My husband went to ER for severe headache and basically not feeling well. Could not get appointment with primary for over a month. Arrived at ER at approximately 1pm on a Thursday. Seemed like things were going to move along smoothly, triaged right away, got blood work done then ct scan all with in an hour of arriving. Sent back out to ER waiting room. 4 hours later still waiting. When we asked desk person they said "we are waiting for a bed to open up".... we don't want a bed, we want to know the results of CT scan and blood work. Can't get results until you are in a bed!! I went to Urgent care/rapid care yesterday. I went just as they opened so as to have a smaller crowd /shorter wait. No one was there! No one outside. No one in the waiting room. No one! The receptionist looked at me and asked what I wanted. I said I was having heart attacks and wanted to see a doctor! She said there is NO doctor and no doctors are available in lake county. Yup, darned Adventist Medical!!! Too cheap to hire doctors and too cheap to rent some temps. read more

We drove 2.5 hrs to come to the Adventist hospital emergency room because I vowed never to go to any hospital near me again after a terrible experience..This place did not disappoint!We got there about 7pm ish Several people arrived before me so my wait was about 30 min or so to get in room..The guy who took vitals was wonderful!He was very caring and nurturing as he knew I was nervous..The doc was great and the nurse..The x-ray guy was also wonderful and fast....I was diagnosed in and out within 2 hrs..It was worth the trip to get good care with wonderful people....Huge difference between a faith based non profit than all the for profit hospitals..Just so much gratitude this Adventist health was close enough for me to do this! Surprised by so many negative reviews but I suppose if they get a lot of people at once the wait will be longer..Just look at reviews for the other for profit hospitals like Sutter and they are terrible...The Google reviews for Adventist health are pretty darn good tho and that says alot! read more

Took my father here a few weeks back, he was very sick and not doing well. We waited for four hours and at this point my dad is in the parking lot laying down, he was having trouble breathing sitting up. I go in to ask for an update, the check in volunteer proceeds to tell me: "I am watching him from the window, I have administered bar an many times he is in good hands" I reply: so you think he is a heroin addict? I am not sure how that experience applies here? We left drove down the mountain and received much better quality of care. This is the hospital people go to die- DO NOT GO HERE! My dad was admitted to the ICU and will hopefully recover. If you value you or your loved ones life do not go here. read more

WORST HOSPITAL EVER!!!!!!! I had really bad alcohol poisoning and had been vomiting and couldn't stay conscious. I was already embarrassed. My mom had called paramedics so I was transported to this dump. When I got there I was told to do the normal routine of taking off my shirt to put on a gown and was placed on the monitor. I was freezing so I have clicked the button to get a blanket, half an hour goes by and no one comes. I clicked it again and was finally brought one. The doctor comes in (Even Matthew Chisum) asks me what's going on so I explained to him the situation and all this POS does it check my pulse and say "there isn't anything we can do for alcohol intoxication and you can go home to sleep on your own bed. Your getting discharged". I needed at least a bag of i.v fluid to replenish what I lost vomiting!!! After I have signed my discharge papers I was brought out to the waiting room where I was waiting for my husband. I got nauseous and vomited on the floor and ended up having a seizure. The nurses didn't care and didn't do anything except get housekeeping to clean up my vomit. This sweet woman sitting next to me was the only one showing any compassion and concern. This facility deserves to be shut down or at the very least remove the staff that could give a shit less for their patients. I recommend going over to Sutter In Lakeport. Farther distance but at least you'll have a doctor with more compassion than the loser I had gotten last night. This facility should be ashamed and I will advocate for action against my treatment. read more

I was injured on 8/27/20, I saw Dr Birkbeck in Saint Helena Orthopedics. He stated that my left thumb implant was collapsed and did damages and implant of 31 years needs to be replaced and other components of the left thumb needs to be replace. I have had two surgical dates cancelled by his office and after almost 5 months doctor said he would have his scheduler call me back with a firm day for surgery. It's been almost two weeks and the scheduler refuses to give me a surgical date. She has refused to call me back and has been unethical to hold up my surgery because I have complained about her not scheduling my date and no calling me back. I m not sure who to file a formal complaint on their lack of care. Do I call medicare, or contact the state on their neglect to fix my hand. It's elderly abuse to make a 71 year old senior go 5 months in the pain and refuse to help me. read more

