My son started at Adventures in Learning (AIL) in Tustin when he was just 2 years old in the toddler class and continued all the way through the TK class as he prepared for kindergarten. From day one, I was impressed with how well-organized and caring this daycare is! One of the standout features is the app they use for sign-in, which keeps parents updated throughout the day with pictures, activity descriptions, and insights into how each activity promotes development and learning. They also send out a monthly newsletter detailing the curriculum and upcoming activities. While this location doesn't provide full meals, they do offer milk at lunchtime and are a nut-free facility. They offer different schedules such as part-time, full time, and after-school care (including pick-up from some local schools). They also accept subsidized payment from county programs as well! The manager, Susana, is absolutely wonderful--always kind, attentive, and ready to address any questions or concerns. It's clear that she takes a genuine, personal interest in the children, families, and teachers, ensuring that the facility runs smoothly and that every child is well cared for. Safety and communication are top priorities at AIL. Whenever my son had a minor accident--whether it was rough play with friends or an accidental bump--the teachers immediately called me, documented the incident with a photo, applied ice if needed, and reassured me that he was in great hands. They also made a point to provide updates at pickup, letting me know if he had a great day or if there was anything he struggled with. I've had the pleasure of interacting with Ms. Fabi, Ms. Pam, and Ms. Aissa the most, and I can confidently say that every teacher at AIL is dedicated, hardworking, and truly invested in the children's well-being. Ms. Aissa typically hands off my son to me at the end of the day and by her communication it's clear she is incredibly observant and takes the time to understand the children's unique personalities and needs. Ms. Pam and Ms. Fabi are equally amazing--both are extremely communicative, patient, and supportive, especially during the potty-training stage. They made the process so much easier for my son and me, offering consistent guidance, encouragement, and reminders throughout the day. Their support was invaluable, and I always felt like we were a team in helping him succeed. When your child spends most of their day at daycare, having peace of mind is priceless--and AIL provides just that. The teachers genuinely care for each child as an individual, making sure they are not only safe but also learning, growing, and having fun every day. I love Adventures in Learning, Tustin! I had both of my boys go through Adventures in Learning so I was a parent at the school for a little over 3 years. Melinda and Ms. Susana are very on top of things and the Staff and teachers truly love and care about our little ones. They are well educated, always communicated well, and were great at helping my little ones learn, grow, and feel safe and happy at school. Both boys went from AIL to a Kindergarten Readiness program and the socialization and learning they received at AIL served them well once they left. My son attended AIL from 2/16-12/16 and is currently 1 1/2 years old. Positives: Monica is AMAZING with the kids and is always thinking of projects to do. She is also very good at relaying your child's day and voicing any concerns. She also informs you of any incidents, even if they didn't happen under her watch. Most of the teachers and teacher aides are great and my son enjoyed most of them. Negatives: Judy has a hard time relaying incidents, one in particular that made my decision to pull my son from the school very easy. Susana, the director, seemed to almost never be available and always put blame on the teachers rather than take accountability for things that happened in her facility. Also, I was very disturbed that her husband was allowed to come and go as he pleases - and play on his cell phone while in the facility. My son endured many injuries while enrolled at AIL, please see pictures. Most of them bite marks and scratches from other children, one older child in particular multiple times. There was a huge biting issues with another child and even caused my son to bite other children. They put the kids in time out, which is fine except they strapped them into the floor chair. The director denies this but I witnessed other children in time out as well as an incident with my son. I showed up to pick him up early and he was in time out - the big problem...the teacher made it sound like he was there for 20-30 minutes, the co-director said he was not in the chair until about 10 minutes after the biting incident (which still had him strapped in the chair for 10 minutes), and the director had no clue what was going on because she wasn't available during that time. No one could give me a straight answer and the fact they it was played off as not a big deal and they tried to justify it really upset me. I believe that the school needs to make some changes to better suit the children attending. Personally I think it would be better for the kids to not have such a wide age range (6 weeks to 2 year old are kept in the same room) If they split up the ages are had the children transition into another room sooner, perhaps the teachers would be able to attend to the children's needs smoothly. Perhaps this school is right for you, perhaps they are better equipped for older children - but I don't regret pulling my son from that school one bit. read more

