Was on hold 8 minutes, then I asked if they were familiar with my Primary Doctor who referred me the Armenian Girl just said "Oh no we have sooooo many patients I don't know....." And then she said they are scheduling out in February because I am a new patient. When I said "Oh, no that doesn't work for me...." SHE HUNG UP ...ON ME. Dr. Ong is wonderful if you ever get the opportunity to see him. I was fortunate twice. The office staff is the worst I have ever encountered and I mean ever. If you call and try to make an appointment, it is impossible. You'll either get "the mailbox is full" which is absolutely ridiculous for a business or you will get a recording and you will wait online for a long time. I finally hung up after 25 minutes. Upon returning the call the phone directs me to reschedule with an operator. The cycle leads to a message informing me that the operator "is busy" and to leave a message; short delay leading to a message stating "that mailbox is full. You cannot leave a message." I tried to make an initial appointment with Dr. Oliver Ong, but after calling his office several times a day for over a week, I still haven't reached anyone. I managed to leave one voicemail early on, but no one returned my call. Since then, I haven't even been able to leave another message because their mailbox is always full. I am done with this office. As a senior with several doctors, I have never experienced anything like this. It is a major red flag if I can't contact a doctor when I need to. An office that is impossible to reach and doesn't return messages deserves zero stars. read more

No review of the Dr because we cant get in the door to see them.  My wife has been trying to tackle her Thyroid issues for several years. She got her last referral more than 12 months ago and had to wait months for a an appointment. (scheduled for today Dec 26th, which caused us to not travel for the holiday because this health concern is a priority to us). Two weeks ago she called to confirm the appointment and check if there was anything they needed prior to coming. She even got a text message confirming her appointment and she respond in the positive.  Today is the day of her confirmed scheduled appointment and you turned her away.  1. Because you claimed she wasn't in the system and therefor had no appointment. 2. Then they did find her referral but it was not attached to an appointment or new-patient profile. 3. Then you stated that the referral was too old and expired.  My wife left very dejected.   I called the office and inquired about my wife's appointment, they told me the same thing that they could not find her in the "system"...after confirming her name and birthday they "checked" one other place and found two profiles for her (surprising since this was going to be her 1st visit).  Then they said that the birth date was recorded wrong...  The office staff then  reiterated that there was no appointment or cancellation for my wife.  Then they told me that they called and left a message that the Dr was not available and had to cancel the appointment.   Then they said we could schedule an appointment for January. No knowing my wife's schedule I said we would call back for scheduling.  How is that this appointment took months to plan and here you are offering a visit in less than a month?!  We will take it but things seem fishy. Lots of things don't add up with their filling and logistics... If she didn't have an appointment then why confirm that you called to cancel the appointment? I can understand having inputted data incorrectly, I can also understand a situation when a Dr has an emergency and needs to cancel appointments.  What the HECK?! How can you run a business let alone one that is about healing people with such a lack of logistics and oversight.  This is not a matter of a lack of planning our our part as this took a year to make happen, just to start from scratch again.   I hear good things about this Dr but god forbid we ever get to see them.   It's not like my wife's health is on the line. terrible place, high rotation of staff and doctors. Starting with my first scheduled appointment, made in June for an appointment in August. Reported to that appointment, said it was cancelled, said they left message. not true. They scheduled for December. Called to confirm first near I my appointment date. Said it was cancelled, told me a message was sent, not true again. On the same call, to ad insult to injury, now they said I had been scheduled in May 2026! by a scheduler who wasn't there anymore. To continue, then I was told, as of 1/1/26 however, we will not be able to see you due to your Insurance coverage. I was livid! Informed only because of me calling to confirm my already cancelled appointment. The office manager began lecturing me now because, by this time, I was raising my voice. This review is for front desk only. I came for urgent care and talked to two hispanic girls working at front desk. I don't know their names, one is regular size girl, second one is big one. It felt like they have a chronic attitude problem. Asking questions felt like you are pulling their teeth, they don't even want to answer. If I were the doctor, I would fire them on a spot. A loved one is under the care of Dr Israelian and we have had the absolute worst experience at this office. We were unfortunately forced to start seeing him after the Dr she was seeing was dropped by United Healthcare network, and since then, every single issue for her has become worse. The doctor doesn't even take two minutes to listen to her, check her blood-sugar history, look at her labs to advise on how to the care of her-self...all he does is try to push medication. Her former doctor would take at least 15-minutes to talk with her, then come up with a plan-of-action, and that's likely why UHC dropped him - he actually gave a damn about patient and tried to take care of them. This person's A1C was within the normal range for years when she was under the care of the other doctor, but ever since we started seeing this doctor, her blood-sugar and A1C levels are out of range (too high). She isn't feeling well and telling him has made zero difference. Making an appointment is nearly impossible, getting some kindness from front desk is rare, and the doctor just doesn't care about any-one except the money he can make lying about seeing patients and from pushing medications on them. I don't know what the point of seeing a doctor is when they only care about money and not patient care. Would they want to be stuck with a doctor who treats them the same way ? read more

