to ask if this is the usual wait. It's my first visit and I don't know how things flow in this office. For the most part they seem very busy. She says, oh yeah it can take some time but you should be called shortly. 20 minutes later, while pacing the waiting area (because at this point my patience are running thin) I get a call on my cell phone from someone else at the front desk telling me they're cancelling my appointment. The appointment I'm standing here waiting for for damn near an hour! I'm looking at her at the front desk as she speaks to me. I walk over. "I'm right here. I've been here." Apparently I was never officially checked in! Now I'm extremely annoyed as the front desk person tries to blame it on a "glitch" in the computer. I'm 100% sure it was human error. Now they're scrambling to get me in to see the doctor but since I've wasted an hour waiting... she no longer has time to see me! Three weeks I waited for this appointment, now this! I've been here three times. First two times were decent. The third time I came I had an appointment. I waited 20 minutes to get called back. Then after 20 minutes waiting for the NP I popped out of the room and ask if they had forgotten about me. After about another 20 some odd minutes I left. I have taken all my children to see Dr. Sophie Bichotte-Ligonde, and the youngest is now 18 and will leave her soon. She is the only doctor he has ever known and trusted since birth. Dr. Bichotte-Ligonde and the gentleman who has been the nurse who assists her are the epitome of professionalism, and caring. She is extremely knowledgeable and understands children well. Update: I called 11/14 to schedule the lab work. In the midst of my call I informed the rep of my previous experience thus requesting an appointment time that will allow me to complete the lab work. The representative informed me the lab actually doesn't close until 4:45 so they actually told you wrong. If you're at work feeling lazy, go home! If I could give this place a 0 star I would give it just that. I made an appointment and left my job two hours early and only to find out there is no one available to see me. Then tells me I have to wait for an hour for urgent care hours to begin. I speak to administrator who tells me she has put me in and has went around the loops but basically fails to mention that she put me on for urgent care so basically didn't actually do anything for me. I'm not feeling well and this isn't the first time that this has happened. There is absolutely no level of compassion just a bunch of inhumane people working. My son used to go to Dr. Berberis. He's knowledgeable but in honesty may need to retire soon. I liked him but his nurse Annie or whatever her name is, she is rough, rude, dismissive and should NOT be in the field of care for anyone especially NOT children particularly babies. Because of her I no longer take my baby there and I've told others looking for a pediatrician not to even think of taking their little ones there. I called a month in advance to see if Dr. Berberis could monitor my son while I give him a taste of peanut butter. With some children having allergies to nuts I'm very nervous about it. God forbid a grandparent gives him something with nuts and he has an reaction or anaphylactic situation what then? Anyway I was told that the doc would spend some time with my son. When I got there the nurse Annie or whatever said we won't do the peanut butter bc you're not allowed to give babies o peanut butter until they are 3 years old. I have friends and family members who give their 1 and 2 year olds peanut butter and jelly sandwiches so I was taken back. I was going to give him a taste not a spoonful for starters. I had water and a bottle ready as well. Nurse: if you're asking for something bad to happen it will happen Me: that's not sound advice, what if he has a reaction can I give him Benadryl? Nurse: Yes! Me: how much? Nurse: give him whatever you want and if he have a reaction take him to the ER right away Me: that's ridiculous. I understand but can I give him Benadryl just in case Nurse: only bad moms give their children peanut butter before age 3 I said you weren't any help and that's ridiculous. I was walking out and the doc's medical assistant stopped me and said we don't give babies peanut butter bc it's a choking hazard. I said I'm not giving him a spoonful only a taste and she said no...... last time I stepped foot in there. They are horrible and not kid friendly. Not informative and could have said we can do an allergy test if you'd like or something not the nonsense the nurse was telling me. You don't even feel welcomed there. This urgent care location is ok. It's conveniently located near my house which is good. I've never been a patient there however my husband has. I went with him on 4 separate occasions so I've see first hand the care that they give. The urgent care starts at 7pm and ends at 11pm if I'm not mistaken. It's usually a good amount of people, not anything crazy. The wait time was about 2 hours for all 4 times we went there. The staff is friendly but it honestly depends on who you get. I went there tonight hoping I'll be able to be seen. My regular doctor is temporarily closed for renovations so I decided to come here. Unfortunately they had a sign saying that no adults would be seen tonight, only children due to the fact that they had no adult Doctor. I found that soooo dumb because majority of the people that came to be seen were adults and it was so sad that people including myself were turned away. That's the only issue I have with them. I wish there was an option for zero stars. This place is the absolute worse. The front desk workers are loud, ghetto and rude. I came here in January on a Sunday morning right when they opened up. People were lined up waiting to sign in while the co-workers were chatting loudly in the back. No one even bothered to put out a sign-in sheet for like 20 minutes. So people were lined up waiting the entire time just to sign in and not lose their spot. Imagine being sick and week as hell and having to stand on our feet at the doctors office. I saw Dr. Johnson and told her that I "thought" I had strep throat and pink eye. She did a quick look through of my eyes, ears and throat and wrote me a prescription and practically threw me out of the door. I had to stop ask her to do a throat culture to confirm whether or not it was strep. I'm breast feeding which she was well aware of and I didn't want to take unnecessary medicine regardless if it's safe to pass to the baby or not. Anyway, she said it will take a couple of days to get back the results. I called 3 days later, was transferred 3 times...each time having to explain why I was calling. Finally then said the doctor will call me back the same day. Of course she didn't. A week after that a nurse called me and said the results were negative. By then I had already seen another doctor for a second opinion. On top of all that for the pink eye she prescribed an eye ointment! WTH? Why not eye drops??? You know how annoying it is to put ointment into your eyes 3 times a day. Smh. read more