This was the worst medical care I've ever experienced, and I survived a botched appendectomy that gave me sepsis. Dr. Megan Smith (psychiatry) is not only combative and condescending, but also devoid of compassion. If she and her office are incapable of treating moderate to severe cases, that should be communicated clearly at the outset, not six months into treatments when the patient, who has taken prescribed medications, complains of no cessation of symptoms. I am less healthy, not better off, after interacting with her and her office. read more

Lake County is limited regarding medical care but there's Sutter Hospital in Lakeport which has a connected primary care clinic which is superior to Adventist Health system. The one doctor at Adventist Primary clinic is inexperienced. There's only one hematologist in all of Lake County-Dr Turrill (who says he no longer takes my insurance) There's a hematologist office in Ukiah which is connected to Adventist and so far they have been totally incompetent and I haven't been able to get an appt.(this could be due to cherry-picking and not wanting to give me an appt-- I had an experience like this with them years ago). So I'm stuck; I expect Sutter will help. Hardly anyone to provide Colonoscopies through Adventist. A real lack of medical providers. (maybe if they paid them properly they'd attract more people?) I am very soon severing my relationship with Adventist Health. read more

This secondary hospital looks, feels and is run like a 3rd world medical facility. It's dirty, cramped and disgusting. The ER staff tells COVID positive people to sit next to negative people waiting. If not for the COVID people warning others, no one would ever know. The small ER waiting room and triage area are dirty and grimy. People waiting are made to sit shoulder to shoulder with others with no respect for Germ COVID contaminated patients and other non COVID people. Maintenance is non-existent and doesn't clean up or disinfect anything in the waiting area. We watched as the staff allowed people to walk in with just Face Gators and no mask, as they appeared to be friends of the staff. When people would ask about how much longer it would be after waiting hours, the uninterested staff would just walk away and as their backs turned, tell people "it's going to be a long time".The wait time was absurd as you should expect to be at the ER for a minimum of 8+ hours. Watched many people just get up and walk out after 6 hours of just sitting there. A person could drive to the Santa Rosa ER where it's sanitary , have the visit and drive back in less time it takes to be seen here. The wait is one thing, but the unsanitary conditions are inexcusable. We felt unsafe the entire time we were there and ended up leaving as we were told it could take another 4 hours. **UPDATE received a call from the ED department head who acknowledged the unsanitary issue and lack of maintenance. He went on the say COVID protocol were being adhered too until I cited specific issues with the ER friend only wearing face gators. He also defended his dept. that COVID patients don't know if they have COVID until seen by the staff. WHAT? That is even more of a reason to separate possible COVID infected people from NON-COVID people. At the end of the conversation, he did say he would look at my complaint. read more

Pathetic Hospital... Arrived at 10pm... thinking it would be slower and quicker... Slower yes, Quicker,,,, NO. 4 1/2 hour wait to see "Dr" Christopher Roden for water in the ear... in less then 5 minutes he proceeded to puncture my middle ear, cause me great pain and did nothing to help me... said he was going to write me a prescription then left... 1/2 hour later... still no perception.. Ear now bleeding... And the Super NON Understanding charge nurse... Janelle,,, could understand why after being there for 5 hours, now 3am, why I was upset...??? Headed to the Real Hospital in Lakeport to see if they can fix what "Dr" Roden screwed up in my ear... Never Again will I go to this Abomination of a Nasty Dirty Unhelpful Unfriendly Hospital... My son got very sick, so I had to run to this hospital. I can't thank enough to the amazing staff who assisted us. They're so compassionate, careful and sweet, they made a horrible event be smooth. Dr. Calloway is such a hard worker doctor. We checked in at 8 am. It was 6 pm and she was still there working. Talk about an amazing professional. She was so great to us. God bless her. The nurses were also so wonderful... Jennifer, Miguel and the other ones who took care of my baby... I have no words to describe how grateful I am to their terrific care for us. My husband has had a throat injury and has had xray done and ultrasound done on throat and the doctor says nothing I wrong. Now he has an ear infection which has lasted a month now yet they still say there is nothing wrong. No pain meds or anything prescribed. All the doctor said was to wait a whole nother month for the throat specialist. Meanwhile my husband is in so much pain, he told the doctor he might as well go home and kill himself, and the doctor(mahammad was the name I believe) told him he's not stopping him. This is unacceptable. I cannot believe he would say that. I don't recommend this place. read more