Our son Shane has never been happier with the staff and what they do for him with the art's and crafts, also trunks & treats. He has met so may friends and get's excited every time he get's dropped off for his playtime. It is not pricey and worth the fact that he has a smile on his face every morning and every afternoon he is picked up (that is priceless). My son is 3 and has been there since October. In this time has learned so much! He learned how to spell and write his (long) name, he knows whole alphabet and knows how to count to 30, etc. All the teachers are patient, always on top of everything, they always let me know how his day was (good and bad). I love how they have circle time outside, how they teach them about weather, days and months through songs. The other thing that I absolutely love is that they also teach a little bit of Spanish through songs (especially in Ms Faby's class). Since day one, my son had no problem going there, the bigger problem is getting him home everyday :) The first time I stepped into the school, I knew this is the place my child will start his education. My infant daughter has attended AIL since she was 3 months and is now 8 months. My husband and I joke that she loves Ms. Judy more than us! She fusses all morning until we drop her off and she always shines a huge smile the minute we approach AIL. The staff provides us with a play by play via app of what our daughter is doing throughout the day. They are incredibly responsive, detail oriented, and communicative. The staff is warm and kind, and its apparent how much they love my daughter and the other children. Madison seems to learn a new skill almost each week! I feel at ease knowing my daughter is safe and surrounded by incredibly knowledgeable teachers and staff that clearly care a great deal about the well being of all the children. read more

Our daughter, age 2, has been with Adventures in Learning for a year and a half. I am embarrassed that I have not given them a positive review on Yelp sooner, but the good news is I feel this gives me the opportunity to give a more complete report on how amazing they are. I especially would like to call out Miss Judy and Miss Monica on being more than daycare providers by being lovely family to our daughter. I think the greatest feedback I could provide is that they are way more than just daycare. Our daughter has special needs and as such has had physical therapy, infant therapy and neurological developmental activities. Judy and Monica went above and beyond in making sure they knew exactly what therapies our daughter needed and made sure they happened throughout the day. Because they spend more waking hours with her than we do, I believe this to be a primary reason why her development has come so far. Our daughter has gone from being substantially delayed to age appropriate in nearly every regard. Thank you Miss Judy and Miss Monica. Beyond the aforementioned, our daughter has been loved, nurtured, and cared for in a way that feels like so much more than just childcare. I really can't say enough about the amazing job they have done. Our daughter absolutely loves being dropped off every day, and thoroughly enjoys the activities, playtime, socializing, etc that have become a part of her daily routine. My son recently graduated out of AIL and we were sad to leave. We found this school because he was struggling at other preschools that didn't know how to handle him as he has ADHD. The class sizes seem to be smaller with less children to teacher ratios so the children typically get more personal attention throughout the day then some larger daycare / preschools he has attended. Ms. Susanna, the Director, is the most caring and amazing person I have ever met in this setting. She was aware of my sons problems coming in and she was ready to take him and work with him. She had the patience to do just that and supported her teachers with what he needed as well and he did absolutely fine at her school. She knew he was a good kid that just needed a little extra help and understanding and she looked after him because she understood him. We will forever be grateful for her! Ms. Nelly is an outstanding preschool teacher! She keeps the children interested in their activities and she has a very good way of managing her class. She is always updating the different decorations and making it look new and fun for them depending on the different themes they have going on and the kids all seem to really enjoy her as their teacher. There are so many other great teachers and helpers at AIL that the kids get to spend time with throughout the day - such as Ms. Jeannette who picks up the kids from Kindergarten and is also a major presence at the school and a big influence on the growth my son has had there - she's amazing as well! In the morning outside or in the late afternoon inside reading books. The school is not as big as some but the teachers all treat the children well and they all seem to love what they do. Do your research parents, this center charges for lunches when at all other centers the lunches are included in the tuition. The communication with the director at the Tustin location is poor. My daughter came home crying because of mistreatment from the teachers. The staff does not issue incident reports and due to COVID parents were not allowed in the center and there is NO cameras inside the center so basically it's my child word against theirs. Their main concern is MONEY not the well-being of the kids. Research of the center is needed when it comes to the kids. Best wishes. read more

