This was not an easy situation for me personally. Moryah made a stressful situation much easier to navigate. I especially appreciated her clear communication and timely updates from start to finish. Thank you again for your support and guidance.

I was a bit skeptical but I thought giving it a try anyways and contacted her and left her a detailed voicemail. She replied promptly with more and useful information of what I had asked for and even a few steps forward giving me a panoramic view and timeline of what the whole process would be and cost. I called her back with a couple of Q/A and then I decided this was the person I was looking for. Straight to the point, no nonsense, extremely patient dealing with someone new in the process, she was very thorough, kind and knowledgeable plus her prices were extremely reasonable. Everyone I spoke before her while looking for help, would either, call me back a few hours or days later, answer my questions with two or three words and make you feel you were wasting their time. Moryah was a very pleasant and refreshing breeze of fresh air in this research process. Once I started working with her, everything went exactly as she had described it to me before except for a few mistakes I did but again she graciously and with so much patience accepted to deal with them without making you feel guilty, while at the same time, she was going through a very personal and painful family member loss. This might sound corky but I honestly felt she was the light at the end of the tunnel that gives you hope and motivation to keep going towards the end. I highly recommend her as a professional plus she is an exceptional human being.

It had their name, but looked like it had been just printed off of a computer. In other words, it did not look like a letterhead of an official business. The note also didn't show who was the respondent or person who they needed to serve and they had no way of knowing how many people lived at our place. My husband called and found out it was for me and what the lawsuit was about. When someone tries to serve you, you should check to make sure this is legit as opposed to a scam. You should ask: 1. Who is being served. 2. What type of documents are being served. The server should tell you the type of action and the claimant (who is suing you). So now you should have two names and the type of action. 3. What courthouse is the lawsuit filed and what's the case number. 4. Court date. This way you can look it up and check. After which you might want to talk to an attorney. We were served on Saturday so that means we wouldn't be able to reach an attorney or our insurance agent (the matter was a car accident) until Monday. The rule about business calls is three-business days. This office called my husband on Tuesday. He contacted me. I called our insurance office twice, but was unable to speak with my agent. I called Stenberg to tell them. First, I explained I wished to talk to my agent first and to make an appointment with my agent so I could be served there. This is reasonable, however Stenberg was not reasonable. He claimed this would be a problem for the following reasons: 1. I needed to be served at the address on the papers. 2. It was for my convenience. 3. It would cost his client more money. 4. I didn't have time. A person can be served at one's residence, at one's place of business or somewhere one frequents. It is reasonable to request to be served at one's legal representative's office. As it turns out, the person suing me isn't using his residential address. The address used is his lawyer's. From the website Stenberg & Stenberg write: "Conveniently located in Koreatown, in the heart of the Los Angeles Basin, we service centrally located law firms for Los Angeles County, Orange County, San Bernardino County and Riverside County Courts. Through our extensive network of affiliates, we can handle assignments for you throughout California and the United States." Yet Stenberg had other excuses like it would be hard for him to get someone there. I was going to run out of time--not true because I asked for the court date. He was rudely talking over me. So I stopped talking. He eventually stopped and said, "Hello. Hello?" He claims I hung up. I just stopped speaking to someone who is rude. This was Tuesday and still well within the three business days and I had explained I had not yet spoken with my legal advisor. Stenberg immediately called my husband and said I was difficult to work with. My husband tells me he had to calm Stenberg down. I feel it was more likely that Stenberg was just trying to pressure him to pressure me, but also his way of getting more information about me. This should strike some women as very sexist. I would contend that calling my husband also borders on harassment, particularly because he mentioned he could serve me at 6 a.m. People who know me know that doesn't actually work as a threat. The lawsuit involved me. My husband is only involved as the registered owner. Stenberg had also called me before the three-business days were up and left a message. I was able to connect with my insurance agent and make an appointment later that day (still Tuesday). Rather than contact this rude business, I emailed him the appointment time and date. Despite his previous claims, presto! He immediately was able to make arrangements. I made sure to tell him that he was rude, and he claimed that by hanging up I had been rude. This again isn't true. If hanging up on someone is rude, then we'd all be at the mercy of telemarketers. I am writing this for several reasons. If you want to keep things civil, this might not be the company for you. I was trying to work out a reasonable solution and if the claimant wants to use his legal representative's address for service, then why would it be unseemly or unreasonable for me to be served at the office of my legal representation? While Stenberg didn't deliberately mislead me, if I didn't know my legal options, I might have been bullied into doing something at his convenience. I also write because having been served, I can tell you that the notice given didn't provide me with information that should be clear--to whom the note was addressed. I also can show that the note didn't look like a professional business stationary or form. Receiving a notice in this form immediately made me research to make sure it was not a scam.

Karen Suri is a Godsend! She was first recommended to me by a top Beverly Hills business law…read moreattorney so I knew she was great. I was separated and going through a divorce at the time and was having the hardest time finding good lawyers that didn't charge exorbitant prices and also had the nerve to be very callous and uncaring on top. I needed someone compassionate who understood what a trying time this was for me. On our first meeting she gave me a list of what she calls commandments which is really 10 beautiful quotes to help you through the pain and hard time you're going through. I was sold right then and there. She was so pleasant and so kind and I felt so much relief after that. Thankfully my hubby and I reconciled and called off the divorce. She was so happy and understanding of that as well and wished us well. I thought this was where it was gonna end but little did I know I'd need her again soon. I had been dealing with a stalker since February of last year. It wasn't too bad at first. They'd just post silly defamatory crap on social media. Eventually though it escalated to death threats and threats of violence and them posting videos of my home and driving in my neighborhood. After ignored cease and desists and several police reports, I decided to file a restraining order. I reached back out to Karen and the first thing she did after reassuring me it was gonna be okay is tell me that we could use the remainder of my retainer towards it for now. I thought that was so lovely! The so called restraining order lawyer I'd used before that to send the cease and desist letter had asked for $3000 then when I told him I was ready to go to court demanded $5000 more. I should have read his yelp reviews first because they all said he's a crook. I didn't even know why it hadn't occurred to me to ask Karen Suri so for her to start by letting my remainder of my previous retainer go to work for me was also such a relief. Once again she put me at ease and I felt I was in control again. We filed the restraining order and even though the cowardly stalker did everything to avoid both being served and showing up in court, Karen saw it through for me and never wavered in her support. There were times we spent all day in court because the other side was playing stalling games and asking for continuances (and it was stressful because it kept running up my bill) but in the end we won. I was granted a 5 year restraining order on March 4th! As a black woman, we always worry that we won't find a lawyer that truly cares enough for us to advocate well. With Karen I knew and felt that she did indeed care and that was huge for me because it sets your heart at ease and removes a lot of the stress. Thank you so much for helping me get that nuisance out of my life Karen. I recommend her 10000%! Oh! And she has THE BEST shoes!

I found myself needing to repeatedly call, text, and email to make any progress. Ultimately, she ceased all communication before addressing errors in the court's order that she had assured me would be easily fixed. As a result, the County Child Support Services Department said it can't enforce the order until it is corrected, and I have not received child support. I do not recommend hiring Karen Suri and will move forward with reporting her to the State Bar.