It took me almost a year of waiting to finally see Dr. Kujmanian after I was referred to him for something that my primary thought was a brain tumor. I've only seen him twice or so since then as well. He books appointments anywhere from 4-6 months apart. He lied to me about when my medication should take effect. He brushed off my 50+ pound weight gain as a symptom and refused to put me on anything to help stop the gain (I eat fine, it's a hormonal issue attached to my previous diagnosis he refuses to treat). I am beyond disappointed in this care, or lack thereof, and recommend to go SOMEWHERE ELSE if you can. Dr. Kujmanian is dismissive, does not care for the health of his patients, and barely wants to do his job. read more

This review is for the FRONT DESK only. I have been seeing Dr Kujmanian for a number of years now for thyroid and cholesterol problems. Every time I have called for something as basic as scheduling or confirming an appointment , I have been placed on hold for long periods of time. And I do mean EVERY TIME. I find the staff to be extremely rude and insensitive. They ALWAYS answer the phone and say "can I place you on hold?" Then they place you on hold for long wait times. This afternoon when someone finally came back on the phone after a long hold period, she wanted my birthdate. She should know who I am by now. When she got my birthday wrong I was a little irritated. That is understandable given the amount of time I waited for her to get to my call. She proceeded to lecture me. I told her I had waited patiently, my phone was losing battery, and I did not need a lecture about my behavior. I just needed to know the date of my next appointment, and I needed for her to send me my lab prescription. Nonetheless she continued to argue and speak over me while my battery was getting low. I was worried about losing the call and told her as much. After she finally gave me the information, she hung up on me without saying goodbye. This is after a 5 minute wait for her to come back on the phone. I know this office is busy. However, it is frustrating for a patient, who also has a busy schedule, to be placed on hold every time she calls. And, as I said, it happens EVERY TIME I call without exception. Perhaps these woman can be better trained in people skills. Or perhaps this facility needs to hire more people to answer its phones. The people who work the FRONT DESK also need to develop better listening skills so that they get it right when someone gives them a birthdate or other information. read more

Regarding Dr Penciu. After many months, roughly one year or more, Dr Penciu proved unreliable and unhelpful. I've been on the same meds for for roughly 30 years. He wanted me to stop taking Xanax completely and I told him that due to my anxiety, that my not be possible, but reassured him that I never take more than one per day and its the lowest dose. Generally I take only about 15 of these per month. For someone 60 years old, and who takes Zoloft, I don't think that be considered an addiction. I've been on this for roughly 30 years and if I was an addict, I'd probably take more than this. I was also on a trip, and lost my bottle of Xanax on the freeway when it fell out of my waist pack. I took pics of this when I eventually backtracked and found the broken bottle. (My friend yelled that I had dropped something). I took pics so Dr Penciu would see that I was telling the truth. But he never refilled my RX and refused to believe me, or even to look at the pics. I had to call my primary to get a prescription filled. In the end, Dr. Penciu was not interested in the case I was making, and showed that he didn't trust me. He also showed that he wasn't willing to look deeper into things if I was being honest. Rather, he was what I suspect was somewhat arrogant or stubborn in his presumption that I was lying or abusing Xanax. I understand the skepticism and need to not believe everything a patient tells you, but do your damn investigation, look at whatever evidence exists, meet with the patient, and work out a plan where you can trust your patient is being responsible with his meds. Dont' just cut him off. He even took days to renew my Zoloft which left me with horrible side effects even though kept calling his office asking for refills. CVS kept saying that Penciu's office had not renewed the meds. I have seen much better care out there than Penciu. His is not interested in much more than his low resolution analysis. in Fact, look at the reviews of the care center he works at, mostly awful reviews. that should tell you something about the standards and poor care of these doctors. read more

