I've taken a x-ray and an MRI and was told that an authorization for treatment would be sent to my provider. That was six weeks ago. I've called them at least a dozen times. I don't get any return calls. The doctor (Sheth) doesn't do what he says he's going to do. The office on Saint Joseph's Parkway is a dump. Been through many medical procedures and had several different doctors for different ailments over my 72 years. This is absolutely the worst experience that I have ever had I would suffer with the pain that I'm having rather than go through the pain caused by this experience anymore. This office is terrible. I went there after being treated by pain mgmt doctors in other states where I lived (was new to the Houston area). When I had the misfortune of being sent here because of a referral from mt primary care physician, I wound up meeting with Dr. Sheth. He ignored what other doctors in my records had said, treated, and done for me and wanted to send me to their "psychologist", quoting that this is standard of all pain management clinics in Texas. Well, 1) that is simply not true and 2) they are possibly in some sort of agreement/arrangement with one another's practices. I would avoid this clinic at all costs. I am not a drug seeking addict, btw. I have a permanent injury that needs ongoing treatment and it requires some medication In order for me to function. This office offers no solutions that are helpful, only judgement and truthfully, I don't know what it is that they actually offer the patient. He had no ideas or suggestions for me. Let me start off with if there was a 0 star option I'd leave a -10. I had a Surgery at the beginning of the year. And the iv pain meds were not working. Morphine, fentanyl Dilaudid nothing. The hospital and my doctor told me to see a pain management specialist when I was released I was given hydro, Oxy, Demirel, and others. Taking 2 and 3 mixing and they did nothing for pain not even making me drowsy. Couldn't sleep becuse of the pain and I call this location for pain management on Jan the 2nd. Spoke with someone oh yes he treats that but we need your medical recs. I saw the doctor the next day snd watched them send the records called back 2 days later no one answered left message, next day next day next day no one answered called the week after no answer no call back. Last week feb 13 they called back and never got the records. Got them the records the next day and I get a call back that they got them and need to ask about the pain. This has been the absolute worst experience I have ever had with any place that I have ever done buisness with!!! I would rather deal with the IRS than to deal with any of the staff at this place. Both Dr. Allen Dorsett and Dr. Michael Sheth did not care less about my physical or mental health at all and they made it very obvious Dr. Allen Dorsett was a most self centered, selfish and non empathetic excuse for a Dr that I have ever seen. From the time I met him till the time I departed his office all he did was sit back, ask some common questions and rolled his eyes when I tried to answer them. He cut me off so much while I was talking that I couldn't get a complete sentence out !! He diagnosed me without me even being able to explain my situation. I went there from severe withdrawals due to an opioid addiction that I obtained from a back injury and have never been able to escape the horrors of it ever since . I went there seeking help because I do not want to die of an overdose, which I did overdose a few months back and thankfully for Narcan and God I'm still alive to talk about it !!! Trust me when I say he, "Does not care" !!! He is all about the money and it shows very vividly !!!!! I do not see how he is still a Dr. I would not send my dog there if his life depended on it. Dr.Michael Sheth is close to the same except he let me speak a little but he too does not care and is all about the money !!!! They terminated me because i told them that they only cared about the money and i didn't feel that they cared about me as a patient or my well being !!! They lied and said that they terminated me because i cursed a staff member so I called and asked whom had I cursed, which he was unable to answer Then he switched his story and said that he was unable to help me due to the severity of my condition. They are both liars and scam artist !!! Do yourself a favor and stay as far away from these poor excuse for Dr's as possible !!! They are far from honest and genuine as you can get. I am so dissapointed and actually angry with this medical group. The office staff, basically could care less about how your insurance works and what documents are needed for specialty procedures. Dr Sheth has a horrible manner about him, pretty much changed up my meds, then brushed me off telling me to go see my GP for pain meds. I waited 3 hours 1st visit, then over and hour for the 2nd visit. They had urine samples lined up against the wall on the floor in one of the exam rooms. I dont think he ever even made eye contact with me. This place is disturbing on a lot of levels. He only seems to want to do cortizone injections, if that doesnt help, go to your gp??? really I thought this was pain management, a way to help you deal with chronic pain? This is an excellent pain center. All the doctors and staff are professional and caring. With the exception of the records request staff, which is why it's not a straight five across the board! I've phoned the record request number 3 different days and left messages. I only got 1 call back from her. I sent a request for records on Friday and got a confirmation sheet and made two follow up phone calls on two days this week. Again, no return phone call! I phoned the front desk today inquired about my records. She said they haven't received the request. I filled her in on the history and requested an office manager or a doctor phone me. I hope this issue is resolved ASAP! Hopefully, I can report good news soon. Other than this above (but major) issue, I give everyone else a five star! This is not a pill factory this is a pain management clinic, so if you are looking for an easy prescription with no oversight this is not the clinic for you! They are above board and obey the laws which is something I respect and like which is why I like this clinic. Be prepared for continued drug testing which gages many things: Are you taking your pills?/Are you taking too many?/Are you taking illicit drugs?/etc...They look for signs of pill abuse and offer other options to manage pain. They are all professional and all business. If your looking for a warm fuzzy sympathizer, go somewhere else because they are vetted to spot a fraudster. But if you realize that they probably see all different types coming through the doors, you can understand their healthy concerns and protocols. I am not certain how to reach them. My husband dropped off a packet of my records, a CD of my imaging, and my doctors have submitted referrals. This was all two weeks ago. I have emailed and called and left messages. When I call, there does not seem to be anyone manning the phone. I would like to be a patient there as the reviews are mostly great, and it sounds like what I need. I'm just not sure how to do it. read more