I've been going to this doctors office since I was a child and I'm sorry the patient care has gone down the drain. It is true the wait is easily 2HRs even if you show up on time. If you are 15 mins late they cancel your appt. Today I waited nearly an hour as watch people who showed up later than me be ushered in for their appts. At the end of the day this is an insurance collection farm. They prioritize appts where they can collect most from insurance companies with procedures and etc. If your there for a checkup or to be diagnosed for flu/virus or any low cost procedures expect to wait longer. So i made a 1245apt with Dr. Vanita Kaul for my father in law. Got stuck in a little traffic and i was 5-10 min late. I called ahead and they said no problem just get here before 1pm. I got there with abou 5-10 min to spare. Dr .Vanita Kaul refused to see my father in law even though he was there before the 1pm as stated over the phone. We explained his concerns were urgent and and pleaded but they wouldnt take him. Im positive Dr. Vanita Kaul was long gone. They said she would call to follow up to his concerns and to give him another apt. Never was called or anything. This was the last straw. Dr. Vanita Kaul was unprofessional and lacks compassion along with her staff. Finding a good doctor these days is like trying to find a good mechanic. She needs to find a new profession so the real doctors can help people in need with some actual people skills as well. read more

The worse staff on this planet. I needed a second mammogram due to unidentifiable masses appearing on the first set of images. My doctor took 2 weeks to relay that information to me. Mind you the radiology department had contacted me immediately after my results were in and scheduled my second appointment. God forbid my doctor take the time to contact me and explain the issue. The pediatrics department is not any better. I had to inquire why neither of my children (ages 16 and 10) have never received a blood workup. The pediatrician made it seem like I was asking for something unreasonable and ordered the tests because I insisted. With so many illness showing up in children, would you think it shouldn't take a parent inquiry to order such tests. In fact, their new pediatrician order tests immediately without me asking. Go figure! The wait time is ridiculous! What is the purpose of scheduling an appointment if nothing runs on time? Occasional emergencies are understandable but every appointment I have ever had required me to wait at least an hour. In fact, the one time I was 15 mins late for the GYN appointment I was told by the doctor herself that she couldn't see me that day and I should have been on time. Wow! The nursing and administrative staff are beyond rude and uncaring. It has taken me over 2 months to receive a completed form my health insurance requires me to complete so that I can receive a premium discount. The form literally asks 5 questions (height, weight, blood pressure, etc.). I was given a variety of excuses as to why they could not complete it. First it was they never received it. Then it was the nurse for my doctor was on vacation that week and she was the only one that could complete it. Then it was back to them not being able to find it. Finally they confirm receipt of the form and complete it only to then tell me they cannot fax it back to me due to HIPPA laws. You cannot make this stuff up. I wish I could say this was the first year this has happened. It's not!! I have been utilizing the doctors and this facility since the days of HIP. Corp ACP needs to retrain the staff before the patient count diminishes further. You cannot believe patients will trade customer service and skilled professionals for convenience. read more

The only reason I still go here is because of Doctor Sarkissian. I changed my dermatologist to a outside practice and my gynecologist. They just don't care here. I hope they don't lose this wonderful doctor. They mess up my referral every single time. I waited online for referral for a hour. They gave me a referral for the wrong thing. I went all the way to the doctor to find out I would not be seen. It would be different if it was the first timeZ this is the third time this has happened. It always the same thing. Somebody doesn't take the time to read and make sure they are doing the right thing.It's a doctor I have been seeing for about two years for the same diagnosis. It's like we are not important at all. ABSOLUTE WORST EVER! I usually go to the Lake Success office, but they no longer have the specialty I need there. I've been to this VALLEY STREAM office a total of 3 times and have waited MORE than an hour and a half EACH visit. I make appointments for a reason, but this office is terrible at keeping them. I was not certain of what to think of my visit ...left there feeling confused and frustrated at the same time. My wait was not long, which was great. However, the Doctor(an endocrinologist) greeted me with a lecture or rather a scolding regarding why I felt the need to see a specialist. Of all things, I felt as if I had to defend myself in my explanation, which was, "ummm...aren't endocrinologist specialist who treat individuals with diabetes?" After my attempt at "explaining" the purpose of my visit, her disposition changed to a more cordial one. I guess I was taking up another patient's time or something? At any rate, I don't believe that I will visit this facility again. Granted I might not have the conditions she mentioned that warranted "a visit to an endocrinologist" which I am thankful for, but darn, my goal was to get a better hold on my health from a professional trained in that area as oppose to my primary care doctor who just keeps prescribing me insulin during a 2 minute visit. Since the change from Queens Long Island Medical Group to Advantage Care I've dealt with nothing other than horrible services. The lack of moral is visible. Staff are no longer genuine in the care of patients. The wait time is horrendous. This morning I was scheduled to see a nurse because I haven't been feeling well. The nurse at my job advised me to seek medical attention since my symptoms were a bit concerning. The nurse at Advantace Care evaluated me and stated I had to see the MD. I arrived at 10 am. At noon I asked how long would it take me to see the MD. I was told there was 4 people ahead of me (each visit lasting anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes). At 1 I asked how much longer and the receptionist states she just entered my name in therefore no telling how many people were ahead of me. At 2 I find out I was rescheduled for another MD and 2 people were ahead of me. I explained I was in pain and very uncomfortable sitting in the waiting room. I was advised next time I should go to urgent care rather than scheduling an appointment. read more
