PATIENT BEWARE! I went to the hospital and was admitted thru the ER and had.my gallbladder removed. The last day i was there, the nurse and student kept.testing my blood.pressure numerous times and it kept.coming back low. I finally asked her to use a different machine and it came back normal. The.nurse and student were clearly embarrassed by this because I never saw them again. Noone ever came in to.discharge.me I finally had to.take matters into.my own hands and get dressed and walk out. I went in E.R. a woman ran in with crazy eyes and stuck me with a syringe and held it in hard and painful . All security came in when I yelled get the fuck off me and she still just stared into my eyes while hurting me. Security acted like it was all my fault but I told the head nurse that the woman still holding it in my arm sideways did not know what she was doing and should go back to school. she was later convicted of faking being a nurse . I recently had a procedure at the Radiology Department at the new Palm Coast Parkway Advent Health. My nurse, Monica, and the radiology professionals, Zeke and Steven, were very caring, kind and sweet. Tina, too. I was also impressed with how nice the portable x-ray techs were. I want to say thank you to each of them, and to let everyone know how exceptionally caring these folks are. Even the staff at the main desk is friendly with a fun sense of humor! My daughter went in for an allergic reaction. I verbally requested multiple time for nobody to enter our room that wasn't an employee of the hospital. we didn't want multiple bills months later. that didn't happen. we then noticed that they gave us somebody else's discharge papers with their personal information. go hippa and when asked about it they didn't know who they gave my daughter personal information to. they have absolutely no regard for your request and plainly just don't care. this is one of many things wrong with our health care. they don't care just pay them and move on. request a quote and the actual bill comes out much higher and all they can say is it was a estimate. estimate that they missed by about 300%. plus another bill from a 3rd party doctor that we multiple times told them no. their response was we signed the consent form. so when you are at your weakness, they prey on people. when more people push back against this broken money grabbing system, then hopefully it will change. read more

I have been to the Advent Health outpatient center twice now - most recently last week, when I had an x-ray. Check was very fast, and my wait time was only a few short minutes. The volunteers and staff are all very friendly and professional - I have no complaints! Lovely location, and and there is lots of parking. They even offer a valet service, if you are so inclined. read more

I went to the Lab Palm Coast Hospital on 100 to pickup an occult blood stool kit this morning (7/14/25). I informed them I needed to pickup the kit. There were 2 employees whispering while I waited. They made me stand there approximately 20 minutes. Finally one of them turned around and opened the drawer behind her and handed me the kit which took about 10 seconds. This was the second or third visit to this ER. The staff was wonderful, listened to my problem, and provided the treatment I needed. I had knee surgery done by Dr Alter. From the minute I walked into his office to my surgery care team to walking out n coming home , I was treated like a person not a number. To have MY dr pray with me before entering the operating room was a testament to how he cares. My knee has been a challenge but my recovery has been spectacular. Estimates & Billing have NO IDEA what's going on. They do not communicate. They do not honor their price quotes. After paying for my surgery in full they have billed me 45% more than the agreed upon "prepaid" (yes I prepaid) rate for self pay. I then receive another bill in the mail for 45% MORE than the agreed price. I'm expecting only one anesthesia bill for $1254 but the girl on the phone for Advent Health tells me it's for the anesthesia doctor- she LIED TO ME ON A RECORDED LINE. So after paying $1350 (clearly more than $1254) she tells me I have a $0.00 balance and still receive a bill for the %45 more. I never do receive a "0" balance statement. Then 1 week later I receive a bill from the anesthesia doctor for the $1254. Now we are calling our credit card to cancel the $1350 payment to Advent Health. The bottom line is they are confused and try to get you to pay for things you did not agree to when arranging to prepay for the surgery. If they were able to bill insurance they started at $31,000 then later brought it down to $24,000 but when billing me and trying to get more money they reinstated the old discarded $31,000 estimate. Bottom line- I will not use an Advent Health Hospital again. They are disorganized, dishonest & do not do comprehensive billing. read more

