First off, know that this review is open and honest due to the overabundance of stays my mother has…read moreracked up over the years. With that being said, let's get it cracking. 1. The main entrance parking lot in itself although spacious, it tends to be full all the time. The handicap parking is sparse. they could stand to create more for people who have difficulties in walking or are wheelchair bound. The emergency parking lot is the biggest disappointment. There are only 3 handicap spaces and it is the smallest lot on the grounds. They need to make that lot bigger, especially since this lot has the most continuous traffic. 2. This hospital is clean and the layout is actually pretty simple and easy to manuver. You can easily find your way around. There are only 4 floors in this hospital, 1 cafteria, 1 coffee bar, 1 gift shop and one cancer treatment wing. They also have a donation shop called " Mario's closet" that has wigs and hats, make up and other trinkets and items for cancer patients. 3. The staff on the surface are friendly, quick to serve.and always lend help when needed. This is where the review has to sway differently because because each dr, nurse and employee of the hospital is personal and varies depending on the person. All nurses that I have spoken to are very nice, some are bubbly, others are simply nice. All have been helpful. There have been a few that go above the call of nursehood. Dr. Scarborough, Dr. Harms, Eddie the ER/RN, and a slew of nurses, and assistants have treated my mom like the princess she is. I wish I knew every name, but there are too many to keep track. 3. The cafeteria is spacious, kept sufficiently clean and the seating is comfortable. The food choices during the week are ok, not great, but enough to sustain life. The weekend however is so disappointing. First of all, the breakfast they serve is usually powdered eggs, bacon strips, sausage and biscuits and gravy. This may sound good, and during the week it may be, but on Sat and sun, the bacon will sit under heat lights until they are fried pencils and the sausage can grow legs and walk..and the eggs will be like foam. The worst part is you will be charged for each individual fried pencil and walking sausage at .89 cents and .79 cents. They do have a grill option for freshly made food, however the hours of operation are very weird and rare. And again, you will have a cow when you are charged $3.89 for a cheeseburger that is small enough to fit in one hand. Yep, the food is pricey and a lot of times you will have to ask how much something is, because most of the prices are not listed to which this works in their favor. Beware..this hospital food is a wallet drain. I know this review is long, but overall this hospital is ok. They do a fairly decent job of caring for their patients. Some things I would change, some I've learned to live with. Overall, this hospital is ok. They have to be for me to trust them with my mom

From Admissions to the nurses, to the pharmacy and the Doctor, they were ALL amazing!! The Doctor also was very knowledgeable, he understood my rarely dx'd condition without my having to explain what it was. The surgeon also understood my condition and made a desicion for my health based on her knowledge. I was so grateful to be treated here by so many awesome humans. So thank you from the bottom of this Texas girl's heart!!

I was taken back by a nurse, but still left to handle insurance questions on my own while in significant pain and distress. After treatment, I was told I could return if my toe continued bleeding. When I returned because it was still bleeding, I was questioned about why I was there, despite following the instructions I had been given. I also overheard staff talking about me at the nursing station in a rude and unprofessional manner. Overall, the lack of intake support, poor communication, and rude treatment from staff made an already painful emergency experience much worse.

That visit was probably a 4.5 grade, with my only complaint being a minor delay before the receptionist would check me in. THIS REVIEW is from my 02/25/2023 visit, which was 3 weeks to the day past my first visit. BEFORE walking in, I saw the 2020 COVID-hysteria you MUST WEAR A MASK OR YOU WILL NOT BE SEEN signage. Okay, whatever. I donned a mask and I walked in ... no one there. Looking around, I saw a sign that said, "Use the doorbell for service." I was in the process of looking for the "doorbell" when a woman popped out from a side door. I say, "popped out," but literally she only came HALF WAY out ... and stood with the door covering half her body, as she curtly asked: "What's your emergency?" I said, "It's not really and emergency, but ..." when she interrupted me, saying: "If it's not an emergency then you're in the wrong place. THIS is an EMERGENCY ROOM!" She proceeded to rattle off a series of urgent care options, taking care to cover the legal aspects of her coverage options saying, "I cannot advise you where to go." (But she can certainly tell me where NOT to go!) So, before leaving, I wanted to tell her why I was there, and have HER tell me if "this" was or wasn't an emergency in HER eyes. She snapped, "I cannot give you medical advice!" (Apparently her entire spiel is lawyer-approved.) I said, "I don't want medical advice. I just want to tell you what's going on. After describing the issue, one more curt response from her before I said, "I guess I'm leaving then." No apologies. No, "Hope you get to feeling better." No ANYTHING except the same rude almost-confrontational demeanor that I had dealt with the entire time I was there. Based on her last response, I gleaned that she was the ER doctor and by God she won't stand for a "GOMER" (Get Out of My Emergency Room"!) coming through her hallowed doors! I was made to feel that I was beneath her, that my medical issue was beneath her. By God, she didn't go to medical school to treat sniffles, splinters, and whiny babies looking to be coddled, nosiree! No worries, doc, you won't have to deal with the likes of me again.
