Alright you scurvy dogs!!! Just got back from an awesome 4-day trip on Cataract. Big thanks to Darin, Lindsay, and Spike for making it a great trip. You guys worked your tails off. This was first trip with AB but went with family who had gone on a previous trip with AB and highly recommended it. They were spot on. We had great water on this trip with it running about 40,000 CFS which made the rapids (and in particular the Big Drop(s) a lot of fun). As other people have said things will happen on a rafting trip but what matters is how it's addressed. We always felt comfortable and can't emphasize enough how much the guides worked their tails off to help us have an awesome trip. read more

Adventure Bound has now merged and become Mild to Wild Rafting, based out of Durango, CO. However, they are deserving of a 5-Star rating! My father has rafted every trip they offer over the span of 20 years; I've now been on two: Yampa and Desolation. Both were memorable experiences, with excellent safe guides, relaxing and exciting environment, good conversation, and great food! No one will ever go hungry on a rafting trip with AB. They've now become Mild to Wild rafting, but I nevertheless highly recommend all of their trips. read more

WOW! Great trip! Driving home after a 4-day Gates of Lodore. The large group we were added to was the best! Everyone in the group of 25 was so sad to see this trip come to an end. The guides were huge contributors to making this trip one our family's favorite! Claircy, Josh, Darin, Taylor, Marty, and Lisa did a great job with the 3 squares. We all (2 vegetarians, 1 vegan, and 1 carnivore) LOVED EVERY meal. The guides worked hard and made sure everyone had what they needed. We enjoyed getting to know them and were grateful for their knowledge of the river when navigating rough spots. We're looking forward to our next trip with Adventure Bound! read more

This was a great trip - 1 day down the Westwater Canyon. Very good for a first timer. They allowed us to paddle ourselves around in 2 person inflatable kayaks which I didn't see any other groups able to do this. They even allowed us to take them through small rapids! The lunch was delicious and the guides (Shawna (sp?) and Mike) were amazingly friendly and very experienced. I would highly recommend to anyone. read more

First off, if you are considering a trip with Adventure Bound I would highly, highly recommend it. The views and experience are great but the service from the guides is better. Darren, Claircy, Josh, Taylor, Marty, and Lisa were fabulous guides through a four day trip in the Gates of Lordore. Although I was in a large group, they did not miss a beat! They were welcoming, funny, knowledgable, patient, and most importantly, just kind hard-working people. The guides all worked together to prepare wonderful meals three times a day and set up/break down the "kitchen". The professionalism they had on the trip was astounding as they always waited to eat until each member of our group had their fill before digging in themselves. Not only were they great guides but I sincerely believe they are now friends! The canyon also offered the best star-gazing I've ever experienced! So great it seemed as if I was part of a well-esteemed star-gazing club, which had great shooting stars. I am very impressed with the trip and the company overall! read more

I loved this trip! I went on a high water Cat with Adventure Bound. My guides were extremely knowledgeable both about the river we were running and the local history and wildlife! I have already booked my next trip! A little about my trip: Cataract Canyon Guide - Daren (he was the trip leader) Huge record waters, breath taking views, and a great mix of action in the rapids and calm waters for relaxing downtime. Food all provided : Ever have someone work all day for 8 hours then turn a beach into a campsite and kitchen? Well these guides did it all with a smile on their face! Steaks, fajitas, eggs, ham, toast, milk, juice, they even had dessert for us. I feel extremely pleased with the over all price of this trip, I wouldn't be able to stay 5 nights in a hotel for what I paid for the entire trip! I came away with a great sense of adventure as well as some great memories. My Wife and I joined two other groups which both had kids, The guides must be parents because they handled those kids with grace even with the 20 questions. This was my Wife's and I's first trip with Adventure Bound, and it won't be the last. read more

Just got back in from a 3 day trip Lodore Canyon with Adventure Bound. This is our third trip with AB in three different canyons. We have been on more than a dozen river trips with many, many different outfitters. AB has been the best, by far. These three trips have been with different guides, but all have been top notch. All the equipment, meals, and customer care have been great. No extended river trip will ever happen exactly as planned. Stuff happens. That's why we go there. What sets these outfitters apart is what happens right after the stuff that happens. The guides on our Lodore trip got all that exactly right. We will be back out again and it will be with Adventure Bound. Don't look for a blow by blow of what went right and what when wrong. Go have your own adventure. What time is on the river? It's the time of your life! read more

The guides were very friendly and pleasant on our Desolation Green River Trip. However, they didn't really extend themselves to inform us, especially the kids, on fun hikes, history, native habitat, or river games. After getting in to camp, they'd typically drink some beer before starting dinner, which was usually pretty late. None of that was a big deal; we're a self-sufficient group and entertained ourselves perfectly well. Another situation: one of the guides forgot to anchor the gear boat which floated down river. Our friends, clients on the trip who kayaked the entire section, had to go and retrieve the boat, bringing it back to shore and averting some issues with the boat floating down a nearby rapid. Again, all of this could be overlooked, but on the last day, a guide held an expensive camera in her PFD, and when she leaned over the boat, the camera went to the bottom of the river. The $600 camera, plus $100 memory card, had all our family's stills and videos - an entire river trip of memories lost. I'm still disappointed how a professional river guide could do such a rooky maneuver: storing a client's camera unattached to anything in her PFD and forgetting it was there. The guide was nice enough to say she'd send him some compensation, but now two weeks after the trip, he hasn't heard from her - pretty disappointing. A note to the owner about these disappointments left us feeling even worse. Tom Kleinschnitz, the President , wrote a bizarre response ,"On advice of Council I will be simply acknowledging any correspondence from your group." He wanted us to contact his lawyer if we wanted to use any image of his boats. Well, we didn't have any pictures at all. Our camera was dropped in the river! He also stated that one of his guides was injured after we departed while unloading boats. He said the injury was due to the "excessively long river days he was subjected to during your expedition." This was comical since the CFS flow of the Green was 40,000 and we were only on the river five or six hours a day. The injured guide also drove the motor boat, not a very physically taxing job. Frankly, the injury was much more likely due to the excessive drinking which typically started early and not the excessive hours! I noticed beers came out the second they started de-rigging. Sadly, I would strongly advise people to avoid this company. read more

My grandson and I had a wonderful and memorable trip in Cataract Canyon with Adventure Bound. We had great fun in the rapids, scenic day hikes and excellent meals. The equipment was first class and the guides were great. This is the third trip with Adventure Bound, each time with a different grandson and all three have been great. read more