I have a renewed impression of this hospital based on the care they have given to my elderly father recently. Back story...8 years ago this hospital was horrible. I joined Mayo Clinic since. However, 8 years later, today, my elderly father has had to be in their ER, then eventually admitted into the hospital. I can't say enough about the awesome care he has been given there. From the Flagler EMTs to the ER, to the hospital staff, the experience has been beyond expectations from any hospital I've experienced. Obviously they've had some sort of management change because this hospital is top notch. Even more impressive than Mayo. The doctors, nurses, techs, administrative, are so caring, so attentive, so professional, so efficient, so responsive, and so communicative. Doctors call me on the phone to update me if I'm not there when they see him, nurses and techs not only take good care of dad, but they tend to me and mom offering blankets, pillows, water, food, and especially kindness while we sit at dad's bedside. They are so very patient with dad when he has sundowners episodes. They treat him with dignity and respect, and love! They don't judge. I give this hospital triple five stars!​ read more

My husband was seen at the ED today and I would like to share my concerns. He has been experiencing back and chest pain. He has been seen by our family physician twice in the past two weeks and has been unable to sleep or eat for the past few days. This was so alarming that we decided to go to the Advent Health ED in Palm Coast, FL. The process for admitting him and being seen by the PA was very good. He had lab work and a CT scan. His blood pressure was extremely high so he was given IV pain medication and after about 90 minutes the blood pressure returned to normal. We were then informed that the results came back as "normal and he would be discharged and was ready to go home. He was given a referral to a GI physician and told to see a chiropractor. I contacted the GI physician and the next available appointment is August 26. I explained to the ED staff that I was unwilling to leave without an acceptable plan. The staff did the best they could in managing the situation. They were professional but oppressed by the hospital policy. I was told that my husband did not meet the criteria for admission. The charge nurse was the only person with an attitude. I asked for an explanation and she told me that the criteria were too complicated to explain and she did not have time to provide the details. I find this attitude insulting and condescending. Because we were unwilling to leave, the care coordinator called the GI doctor and made an earlier appointment. We are thankful that he will be seen in approximately two weeks. Additionally, he was given a prescription for a mild pain medication. I find it more than ironic that Advent is a faith-based organization and appears more interested in following the policy, making money, and have little to no interest in patient care. Unless we are taken there unconscious, I will NEVER return to this nightmare of a "hospital." If you have an option, I suggest choosing a different facility. read more

There are no words to describe how poorly this office is ran. The medical staff are great but the office is a disaster. Literally have secretaries giving medical instructions without it coming from the Drs or Nurses. Make assumptions and having patients risk themselves and their finances and then say well I was trying to help. I don't know who the office manager is but they need to clean house. read more

Truly one of the best ED visits I have ever had, and, unfortunately, I have had dozens. I have a rare, chronic illness and needed the ED for a quick evaluation during a busy time in the after-holidays chaos. The team there listened to my husband and I, quickly accessed my medical records in Epic, triaged me appropriately, and did just enough, and not too much. We found the team empathic, humble and patient centered. I've been treated at many academic medical centers with huge reputations and suffered medical errors as well as had my condition deteriorate because arrogant providers decided not to listen to us or use protocols. None of this happened at Advent. From the very beginning, people were kind and competent. Within seconds the nurses had identified serious issues in my medical record that could impact my care in the ED if my condition deteriorated. Everyone on the team was focused on safety, checking wrist bands and asking for two identifiers. The treating provider humbly stated, "You know more about this than I do, so I need your input here." We agreed on a plan that some providers in the past would not accept...This team seems to understand: no one cares more about their health, than the patient. The team did all of this in difficult conditions-- clearly PC has grown faster than healthcare. The volume in the ED is too great for the physical space. Nevertheless, the team worked together, never looked physically flustered or stressed out and made use of the resources at hand. read more