This review is for the infant room (6 weeks - 24 months). Our son started at Adventures in Learning at 3 months old and from day one loved every minute. He has become super social, is meeting and exceeding all of his expected development milestones and enjoys playing with the other babies at school. He's a very happy baby and attending Adventures in Learning has amplified that - he seems to really love his time in the classroom. Ms Judy is his teacher and ms Jeanette is in the front office - I cannot say enough about all they have done to make our transition to school a wonderful one. Judy comes up with lots of fun activities for all the babies and toddlers to do, most involving arts and crafts which is really cute to get to take home at the end of the week. My son attended this preschool for about three months in the yellow sunshine room for the 2-3 year old kids. I don't consider my son to be a "crier" but he would cry here hysterically every morning at drop off. It broke my heart but I accepted it as separation anxiety. He never seemed to become adjusted to this school so when I found another I really liked closer to our home I switched him out. At his new school he hasn't shed ONE tear in the month I've been dropping him off. Clearly being separated from me wasn't the issue. I think my child did not like Adventures in Learning because there were so many kids per adult. I understand the law is 12 kids per adult, but my son likes a lot of adult interaction so this probably didn't make him comfortable, nor me. For the price of admission I would think a teachers aid would really help. The deal breaker that made me pull him from this school was one morning at drop off. Like I said, he would cry, so I walked him over to his teacher and asked her to hold his hand so I could leave. This was out on the playground and she was chatting with another teacher. She took his hand but didn't acknowledge him or his crying at all. I left the playground and spied through the glass doors and could see that in under a minute she had already let his hand go and was back to chatting with the other teacher. She was completely ignoring him while he stood there sobbing! There was no effort to distract him with something fun or console him whatsoever. I have seen several children bawling their eyes out with tears and snot running down their faces and no adult anywhere near them to console them. This never made me feel comfortable leaving my child in the mornings. The other main issue for me was nap time. Nap time was supposedly 12:30-2:30. I would come randomly before 12:30 or after 2:30 based on whenever I finished up at work. It seemed no matter what day or time it was, the kids were always lying down on their cots with the lights out! One day I came specifically early at 11:50 thinking for sure I'd catch them in plenty of time before nap. They were all on their cots already with the lights out! I was pretty upset and asked the staff what the deal was. They told me there were "a lot of criers" that day so nap time started early. I work specifically so my son can have a fun experience away from home learning things and playing with other kids. Not nap. Other things irked me about this place such as the admissions contract stating they are not liable in anyway for my child being injured or DYING on the premises while in their care. Ridiculous. On the positive side, my son would sing songs at home that he learned at school. He learned how to identify his name, a few letters and numbers, and did plenty of cute crafts. The entry code system on the front door is nice. I did also appreciate how thorough the staff was the day my husband came to pick our son up for the first time. They had never met him before so they pulled our file and checked his ID. This school could be a nice fit for your child if they don't need a lot of adult interaction and love naps. But for my son it just wasn't a good fit. My son is excited to go to his new school each morning instead of crying. What a difference! read more

She has been through 3 classroom ages now and is soaring because of the amazing teachers and administrator here. Miss Susana is running an impeccable daycare here. My son has attended Adventures in Learning for about 9 months in order to prepare him for kindergarten. Before deciding to enroll him in AIL, I toured 3 other preschools but liked AIL most of all. The classroom is cheery, and the teachers are all very nice. The one thing that really stood out was that they are highly focused academics. The other preschools that I visited didn't seem as focused in this area. My son is learning a lot and I know he's going to do well when he goes to Kindergarten. AIL frequently sends out newsletters and homework assignments through email. I always look forward to reading about what the kids learn; it helps me to reinforce what they're teaching at home. As far as the pricing goes, I would say that it's competitive with other preschools in the area. Where AIL has an advantage is in the value of their service. I imagine if you're reading this review, you're looking for a special place to take your kids. Maybe you're going back to work after you've had a baby, maybe you're headed back into the workforce after taking some time off. Maybe your current situation isn't working anymore. And maybe you're worried that there aren't any good options for your family in the neighborhood. I'm here to shout from the rooftops, to tell you how much I love and appreciate Adventures in Learning. Last year, around this time, I started looking for childcare options and decided on a few things: I wanted a place that loved my baby (almost) as much as I do, I wanted a place my baby could learn to socialize from an early age, and an environment that encourages learning through play (read the studies, it's very important to play at a young age and not cruise straight into rote memorization skills). So, I came to Adventures in Learning (AIL) based on initial price and proximity to my