I saw Dr.Ong after waiting 4 months for an appointment. I have to say that overall I had a very positive experience. The building is right off the freeway & has free parking that leads you right into the ground floor office. The MA swooped me in after 2 minutes in their giant waiting room, took my BP, asked a couple of questions, then Dr. Ong came in right away. He's not warm & fuzzy, but he's thorough. The main diagnostic criteria is getting blood work done & an X-ray of my parathyroid glands. He told me to wait until a week before my next appointment to have it done which is in 4 months.... I thought,"What if I have a tumor on my parathyroid gland, I have to wait nearly 4 months to find out?" Hopefully it'll be normal & life will go on despite the wait! I didn't read all of the negative reviews until today, if I had read them before my appointment, I probably would've asked to see a different endocrinologist. I'm happy to report that I had a very good impression, despite Dr. Ong's cool demeanor. read more

Wow I don't even know where to start first off I had an appointment with the doctor where he told me he couldn't help me then he sent me a $350 bill for telling me you couldn't help me. I'm trying to get in contact with the billing department to Negate this. After three weeks of this issue still no one's answering me there either by phone or " patient portal" and then when you call them they don't pick up the phone either.... so good luck? If you want a doctor that cares about you and want someone that is there to help I highly recommend going anywhere else. Dr. Ong is condescending, rude, his diagnoses is based on assumption without asking questions or requesting bloodwork. He literally accused me of using thyroid medication (which I had been on for over 20 years) for weight loss. Then he dimissed me and told me I could leave now as he sat in his little seat typing into the computer and never looking at me. I waited over 6 months to see him after getting him approved through my insurance. This whole office has paid a lotof money to do their PR and get fake ratings. I know because I am in marketing and can tell you I recognize the types of sites this practice is listed on as "Best Doctors" etc. Unfortunately for me, I scheduled with him based on a recommendation from a close friend. I was new in town, new job, new everything so I did not do my research. Shame on me! After the experience with this unintelligent so-called doctor, I called and was given a fake name to someone in the office who never ever returned my call. I called my insurance and complained about him and his office claimed tht he did help me and that the case was closed. So much for complaints through the insurance. I called my PCP and let them know what happened. They told me it is not the first complaint of its kind about Dr. Ong. I called again after several months and finally connected with the office manager who seemd very nice and helpful. Nothing mattered because Dr. Ong is a dismissive, rude egomaniac who is incapable of poviding an educated diagnosis. When you know enough about your thyroid and have been to thyroid specialists who actually know what they are doing, its not difficult to recognize a quack. I encourage you to avoid this practice. Busy does not mean good. There is another doctor there by the name of Kujmanian. In Kujmanian's words, "the tumor is benign, it is a benign cancer..." I cannot divulge to whom he said this as it is not my place. But trust me, I heard it with my own ears. If you care about your health, avoid this place at all costs. They just want to make money at the expense of the patient, no matter the cost. I hope this post helps people. read more

The only complaint is about Dr Ong's re-scheduling problem. I had him re-scheduled my appointments twice, once now and once last year, a few days before the appointments. I scheduled my other appointments so that I could see him as he scheduled, but he re-scheduled. Now my new appointment is two weeks after the original appointment, and that's the earliest available per his staff. read more