From the moment I started the admit process with Debbie at Doctor Campbells office until I left the hospital it was the best experience I ever had at a hospital! The staff are polite, friendly willing to answer all my questions, my nurse in preop was Donna and she was the kindest nurse I ever had! This place is Crooked as heck. Double charged me. Double charged. Got 7 different bills for one stay. All charging me for the same thing Advent charged me for. Took advantage of someone that was on pain medication. Took me from an out patient without telling me . Did test without consent. I was turned down for financial help. I was making payments for 5 months what I could pay. Seeing I live on 850 a month. The lady told me to pay what I could. They demanded I pay 280 a month. Which I could not do. When I went to pay this month it wouldn't let me pay so I called to make payments and was told they turned it over to collections. Which wrecked my credit. They did this without any notice or anything. They lied. Have called 14 times asking for them to take us off there mailing list and still getting them 41 mailing have been sent back. Bunch of Crooks. It is extremly difficult to speak with ANYONE. We are told to press this nimber for something , and another # for something else and on and on it goes. Finally a message tells me to leave a detailed message. I'm beginning to feel that Advent's cvommunication system is monitered by a team of ROBOTS. I have been a patiten of one of your specialists for over 22 years and the best I could do was a wait in excess of six months. Good God!! I could have died waiting to see my doctor. This is outlandish. The billing procedures are unacceptable. When calling the billing department with a question they say that they sent a letter of explaination. It should not take over 2 weeks ( I'm still waiting) for Letters from their offices in Palm Coast to me in Palm Coast. So was scheduled for CTA scan yesterday as many of you know at #AdventHealth Palm Coast. I called several days before to find out what to do to protect diseased Kidneys (near stage 4). Well and good, drink lots of water before and after. Got there early, filled out usual forms, went in for scan. Tech said: "you're allergic to contrast die." "Yes, it's on all three of my hospital admissions in the last 30 days." "Well, you have to be pre-medicated, check with your ordering Dr." Now, it's 3pm on a Friday afternoon. Vascular surgeon is only in office on Tuesdays, when he is expecting to review CTA and discuss next steps (carotid & subclavian surgery). After several calls to record messages, got answering service and his cell. By this time I'm blubbering so Jean called, Dr. answered on first ring (with wind in the background). He was very unhappy, would call Radiology early Monday and come for appt Tuesday. BTW: #AdventHealth finance office called last Wednesday asking for $175.00 co-pay for this 20 minute procedure on a 15 year old GE BrightLight 16 scanner. Was told the 'charge' was $3,700.00 of which UHC/Medicare would only pay $188. THEREFORE, THE LAB COULD CHARGE THE MAX COPAY. This CT scanner can be LEASED for $1,600 PER MONTH https://www.meridianleasing.com/products/ge-brightspeed-16-slice Say $3,200 per month (rent/utilities included) / 2 scans per day X 20 working days = $160! Zero stars if I had the choice. The administration lady was absolutely the rudest person ever to my wife on the phone. My wife called to confirm her appointment, just to find out it was canceled. They cited "no insurance information.". What?? No call to get the info. No call to see if we pay cash. After asking very simple questions about the cancellation, the rude lady (who is obviously very comfortable in her current job) decided she didn't want to fix the mistake they made, started exaggerating her breathing, became very short and hung up on my wife. What kind of customer service is that?!! You don't cancel appointments without speaking to the patient....Period!!! Whoever this rude lady is, needs a good lesson that she's replaceable. A Ms. Christina Bowman saw my husband who has been under severe distress and basically told him to go to a psychiatrist instead of actually treating his anxiety. Instead of helping someone she left the room saying she felt uncomfortable because she's pregnant because he questioned her decision. Then she proceeded to leave him in the room for 20 minutes with the door open while she spoke badly of him to her colleagues. This person is not a doctor. Why do we continue to let people who aren't qualified see patients at medical clinics. This person should be immediately fired. read more

I will avoid this hospital unless it's a medical emergency. The hospital runs a scam on billing you at time of service in ER. They charge you what your insurance shows your deductible would be but don't check to see if you already met it. Then they don't notify the insurance that you paid anything. Finally they bill you for your portion of remaining bill. I went to the hospital explained what happened. They said that's our policy and you have to contact our billing company if you want your money back. This may just be a scam on senior citizens or it maybe done to all. read more

I would not even give 1 star as this ER does not deserve it. My friend went in tonight with the right side of his body numb and his heart beating rapidly that his Apple Watch said HEART ATTACK. His face was lowered on the right and he couldn't move his right hand so what do they do????? They gave him a chair and said to wait at least 2 1/2 hours. With those symptoms that's what they do? I think not. Took him to a different hospital where his EKG has abnormal lines. 2 months ago my boyfriends has bad stomach issues and bleeding in bowels and was in and out of a sleep it was so bad I called 911 and they left him at the door so good ole advent said here is a chair with a 6 hour wait time. Just came across these reviews and have to put my two cents in: my brother in law was taken here for a brain bleed and after being intubated we were told they couldn't do anything because he needed a neurosurgeon and they do not have one; I asked can't they drill a hole or something and they said no, a neurosurgeon has to do it. So they passed him off in a helicopter to Mao in Jax where he passed. Definitely not like on tv!!! No heroic actions here. read more