house. I visited the facility, toured the rooms where my baby would make friends and early memories. I liked that they had a classroom setup. They had outdoor play time. I appreciated the structure. And I signed up for baby Bowden to join the AIL family this year. As we got closer to the end of my maternity leave, AIL called and invited me to tour the facility again. This time, I noticed things a little differently. The class where I would be dropping off my baby had older children coming back to hug their old teachers. The teachers were spending time to ask how things were going. I reflected on my years growing up and knew that the only teachers I went back to visit were the ones that cared, genuinely, about my well-being. I saw the faces of the kids, excited and bright. The teachers' faces returned beaming smiles. They oohed and aahed at the baby in my arms. And I looked at the kids in the class and saw them (a diverse group, I might say) as future friends for my little one. And I was really excited to send my baby there reach day. To hang with teachers who loved him and friends who will stretch his understanding of identity, culture and family. When the day came for me to return to work, my heart was at peace. As the weeks progressed, I got to know his teachers, see them holding him when I came early to pick him up. Saw them developing his skills (I didn't know he could hold the bottle!). The best part was watching him interact with the other kids. You wouldn't expect much for a 6 month old, but boy those neurons are firing! He's laughing and talking and playing. Each week the school has different learning objectives and you'll see they modify for the different age groups. It's pretty cool. They have picture day! Things I wouldn't have thought about, they do. When baby is older I can pay for a school lunch (make my life a little easier). The list goes on. I feel so good about my choice to send him to a place filled with love and play and learning. My son was in the Sunshine class (2-3yrs) for over a year, full time and he turned into a little man under the guidance of his teachers and staff. He blossomed and would surprised me everyday of something new he had learned. He will be 3 in May 2016 and knows is colors, shapes, count to 12, recognizes numbers and letters, and loves to sing the ABC song. Adventures in Learning also potty trained my little guy, he showed signs of wanting to go to the potty at 2 1/2 and he only had 2 accidents the whole time and that was during nap time. He now uses the big potty and stands up, crazy!! I know. Unfortunately we ended up moving and took him out of AIL. I miss all of teachers and staff, we would be gone all the way till Kindergarten if we didn't have to move. My child has been attending Adventures in Learning tustin since 6/2017. She is only two and didn't speak but 5-6 words. Within a month of being there she had tremendously expanded her vocabulary, can hold a conversation and even sings. Ruby loves all of her teachers. I was worried about putting my child into school, so glad we found adventures in learning. Love the staff who really care about my child and making her school experience safe and educational. We have had our two boys attend AIL from infant through Red Robins (four years each). The staff has been very consistent with very little turnover which is very comforting to know and a main factor in choosing to remain there for as long as we have. From Ms. Melinda to Ms. Susana to Ms. Crystal, Ms. Fabiola and Ms. Jeanette and the support staff, it has been a pleasure seeing them on a daily basis. We have formed a great, trusting relationship with each of them and I will be sad to be no longer going there on a daily basis as my son is graduating from preschool this June. We have run out of kids to send there. AIL is a safe, clean environment with excellent learning curriculum and a caring, supportive staff. The summer program is also a very fun time of year for the staff and kids. The costs are reasonable and Cater Tots handles the lunches. Snacks are provided daily. My son loves that school and each of his teachers. For those of you who speak Spanish, the staff is bilingual. AIL has been a blessing for our family and we could not even consider the thought of having our boys attend any other facility. We have made good friends with several parents and their children and have celebrated many birthday parties for our kids. I highly recommend this AIL location if you are seeking educated teachers and a daycare learning facility dedicated to supporting your child and forming a positive relationship with your family. Called last week and spoke to Susana and scheduled a tour of their preschool today. Left work early and arrived at the facility at 4:30. A young lady opened the door and told us that her boss had already left. I'm assuming her boss is Susana? there was no apology or explanation. I already didn't have a very good feeling when I had called. This is my first time looking into preschools for my daughter and I felt that the person was impatient and dismissive of my questions, unlike kiddie academy where they took the time to explain everything and answer every concern. Despite that, I wanted to check the school out and see if my first impression was wrong. My son has been attending AIL since he was 3 months old. He enjoys his time immensely and loves all his teachers there. We love the educational curriculum he receives there and think that this is a better alternative to sending him to someone's home. I look forward to getting all the different artwork that he makes and LOVE that they include hand prints and footprints (nice keepsake for as he grows older). Our experience with AIL has been nothing short of amazing. My wife and I were in a pinch looking for a daycare that would accept our 1 year old on short notice last November (2015). He was not due to start daycare until January 2016, but we toured the center well in advance and felt this would be the best place for him. We weren't wrong, as we have thoroughly enjoyed our time with the center. In fact, we signed our daughter up shortly after she was born in March. Our children have spent time in the Yellow Sunshine (2-3 year old) room and Infant room (under 2), but the entire staff has been helpful and welcoming. Our kids have grown leaps and bounds by being around the staff and learning what they have been taught. AIL will always have my gratitude for their help. read more