I had visited Dr. Leon Kujmanian once before with an excessive delay, & waiting. On a prescheduled visit today, which I always insist to be the first patient, either in the morning, or immediately after lunch break, again there was over half an hour delay, and when I protested the receptionist took upon herself to check with the nurse, and informed me after a few minutes that it will be only 10 more minutes before she can take me to the examining room where I can be seen by the Dr. when he can!!! While the receptionist kept repeating that the Dr. is always on time. So apparently the times that I was kept in the waiting room excessively was selective or premeditated. There was no explanation, no communication, not even an apology, except for Dr. Leon Kujmanian calling me hours later (5PM) to inform me of my blood test results, and not even a simple "Sorry for your wait." Lack of proper office ethics, and professionalism, not to mention their arrogance is extremely annoying, and upsetting, as well as degrading. I highly suggest, and recommend that you look for another Endocrinologist other than Dr. Kujmanian, and Adventist Health Physicians Network, where patient care is of importance. read more

I called to make an appt and got Teresa on the phone. She asked for my name and last name. And she searched informing me that they couldn't find me on their system. So I said it again (my first and last name) and she said, oh we had you (and mentions my last name). I said, that's what I told you my last name is this and first name is this. Then she replied with "No you didn't" with a ready to argue attitude which to me is a very unprofessional response. I don't know but I come from an admin background too and as far as my experience goes, this is downright unacceptable customer or client service. Based on the many reviews prior to this, it seems that the problem is the ppl that work in the admin/reception dept not w/ the Drs. Come to think of it, I see Dr. Ong as one of the best in his field of Endocrinology so it's just right that his office is represented in a professional manner. read more

This review is specifically for Dr. Cristian Penciu not the facility itself. I called to request a refill on my mental health medication (I have been taking it for well over a year now) and he refused to do so until I made an appointment. I understand that it has been awhile, but I have been very upfront about my current situation. His hours of operation are the exact hours and days that I work and I am not in a financial position to take time off. I also moved quite far from the area and rely on public transportation. Even if that wasn't the case, he is not even in town to make an appointment with anyway. I may not be a doctor of any type, but I can definitely say that it's wrong to hold a patient's medication hostage...especially mental health meds! My mom has been going to this endocrinologist for years now and every time she calls the front desk they are so unprofessional, barely could speak English, have a heavy Armenian accent very rude not accommodating at all. Today when we called we got ARPI, We called to reschedule an appointment my mom has tomorrow morning and we wanted to reschedule because my mom is not feeling well she tells us the only available appointment they have is in March 2022 6 months later this is ridiculous. Don't waste your time here my mom has been going for years and the doctor can't even get her blood sugar level balanced at a normal level it either drops to 40 or goes up to 500 with insulin and pills And she's very cautious on her diet and everything to maintain it. I've been telling my mom for years to look for a new doctor but she just keeps going to where she goes we are definitely going to be looking for a new endocrinologist embarrassing office. read more