Well, We moved to Palm Coast 6 yrs. and We were told the Florida Hospital in Palm Coast was bad. Well We went to the ER at around 11am and We are still here (4 1/2 hours) in a smal partion area. They took my wife back twice and twice other person came by looking for here. Talk about not knowing whats going on. I would rather drive a half hour down the road and go to the Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine instead. This place needs to get it's shit together. The cafeteria is closed and the only vending machine area is just junk food!!! I will only come here if brought by ambulance and unconscious!!! Ok!! Update 6 hours and funny We started in a triage roon for 20 minute's and 4 and a half hour in a half partion hallway only to end up back to the triage room to be discharged. I told them that she needed to be placed in a reclined (bed) position. Hopefully the discharged would not be another 2+ hours.. read more

The patient has been to the ER about six times in the past year and always has excellent care. Unfortunately he had to go to ER in Palm Coast on Thanksgiving. He was so amazed at the great care he had and that tests were done so quickly. Chris was his primary nurse and very intelligent and explained what he was doing. The nurses and staff are definitely a team and helped each other. A few weeks ago, he went to Mayo's ER since he also has specialists there. He said he was disappointed by their lack of communication and care and said he would give the ER a very low rating. They only have about 25 beds there. The patient is now in a room and pleased with his care. read more

Went to ER here this week around noon. Was checked in and triaged. Waiting room gradually filled to capacity. Waited an hour until taken back to a room, where testing began. Blood work, EKG, x-ray, and eventually it was determined a CT scan with contrast was needed. Lots of waiting in between each test, but unfortunately that's normal for most hospitals. ER department was very clean and modern. All staff were professional, caring, and friendly. Staff communication with patients could be improved. Patients should be updated more frequently on what is happening and when. Information is great to have when you are sick, scared, and frustrated from waiting. Yes, they are overworked I'm sure, but more updates would go a long way toward patient satisfaction. Also, was not given printed discharge instructions upon release. Accessed their Patient Portal once I got home, and read them, but felt this was an important oversight. All in all a good experience, but with room for improvement. read more

Went to the ER on Friday. I have a history of digestive disorders (ulcerative colitis, ibs, pancreatitis, diverticulitis, etc) got to room, was told that I had acid reflux! My pancreas was inflamed, blood pressure was 211/108, fever, vomiting, couldn't eat or drink anything. I was given pepcid..period. No fluids no pain meds no anti inflammatory. Doctor said I'm not giving you a catscan!!! Wtf!?!? Discharge me with extremely high blood pressure, no wheelchair to take me to door. I barely made it out the hospital door to wait for my ride and collapsed in the grass, vomiting. NOT 1 PERSON from the hospital came to see if I was ok. No compassion whatsoever!!! read more

This place is amazing! I'm from California visiting and my 11 month old took a fall from the couch. I came to this hospital as it was the nearest hospital to where I was staying. There was no line upon arrival, easy check in, was seen by a NP and for extra measures even a Dr! They did a thorough check of my sons eyes, ears and nose for any bleeding. I was in and out of the hospital within 1hr and they put me at ease. Told me to watch my son for the next 4-6hrs and if I had any concerns bring him back any time. Thank you so much!! Dr.Arcott (Critical Care Doctor) ICU was awesome! He provided exceptional care to my Dad who passed, due to no fault of the care my Dad received. He showed empathy when needed most. I would definitely recommend AdventHealth to family, and friends. Kayleigh my Dad's nurse was great! She answered any questions I had that was within her scope of care that was giving to Dad. The charge nurse Tascha thank you caring. Thanks to the all the Hospice staff. My Dad's nurse Cheryl was horrible. She treated me as if I was a stranger to my own Dad. When I asked her questions she mumbled responses to me like if I could read lips. I hope that I never have to encounter her again, because I would definitely ask for another nurse. So because of Cheryl's actions I'm giving four stars. Otherwise it would've definitely been five stars! read more

My husband and I haven't been in a hospital in 19 years. When my husband needed major surgery, it was a very smooth process from pre op, surgery, and his one overnight stay. Dr. Alter is amazing. All the staff we came into contact with were excellent. The only thing that I didn't care for was the registration clerk contacting us the day before stating that we had to come up our full deductible when we come in for surgery. Then she told me of a few other options. We agreed on the last option. I asked her if they would deny my husband this surgery if we didn't have enough for the last option. She didn't answer me. It's not like this surgery was an elective. Our situation was not the normal. My husband fell down a flight of stairs while we were on vacation. Had this accident happened when we were at home, we would've went to the ER. I understand they want to be paid and they will get paid. However, to act like they were going to deny his surgery if we didn't come up with a large sum of money was very upsetting. read more