My son started AIL just a month ago. From the first time we toured the school and met with the teachers our hearts were happy. There are so many aspects of this school we love. Our son is almost 3 and really needed more social interaction. This school really gives him that. It's very focused on group learning and group play, 2 items he really needed. I appreciate and respect the director Miss Susana along with his main teacher Miss Lindsey. The fact they mix structure, with learning, fun, and creativity has made a difference is the short time we've been there. Our son comes home and wants sing and dance. He knows more names, words, and emotions. Even more importantly to us, he wants to play and socialize with more children. We owe all of this improvement to AIL and especially Miss Lindsey. As a first time mother of an only child she takes the time and patience with me to let give me updates on his improvement and what we can do at home to help reinforce what he is learning at school. Hi! After years of experiencing different day cares for my daughter ( since she was 6 months old) I truly have great things to say about this facility. My daughter is now six years old and has the best teacher, Miss Linda. The entire staff is warm and helpful and she absolutely loves coming here, because they listen to her. Let me tell you my daughter is not a shy girl , very outgoing and she can keep everyone on their toes.she is not quiet about anybody treating her wrong or disrespecting her. they absoloutely love her and find her amusing. I could not have a better staff looking after my daughter. They start their morning writing in their journals ( which helps keep their minds fresh over the summer. They even host a parents night out event once in a while, in which they watch your kids from 6-8 pm and have them watch a movie with their classmates .i am very happy i found this place, as i was trying to find someone who not only watches your children, but stimulates their mind and keps them safe as well.. It can be scary leaving your child with strangers but i know i made a great choice! Conveniently located five minutes from my work in old town Tustin and just a minute from the 55 freeway! My son has been attending AIL for over a year now and he loves it. He is super shy and still won't really talk to the teachers but I know he loves it because as soon as we get in the car, he tells me about his day with enthusiasm! I am really happy with the staff, particularly with his current teacher Ms. Jeanette who has taken him under her wing and really made him grow socially and academically. Every day he surprises us with things he learns and retains from school. All the teachers and office staff are very approachable and I can express my concerns, questions and comments at any time, they are always willing to listen. I also love how ALL the teachers are loving and caring with all the children whether they are in their class or not. I'm really glad we came across this school, and after touring different ones, we knew this was the one, they made us feel welcomed and were patient with our various visits and questions. I am currently searching for schools for my daughter and of course like most people, I read the reviews before calling to schedule a tour. I understand that not everyone will be satisfied with services at any facility but what prevented me from calling was the combative responses the owner was giving yelp users. It is never okay for a professional of a business to say to any visitor that he or she is lying. Constantly giving examples to prove why their facility is a great one and why others are not telling the truth Is not the way to promote your business or resolve a concern. It just becomes more aggravating because someone STILL feels that their not being heard and from here it just turns into an argument. True facility owners who are more concerned about the safety and cleanliness of their business, focuses on resolving problems ONLY and let your facility and Tours speak for itself. My son has been attending AIL for 2.5 years from the time he was an infant. The teachers and staff are caring and patient and he loves attending school. The curriculum balances fun, education and life skills and I am impressed by the manners he has learned. They seem to have great patience and discipline when it comes to the children. It's not the cleanest daycare my child has ever attended but its definitely not the filthiest by any means. Our son has been attending AIL since March of 2015. We enrolled him specifically to have more social interaction. His speech was delayed and never really wanted to play with other kids. It's now been a little over a year and he is thriving. The teachers and aids all have certifications or multiple EE classes under their belts. They take time to sit and talk to me about my child and his needs, their thoughts on what we can work on at home and what I do as a parent that they may be able to try at school.
