I don't come to Ginnie as…read moreoften as other area springs but it's worth a visit now and then--on weekday mornings ideally if you want to freedive, swim, and miss the crowds of the weekend. It's a good camping destination, too. For me, the main draw however is freediving and there's plenty here to see. You cannot and should not by any means enter caves as a freediver--it's forbidden and even for highly-experienced freedivers, dangerous. If we freedivers don't want to wear out our proverbial welcome, yes, we need to behave. Cave-certified SCUBA divers are the only ones to enter caves. I want to address some things which came up between my own observations and what I've read in other reviews here. For one, the food. This isn't a good place to get good food. If you want something nice, get it "in town" in High Springs or bring something to cook if camping. For that matter, bring your snacks and gear because expectedly things are a bit overpriced at the merch store here. If you don't what the place to be loud, busy, and long lines then don't come on weekends and holidays. It's that simple. This is a business and they'll let in as many people as they safely can let in. As far as loud music and uneven enforcement of rules, I think this just comes down to different employees acting their own way. Most summer help is students, they're not going to have the discernment and acumen of a veteran police officer in dealing with people. Most are nice, some are lax, some overzealous. About the bath houses and other facilities. I think things are in pretty good shape--on par with bath houses at campgrounds in the Ocala National Forest, in example. Nothing was horribly dirty any time I was there but folks--this is camping. Remember that. I don't see the need for tram or shuttle, either. Maybe for disabled or infirm folks but most of us can simply walk between springs and should. Overall I feel Ginnie is well-run for what it is, with your normal business caveats like they'll charge what they can get away with in their store which is exactly why you want to buy stuff at Walmart or whatever prior to coming here. It's a great place to camp and unique, beautiful, springs you'll remember your entire lifetime.

There was one person finishing up a transaction, and before it was even over, one of the two workers asked how he could help me. I also needed a water bottle cage with my valve caps. As I stepped to pay, he informed me that they were FREE!! I know it just a little piece of plastic, but it always feels good to get free stuff! I have always been treated well here, and I am glad it is right on the 6th St bike path, because it is on my way.

Not sure what bike repair etiquette is, but performing a service without asking the customer and then charging them for it seems pretty inappropriate to me, no matter the SOP. I made the decision to drive from Live Oak down to Gainesville to purchase a Kimber 2k11 9mm…read morepistol. It's not a cheap weapon and is advertised to have a high performance trigger as it is a target model. Lawfuldefense had one in stock and I like to support local business versus order online. Everything was great until I brought the weapon home and fired it. There are problems with the trigger, bad enough to where I did not feel safe with the gun. I called the store and was told to bring it back in and we could work out store credit or something. I told them I could not ship the gun and have it shipped back because I am in the process of moving out of state. I don't have an address that's any good right now. I drove back down and brought the gun in and was then told that they could not do any sort of refund, I would have to have them send it back to Kimber and they would return it to me wherever I was, it did not matter that I didn't have an address. I was also told I would not need to return to that store, but I did not trust that process. I bought a defective item from a retailer and I expected them to handle the problems that came from the factory not me. That's the whole point of going to a local brick and mortar is the support. We argued quite a bit, I questioned why I was told one thing on the phone and another thing in person, and I ended up leaving with my new expensive paperweight. I drove a ways down the road and decided to go back and just give up the gun. I brought it back into the store again and told them go ahead and ship it back to Kimber and I'll worry about where I am and how to get it later, it's better than just losing 2,300. At this point, the story had changed and I was told that I had to physically come back to that store to retrieve the weapon after an unspecified time it would take Kimber to fix it. I finally got to talk to somebody different, the nice confused man who had been helping me all along went and got the boss. The boss ended up doing a refund, but charged me 10%. So bottom line is I drove 4 hours to pay them a $200 restock fee on a defective product. I don't call that good customer support at all.

I am happy to say however they still easily get five-star status from me. Though a smallish shop, the people are absolutely aces. First off, Dawson is awesome. He's the young mechanic and has worked on my bike twice and done a stunningly good job--and fast!--both times. Indeed, everyone here is awesome: when I damaged my Stumpjumper on a jump, they offered me several options for its repair, one being upgrading a part but they never tried to press me on that (it's what I chose anyways) and they were very matter-of-fact about every way it could be remedied. I never, ever, have felt like they're trying to upsale me anything here which is a big deal with bike shops. I have two good but not top-of-the-range mountain bikes: many stores may look at that type of person as a customer they'd try to get to trade or buy a new, even higher-end, bike because they see he's serious but doesn't have the very best. Not here. They are just decent, forthright, and honest in trying to get me what I want and get it done quickly as possible. If I do decide to upgrade to something like an S-Works bike, this would be where I'd come because they'd done right by me thus far and their skills in fixing things are also superb.

I came across this place basically by accident the other day while looking for a dealer for a…read moresuppressor I had ordered. Matt, who was working at the time, was extremely helpful with all of the questions I had without sounding like he wanted to sell me everything on the back wall. I noticed that they had some bows on the counter that looked like they were having work done and found out that was also a service they offered, so I ended up dropping my bow off the next day to have some work done and some arrows built for a hunting trip. I believe the guys I spoke with were the owners of the shop, and I can't say enough good things about the way they treated me while I was there. I plan on coming here for everything gun/bow/outdoors in the future.