This review is not of the Dr. but his staff. I made an appointment with Dr. Ong 3 months ago. And have needed to see an endocrinologist for at least over a year. When I called, I never received a confirmation email or call about my appointment. I assumed I would receive some sort of message from them as the appointment neared. And received a voicemail 4 days before. I read the voicemail which said the appointment was at 4:15. Note: I've had a lot of health issues in the past year, which have prevented me often from walking and driving sometimes for weeks or months. We also have a two year old at home, and I can't leave the house with him, because I can't carry him or anything heavy. In order to go this appointment, we needed to schedule a babysitter and order a Lyft driver to take me to and from the appointment. I show up at the address listed on one of their web presences, and their office wasn't there. I call the doctor, and ask the receptionist where the office was, the receptionist very curtly said, "yeah we moved over a year ago." She then said that I was breaking up and hung up the phone on me. I called back and said hello someone just hung up on me, I'm at the wrong location, I need the.... And then she abruptly put me on hold for 4 minutes. I called back, and she abruptly put me on hold again. I called another time, and said "NO don't put me on hold, as she attempted to put me on hold again. I need your address!". She blurted it at me, and I asked her to say it again slowly. She did. I thanked her, hung up the phone and ordered another Lyft. I arrived at the new office 20min later. I walked in no one smiled or offered a warm hello. I told the receptionist politely that I had an appointment. She looked at the computer, said they didn't have anything. I gave her my name and birthdate, she said my appointment was at 12:15 that day. I told her the voicemail said 4:15. She looked very taken aback with me, exasperated. I showed her my phone. She asked me if she could read it. I said sure and handed it to her. She read it. Made an annoyed gesture then pushed the play button. She told me the voicemail "SAID" 12:15. Didn't offer any sort of solution. A reschedule, nothing! I stood there slack-jawed. And she stared back at me very rudely. I reached for my phone, with a gesture, and said "Oh." She didn't offer my phone back and she just looked at me like my face was covered with poop and continued to listen to my phone. That was enough. I took my phone from her and said, "You know what. Forget it, I'm going to another Dr. I can't believe this!" I walked into their waiting room, which was absolutely empty to call my husband and to order yet another Lyft. She yelled at me that the exit was the other direction. I told her I needed to call a ride. Before leaving, I told her she was the rudest person I have ever dealt with at a doctor's office, and that she needed to learn about empathy otherwise she had no business in the medical field. She rolled her eyes. Dr. Ong, might be a brilliant endocrinologist, but there is no way I would ever submit myself to dealing with such a rude staff like that again. There are better places to give my support to. Here's the thing, if you work in a service industry or medical industry. You need to have compassion. If someone is coming to see a Doctor, they are sick, they are in pain, they are not well. They are paying you, to be kind, to be understanding, to at least to be courteous. Sick people are not always at their best, because they are often suffering, some for a very long time. If you work in this field the least you can do, is be compassionate. It would have been so easy, for someone in that receptionist office to say, Ma'am I am sorry for the confusion, please have a seat. And we will see what we can do to sort this out. It would have been so easy to be Diplomatic. A few kind words could have smoothed this over. But the other receptionist just made snarky noises like a Highschool Teenager. They both acted as if it was beneath them, to find a resolution, in-short to do their JOBS. Their behavior was so cold, unkind, and unprofessional. My only hope is the Dr. and or Manager of this practice, will step in and do something about their staff, be it better training, or finding people who have better dispositions for the job. I doubt I am the first or only person who has had difficulty with that desk. I hope they do something about it. read more

I had my first appointment on 2/13/17 with Zarmen Israelian M.D. He is my Endocrinologist. The location is easy to find and there is plenty of parking, free. I was taken in at the time of my appointment which was very nice. The office staff is very welcoming. I felt very comfortable and the treatment he assigned me is pretty simple to follow. my review is only for the "adventist health physicians network" billing department. it does not reflect the professionals within this network. constant bad experience with billing department, incompetent, poor service, manager's unwilling to assist and fix errors, confused my healthcare provider with someone else's and sent my bills to that persons address (sounds like a hippa violation), i asked adventist to fix the error (3x) and everytime i have the same exact problem again, i am done with adventist, i am changing my primary care because of this, going to another network that is able to process billing more competently, this last incident caused my account to go to collections...very very pissed read more

This review is specifically for Yesenia! I work at a doctor's office and I was helping one of our patients find an endocrinologist who could see them ASAP. To say it was a challenge would be an understatement. I called numerous offices and none of them could see our patient until November (including this office). I went back and forth with Yesenia so that we could at least help the patient as much as we could until they were able to see one of the doctors here at Adventist Health Physicians Network. Long story short, I receive a call today from Yesenia telling me one of the doctors had a cancellation for Monday and asking if our patient would be able to make it. This might not sound like a big deal, but when a patient is worried and uncertain about the severity of their medical condition, offering them an appt. to see the specialist within a few days vs being careless and letting them wait until November is a BIG DEAL for me. Mind you, I had called this office numerous times to see if we could get our patient in, but each time I would get the same robotic answer from staff-"unfortunately we're booked until November."
