It was so bad I asked the staff if it was being remodeled. They said NO. Took a lot longer than it should to check in, be seen, then discharged even though the hospital seemed almost vacant. We were taken to a large room where there were several sets of 2 waiting room chairs each partitioned with a metal pole type roller shaped into a square with a curtain covering the center on each side of the chairs. No privacy visual or audible. ALL your business is out there. They went around to each station and gave each patient a dose of steroids and antihistamine. This place is a joke. I'll try Cartersville or Rome next time.

I was a patient last night (4/25/19) and came in with Stage 2 Hypertension. I couldn't get in touch…read morewith my doctor (part of the AdventHealth system) so I checked the Internet and went to the hospital. I got there and there was only one person in the front waiting room and one person in the Pending Results waiting area. I thought I was in luck and would be seen quickly. We checked in at 7:40 p.m. and everyone we saw acted like I needed to get to an exam room quickly. The Check-In person took my information and asked (aloud) for some information from my wife. She seemed to be multi-tasking between answering the phone, directing people walking in to the right rooms, and this check-in process. Abruptly, a woman came in to the back of the Check-In area looking for someone so she could eat with her and ended plopping down at a desk and started eating in front of us. She continued to distract the Check-In person while getting me checked-in and slowed down the process. I sat in the waiting area for a few minutes and was then taken to a room to get my vitals (BP: 172 over 104), then to the Pending Results waiting area. A young man came after a few minutes and took me to a room close-by to do an EKG. Just as he got done with the EKG, another nurse came in to draw blood. Before the nurse could get set up to draw blood, another nurse (rudely) interrupted her to take me to get chest x-rays. They took two x-rays but were rushing around like they had more patients. I think their food was getting cold or something because they weren't in the x-ray room later when I walked by. The blood nurse had waited with my wife while I went to get chest x-rays. My wife said she got pissed off and was leaving the room when I came walking back from X-ray. This young girl set her tubes, tourniquet, and needle on a chair she dragged up beside me and got on her KNEES to draw my blood. A couple of times, she shifted on her knees and moved the needle in my arm. Not fun! She got done and left. We sat there a few minutes and another nurse came to take me to an exam room. We sat in the exam room for 35 minutes before the Admissions person came in with an iPad for me to sign something I couldn't read because the signature block covered most of the page. It took her a while to get the iPad to connect and bring up the right records but she said I couldn't be seen until I did this. WHY WASN'T THIS DONE BEFORE MY CHEST X-RAYS, EKG, AND BLOOD WORK, THEN SITTING 35 MINUTES IN AN EXAM ROOM!?! BECAUSE A SECURITY GUY WAS FLIRTING WITH HER THE WHOLE TIME! Another 30 minutes later, Nurse Jackie (her real name) came in to check my blood pressure on both arms and tell me that they were waiting on the results from the x-rays and EKG. BP at this time was 165 over 102. While waiting, we noticed workers coming and going at the counters outside. Some were talking about hospital business and some were flirting with each other (especially a tall, Security guy) and nobody seemed to care about any patients. We waited until almost 10:00 for Dr. Pottinger and she didn't know what medication I was on or why I was even there! I asked her if she had even looked at my chart and she said she did but I had to tell her why I was there, my medical history, and showed her my medicines I had taken in a baggie. She then prescribed Clonidine and steroids. She said a nurse would be in shortly with the medication and they would wait 30 minutes to see if my BP came down. [My blood pressure was already coming down!] 15 minutes later, Nurse Jackie came back with the meds and said they would check on me in 30 minutes. 40 minutes later, nobody had checked my BP or came in to check on me when the doctor came back and asked if I had been seen. She attempted to take my BP but didn't even know how to operate the machine! She said the nurses push her away from the machines because she always messes something up. Not only is this NOT a good "bedside manner" but not good information to give to a patient. She finally got the machine to take the BP and it was 157 over 99 (but she left it beeping and someone had to come in and turn it off). The doctor said that my BP wasn't dangerous and that it should come down through the night. After she left, we waited until 11:10 p.m. and nobody had come with the prescription and discharge papers. We left the exam room and went to the only person on the floor (the woman from Check-In had moved to Admissions) and told her we were ready to go. She asked another woman where Chad (?) was. They tried calling him on the radio but he didn't answer so she got up and went looking for him. A few minutes later, he showed up with discharge papers and acted VERY arrogant and upset that we had bothered him while reading the information out. I signed out and left. I don't recommend using this hospital EVER.