My son did not receive very good care at this hospital. Was there over a week. Was pressured to take him home on a Sunday. Went to Sutter in Lakeport on the next day Monday. Was in that hospital another two weeks. If you have a choice avoid Clearlake hospital. Sutter in Lakeport is so much better. So glad we moved from Lake County. read more

I am writing to tell you that you need better management at the Clinic in Clearlake. I have been turned away 3 times now for service, because they said I didn't have an appointment. I am a retired professional and I don't like to be told, " No, you don't have an appointment ", when I have the appointment card they gave to me. People plan their life around their appointments. I had my Heart Doctor ‍ send information to the Clinic for my appointment, where I was also going to ask for my x-ray for another specialist, but guess what? Your Clinic is the weak link in the chain. Nothing was accomplished by showing up for my appointment as they told me I didn't have one and was given a card after I complained for Gabriela Carmona, your " Experience Coordinator", who has an answering machine. Wonderful patient service, what a joke. Seriously disappointed, but that's what I have to deal with in this situation, due to where I reside. Sad state of affairs. I guess when in a poor community, this is what you receive. Very poor management, very poor. One day I showed up for an appointment and no one was there except a receptionist who informed me that they were having a get together at the Hospital and that's why the Clinic was closed. She told me that she was surprised that I had been given the appointment. I showed my appointment card then too. This is the third time people, 3 strikes your out! No wonder everyone drives to Lakeport for service or Santa Rosa. I just don't have the resources to drive further away. I hope whoever reads this will take some appropriate action to re-organize your appointment scheduling for the better. read more

This place wouldn't listen when I went in multiple times between 16-17 years old to tell them something was wrong with my reproductive system. I had many signs of PCOS but they disregarded me and told me my irregular periods were because I was overweight. Flash forward to 21, and I was finally listened to at another doctors office, and it is confirmed I have severe PCOS, and will likely never have kids due to the fact at how young I was when it started, and the lack of intervention at this clinic. They made me feel crazy and basically robbed me of the opportunity to ever have a healthy body or a naturally conceived baby. Early intervention could've helped me a lot. If you're ever told by them you're crazy, your symptoms aren't what you think they are, they aren't real etc run for the hills and find a new doctor, someone who actually cares about your health and future and will listen to you. Unfortunately I had the occasion to visit this hospital twice in the same day. I had an Afib attack and the EMT's did a great job getting me there. Upon arrival, there were several attending me and they are were positive, kind and clear on what was going on. After I was stable they released me and while waiting for a cab, I observed even the receptionist was so efficient and caring to those that came in. He didn't have a name tag, but he had charming accent. A couple of hours after being released, I had a relapse, and this time I was able to drive there and check myself back in. Combine the 2 visits I was in the emergency and waiting room (mostly in emergency) for about 8hrs yesterday. Fortunately, most of the time was just spent resting and listening. No matter what emergencies there were, there was no yelling, no attitudes and there was calmness and lots of professionalism. I haven't been in St. Helena for nearly a week and what a pleasant surprise from Red Bud to St. Helena. Everybody very helpful. Doctors and management are very eager to improve. Just your allergy department needs improvement and with all the employment there will always be a bad apple under the nurses. This hospital has serious issues with the word care. I would say that the what I received was a lack of care when I was there two days ago. The emergency room doctor who we will call" Mr" Chisum due to the fact he preformed no doctorial duties during my very brief visit. He was rude unkind and very unprofessional. His beside mannor was like that of a pitt viper. He should not be called a doctor in my opinion. read more