I went to Advocate Pain Management yesterday. Well it took 3 weeks to get them to actually get my records that I faxed three times. I had to wait 3 weeks to see a doctor. I drove all the way from Livingston, Texas, waited two hours to see a doctor only to be told that they don't write pain medication???? They do injections, physical therapy, burn nerves, etc. I know the doctor was a freaking liar because the woman I was sitting by in the lobby was there for her second visit and she said she got her scripts filled in Galveston, where she lived. Granted this was her second visit, which tells me she did get pain meds on her first visit! These people are so full of shit. They are liars, they are very rude and they are stupid!! If you want to waste your day sitting in their office, go for it. You will be disappointed. I would rate them a zero if you could pick a zero. They are a joke. read more

If I could I would give this place a zero . Took them weeks to read my medical records my doc from out of state sent. Then when i get to the back the doc has maybe 3 pages of my records in there with the paperwork I had to fill out for them. He would ask questions or state something when tried to answer he would cut me off.If he would of read all my records not picked only 3 pages out of them from different years and 2 where the same thing. He would of seen what worked for me and what did not. After being in pain management for 7 years after my wreck, i am pretty sure my doctor knew what he was talking about as well as my neurologist and orthopedic surgeon. Referral process date was August 4, I didn't hear from them so I called August 10. The girl told me they received the referral August 6 (just never bothered to call). Then she told me that I wouldn't be seeing the doctor I requested because he was on vacation, also that I would be going to a different location. I asked when my appointment would be and was told they would let me know in three or four days (after the doctor did an evaluation). Evaluation without seeing the patient?! The girl was crass during the whole conversation. As of September 9, I still haven't heard from them and I think that's a very good thing! If I could give this business ZERO stars, I would. The ABSOLUTE WORST STAFF AND CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED IN MY 47 YEARS! The doctor will make a decision on whether or not to take you on as a patient before even seeing or examining you. I did not have the chance to send the records from my previous pain mgmt dr of 4 years (that retired), or from any of my other specialists. When I called to try to rectify their mistake, I was dismissed and then hung up on by "Miss KIM". When I called to speak with the office supervisor, Carlton, He also had no apology for the employee's behavior nor did he try to rectify their mistake. I should have paid attention to all of the other reviews on the web giving this business such low ratings. Patient beware! Dr. Dorsett and the staff at APM are the best in their industry. They are not looking to just control your pain, they genuinely care about making sure that the whole body is being treated. I'm reminded every month to follow up with my PCP and to get my annual wellness check up. They are not drug dealers, they are medical doctors that monitor you every month to make sure you are getting the best care. The girls in the office are very professional and they have Paramedics there to monitor your progress when you have to have a procedure. I feel very confident in the ability of my doctors in this facility to treat not just my pain but the cause and make sure I'm getting the best care from numerous injuries over the years and the arthritis that has set in. I travel 30 miles once a month, not because I have to because I go through Clear Lake where I had been treated previously, but because I get the best care from the best doctors. If I could give 10 stars I would. I've been a patient for a year and half. read more

I asked to be transferred to advocate PM because of proximity to my house and employment. I specifically asked if the doctor could and would follow my current treatment and essentially take over my care. Dr. Sheth did a review of my file and cleared me as a patient " agreed to take over my care". Upon arrival I went through the normal procedure "urine sample, weight , pain questionnaire" then I was introduced to the Dr. Sheth. Immediately he informed me that he wouldn't take over medication management. I'm so compliant with my medication that its to the extreme, which he did acknowledge. I asked for my money back since he reviewed my record prior to coming in, He refused to refund the visit. I could tell by the way he acted that he had planned to defraud me and the insurance and had no intention to help me as a patient. Further more his attitude was that of a snake oil salesman, not a legitimate doctor. Beware there is big issues going on at this clinic. Moreover Dr. Sheth according to the information I found on him is not very well liked by patients he has worked at a lot of pain management clinics all over the country " Alabama, Michigan and Texas" which further raises my suspicion about his character. read more
